A lot of the clothing shops, hardware stores, record stores, and so on have closed down or have moved, because the housing rent has increased tremendously. Tøjeksperten has survived because of good old values as quality, super service, and classic supply of mens wear and accessories. You can go here to stock up on your standard clothing; jeans, shirts, t-shirts, pullovers, underwear, and socks. I often go here to buy presents for male family members. They have the usual things you buy for presents, when you are not sure what else to buy. They are member of a big chain of mens wear shops with stores all over Denmark, so it's easy to exchange the present, if you made the wrong choice.

The two first floors have women's clothes, then one floor for children and the top floor for men. Despite it being big I rarely find things for myself here so not sure if the selection is slightly different here. There are also only escalators going up so a bit annoying that there are only stairs going down.

They also have an in-house cafe that serves up pastries, drinks, and light bites. The collection is very minimalist with a very clean Scandinavian feel. They sought to make products that are very durable and built to last. I love their small home section and the clothing reminds me of Cos. Everything is very beautiful and does indeed look like it's good quality! I wanted to post this review to highlight their lovely cafe. I tried it for the second time yesterday and was very impressed! I had their lunch special: a salad or sandwich with choice of drink and cookie. I got the goat cheese salad with hot tea and a cardamom cookie. It was very healthy and Swedish - reminded me a bit of something you'd find in Los Angeles. This location is a great spot if you're looking for a more local spot to grab a quick bite while shopping in the inner city. They have a great selection of books and magazines to check out while you eat. Check it out if you're looking for classic Scandinavian design and a decent price.

When walking through the town square the first time, sadly this store was closed. However, just…read morebefore heading back to the station to return to Denmark, I had wanted to come back and see if they were open. I'm glad I did. I had wanted to find something unique, but local to take back as gifts. It's very rare to find hand made things anymore, so when I saw this store's specialty was hand painted clogs, I got excited. There's definitely nothing like this where I live. The clogs were all wooden with leather, and all hand painted. The owner was very friendly and I'm sure he was surprised to meet someone all the way from Hawaii in his shop. I found the perfect pair of clogs for my daughter, and these should last a long time. I saw a customer come in with a pair of clogs to repair. Evidently, the shop will fix up a pair you bought years ago. Cool! In addition to clogs, they also sold Dalahäst (Dalecarlian) horses, which come from the province of Dalarna, and are famous and a symbol of Sweden now. No two are alike, as they are all hand carved and painted. They were pricey, but I would pay for the quality and knowing I had a unique hand crafted product, instead of a cheap knock off mass produced in China. They made for great stories and gifts. This is another store in which I look forward to visiting again in the future. Who knows, maybe in a few years I may be able to bring my clogs in to be repaired.
