Liseberg has the most beautiful Christmas Market! I loved all the little vendors they had available. Vendors were selling Glogg (Swedish Mulled wine), Glühwein, reindeer falafel, salmon falafel, mittens, scarves, christmas ornaments, chocolate, preserved meats, etc. The Christmas market had a lot of fast food restaurants as well as sit down restaurants. An amazing holiday-filled amusement park w/ a Christmas market during the winter! The park was decorated sooo cute with lights everywhere. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. They have ice skating, a bunch of rides (kids and adults, lots of christmas market stores, and restaurants. I recommend getting the ride ticket so you can go on all the rides instead of having to pay for them individually. read more

AMAZING CHRISTMAS MARKET Liseberg amusement park has opened the biggest Christmas Market in Sweden with thousands of lights and Christmas attractions. Not to mention all the wonderful rides. We were lucky this year to stop by Göteborg and experienced a true "Winter Wonderland" in Liseberg. Combined with old fashioned Christmas stands and modern lights and games (for all ages) the Liseberg Christmas Market at the Liseberg amusement park is a must see. The price for general admission is only 110sek, which is under $20 and there's just so much to see and do. Definitely, definitely worth the value. If you are traveling with family in Göteborg this holiday season, do not miss this once in a year opportunity in Liseberg. Will definitely come back again next year. When I was a kid, I was afraid of rollercoasters. More specifically, I was afraid of upside-down rollercoasters. But when - at the age of 10, in the summer of 1994 - I was challenged to ride the upside-down rollercoaster at Liseberg, you know what? I did it. And it was awesome. Now I'm hooked on rollercoasters. And every time I go on one, or see one, or even think of one, I think of Liseberg. I also really dig the pink and green bunny mascots. They're what's up. read more

It was several years since I last visited Liseberg, when I recently decided to give it a try. The park has changed! To the much better! It now gives the feeling of a theme park. Many new attractions and better layout and cool exteriors. Flowers, bushes, cute houses, cute details. Way to go! You can buy either a pass for the attractions or pay separately. A few attraction is not included though. You can buy a booklet of single tickets to use for attractions can/or games ("5-kampen"). "Chocolate wheels" are typical Swedish amusement parks - you can win 2 kgs of chocolate, chips, sweets or even stuff to the household. The playhouse (Spelhuset) is for the gamers of arcade games. I found it rather expensive paying SEK5-10 for a few minutes game. Because of course - when you are having the most fun, it will all be over if you do not pay another golden coin (SEK10) to continue smashing the enemy! As an alternative to this, Liseberg has during May/June had a supernice deal - SEK90 and you can play all that you want the entire day! I stayed for 11 hours...Well. you need to take a break from the alarming noise once in a while. Don't forget to bring earplugs (seriously)! (Spelhuset has a separate entry at Yelp) There are quite a few good food places, some are real restaurants in the park. (see separate reviews) On crowded days, you probably need to make reservations or you can stand in the long lines for burgers. Hard to give a grade, I may be unfair so read and judge for yourself. It's a premier tourist attraction for the city and if you like rides, I don't, there are plenty to choose from in an amazingly small area. If you are 3-7years old, there are all kinds of rides, stores, exhibitis, etc and it must be heaven. But everything costs money, so I'm not sure how parents feel about Liseberg. Concerts feature past prime stars, we saw Kris Kristofferson this summer, I didn't know he was still alive, bit he seemed like a nice guy, joyful, and I admire his songwriting talent. Going during the julmarknad during Christmas should have been fun but it was so crowded and there were too many stressed people there, they spoiled the spirit of Christmas for me. There were booths selling cheeses, sill, reindeer meat, furs, trinkets, vague renaissance faire-viking horn goblets and woolen slippers, roughly made toys, candies etc. All expensive, and for better value and experience, go instead to Saluhallen for the foodstuffs, or to one of the Viking fairs during the summer. For me, Christmas is when everyone should be a little kinder, more generous, but no, while waiting in line to see the Swedish Santa "tomten" a pappa tried to run me over with his carriage. When I tried to push the carriage off my foot so I could hop out of the way, he freaked out because he was going to miss gettimg his photo and I dared to touch his carriage and refused to get out of his way. The fact was I COULDN'T get away because my boot was stuck under his wheel. He kept pushing and yelling instead.of letting me get free. It got ugly and I was sad. The other parents and grandparents standing around shook their heads in disapproval making clucking sounds, but here is the difference between Sweden and America, no security, no phone filming of his behavior, no calling of police, no verbal support from onlookers to tell the guy to chill and let me know I wasn't alone in this public display of rage and violence. Not one worker appeared to see what was happening. Most of the workers seemed bored and tired, not Christmas cheerful, so I think it will be my last time there for Christmas. I don't know if it's the crowd or Liseberg's fault for not designing an atmosphere and experience that is joyful because I've been there several times with work during summer, both when the whole park was open just for us and when we went as a large group, and we had a great time, especially with the Femkamp coupon book where you compete in games.of skill and chance. I give it 3 stars in general, 1 star for Christmas. read more

Yaaay...the best amusement park I've ever been to. It has everything for everyone and lures out the most stubborn child from within. Almost every year, Liseberg surprises with a new attraction and this year it was Helix's turn. This monstreous ride had a budget of somewhat 200 million swedish krona and I must say-it's sooo worth it. Such an amazing ride, that you'll never forget. Liseberg has more to it, the wooden roller coaster Balder has a steep slope of 70 degrees that makes your stomach turn upside-down. Then you have Kanonen which accelerate your heart out, and then Flumride and Atmosfear which throws you up to see entire Gothenburg from its highest point..... Liseberg is soo much fun and if reading this makes you queezy, don't worry- you can always visit Gasten which is the haunted house of Liseberg with real actors. The house is worth a visit, not only for the thrill but also for the beautiful decor and the great actors that sometime sneak up on peole in the middle of the park. Still not hooked? Then you got the pentathlon game which you can do with some friends and have time for a beer or two in the various beer places around the park. Hungry? Then you go everything from Burger King and vegetarian buffé to fancy dining with white linen cloths. Did I mention the waffle bakery or even the dancing area? Hooked? Scandinavia's largest amusement park! It is artistically and tastefully designed, quite enjoyable to stroll through even if you don't want to go on rides. What I'd really like is one of those unnaturally big Toblerone chocolate bar (3 feet at least?) that is one of the prizes you can win. I would probably say that if you're in Göteborg, you just have to make it out to Liseberg. It's like your traditional Scandinavian amusement park - full of rides, vendors, lights at night, and shops. I went during the winter, so it was insanely cold. They had reindeers and various other animals live and in sausage form. Roasted, sugared mandel (almonds), delicious flavors of honey, reindeer sausage, and churros. Last I went all the rides come free with a ticket, unlike Tivoli in Copenhagen. read more

Liseberg is a must for Tourists visiting Gothenburg for the first time. Its very easy accessible by tram and are situated in the middle of Gothenburg. Its not big compared to international theme parks in europe and in the U.S. Even though there are some nice thrillrides for the grown ups there are mostly fun things for kids between 4-12. Prices are high (as usual on these places) both for the rides as well as food and drinks. Something that are better here then the U.S themeparks is that the entrance is pretty cheap (around 90 sek/10 €/12 $) wich makes it somewhat better for parents that doesnt ride themselfes since you only have to buy the expensive ride bracelets for the kids. Oh and during peak season there are LOTS of people and LONG lines. read more

Liseberg is amazing! Helix is one of the best rides I've tried! Worth the line (but if possible you should buy tickets online in advance, you'll get to pick three "fast-passes" that let's you skip the line). For food I would recommend The Green Room, a vegetarian buffet restaurant. Really good veggie food, about 140 SEK per head, eat as much as you like. Go have fun! read more

Liseberg is somewhere that actually has fun activities for people of all ages. It's not just rollercoasters - in the summer they have music concerts, sing alongs and at Christmas there is a lovely market. It's one of the major tourist attractions in Gothenburg but it's definitely still worth doing... and if you're living in Gothenburg and like amusement parks then you should definitely think about investing in a gold pass. read more
