Vendors were selling Glogg (Swedish Mulled wine), Glühwein, reindeer falafel, salmon falafel, mittens, scarves, christmas ornaments, chocolate, preserved meats, etc. The Christmas market had a lot of fast food restaurants as well as sit down restaurants. You can ice skate or go on rides (ride pass sold separately). There were lots to do!

Unverseum in Gothenburg is a nice little science museum that's meant for kids, but was fun for two…read moreadults (me and my friend) too. There is SO much to do and see at Universeum. It's almost like a zoo meets a science museum meets a planetarium. Each floor has a different theme, so it's very easy to traverse and do each floor in order or bounce around. They had floors for each type of animal to visit (Ocean, Reptiles, Humans, and others) They have shows in the Wisdome, which is a big theater that is in the shape of a large geodesic dome. This is a separate ticket you buy, so check ahead what is being shown and see if you want to plan a visit during your Universeum visit time. There were a lot of kids running around here, as I said, but this is an educational museum so that is to be expected. If you're an adult going without kids, don't feel weird about it because it's super interesting for adults too!

But it's still something fun to do (although expensive), and my sister and I decided to check out Universeum because we had the time, and there wasn't much else to do that worked with our schedule and interests. The highlight of Universeum was the rainforest exhibit. There were small monkeys running around, and they were so friggin' cute! The monkeys are free to roam around the exhibit and will walk right up to people and run around their feet--they aren't behind any kind of barrier. Despite there being special doors to prevent escape, be careful when exiting to ensure the monkeys don't get out!

After a quick visit to the Bohus Fästning (Fortress) our dog and us really needed a walk. And…read morethere's a nice little walk around the Fortress. You can either start south of the Fortress, just by the Bohusbron Bridge (there's a parking lot, 4 hours free) or north of the Fortress at the Ställplats - Husbil Camping and Parking lot (fees apply). The walk along the water and around the Fortress is quite short, but very nice. Sheep roam around free here, so please be respectful of their territory. Dogs are allowed though. There's a bunch of benches with nice views and some water access in case your furry friend needs a quick dip (ours did). If you are visiting the Fortress, be sure not to miss out on this little walk. Everything in great condition. The virtual games are on big screens. They have a bar on both floors. We were there on a Friday evening and the cloak check was mandatory but free. There are different opening hours for the different floors. Game room upstairs open Fridays and Saturdays only - Fri from 17.00 and if I am not mistaken from 11 on Saturdays. I like the way the game room is designed with neon signs and pretty spacey. I found the prices a b-i-t on the pricey side - 125 SEK for 15 minutes hunting for instance. I guess golf and car racing was the same. Pinball is 10 SEK a single game, 15 for 2 persons game. They have four machines: Spiderman, Batman, NBA and Wheel of fortune. They also show big sports events on their Star Vision screens. Not too many seats though (only like 25). When you go here, I guess you need to decide wearing your spending money! There is a changing machine so just bring your bills and start playing! It is fun! Perfect for your team building sessions at work!

Most games are 10 SEK for a game and the pinball is SEK5 for a game. During May and until mid-June you can buy a "all-you-can-play"-ticket for SEK90 on Sundays only. This is perfect! Because, honestly who are done playing after one token paid? So anyone lucky enough to be at Liseberg on Sundays now - you should totally buy this one day option! Actually, it is the only way to enter the Arcade on Sundays because all games are set on free play - except for those with prizes of course. Some of the games and machines are pretty worn and old, but there are a few new ones - I enjoyed the Harley Davidson, hunting and one of the racing games. The HD game is scary! You get an authentic feeling riding the bike and it feels like you're gonna fall off! Really! I guess this option made it less crowdy which was perfect, less children and no waiting time. But bring ear plugs! It is NOISY! Older people will get tired! ;) Tickets are bought in Spelhuset (not park entrance). They accept AMEX.
