Quick and expedient service; we came here because we found a blade we lost on the ranch over a year…read moreago. Lucky us! We followed the directions listed here, but unfortunately, it took us to the post office. After calling the number, we were informed that the Sharpening services were at FARM SUPPLY!! How lucky again are we to be able to go to Farm Supply on this very Tuesday. Note: Blade Runner services is in SLO on Tuesdays at Farm Supply and at the farmer's market in Paso on Saturdays. Hours may change so always call the phone number listed here. Service took less than 5 minutes to renew, sharpen, and our Benchmade was good as new! Very decent pricing, and charming funny dude. Recommend!

This was about 6 years ago. I am only writing this now because I recently found the knives he…read moredisfigured and thought I should warn others. I took several knives to his truck at the Cambria Farmers Market. When I picked them up, I could immediately see two of them were smaller and misshapen. He happily charged me and made no mention of the disfiguring he had done. When I brought him the knives, they were in good condition and only needed light sharpening. He removed about 1/16" from each, which is about 150 times more metal than necessary. I could tell by looking at the heel of one, and by comparing the other to an equivalent knife. He gave one of them a wavy profile so it cuts poorly against a cutting board and must be reprofiled. I came back later with the worse of the two, to point out what he had done. He told me that he might've looked away from what he was doing for too long. He used an electric machine capable of rapid metal removal. He asked me if I wanted him to reshape the knife and I declined. No other offers were made. One of the knives he disfigured was a precious gift my mother had received from a friend many years ago.

May seem reasonable and quality of work may even be good, but not worth the emotionally abusive…read morenature of any interactions with this businessman. He appears nice and friendly- maybe a little too casual, but i guess is abut unhinged and angry inside. A customer just wants acknowledgement, promptness and end of story- not your drama. This business owner's unprofessional, and belittling demeanor made me surprisingly uncomfortable. ------------------------------- May have been busy or stressed, but this does not mean you should ignore customers and patronize them when they make a kind request, calling them "Miss Special, or Mrs Important." Without going into details about he, he didn't even start my service, which was one quick pair of shears-I left and said I'd be back-but didn't even acknowledge me. When I came back later was chitchatting with someone with a lot of knives still did his thing and didn't acknowledge me and finally reached out to grab a piece of equipment and at this point, I knew he hadn't even done my shears and I had to leave. He angrily spouted something about "I have all this Shi! to..." First, patronizing me and then shouting epithets at me?!? He not only failed to communicate at all, but to call a spade a spade, gaslit me on an attempt to kind of "put me in my place. " I'm still flabbergasted an hour later. I recommend a lot of caution to anyone considering his services, and I hate to say this, especially a woman-- as a whole interaction was a waste of my time, but more so felt dismissive and mocking. Toxic Business Owner Perplexed about everything, I mentioned this to several teacher friends of mine, one who speculated that this man may have been racist- which is scary to me- because I've never encountered any such thing in my area.
