I go to an amazing place in Lansing normally and they achieve perfection each time and charge less...so I tried to hide my shock but I couldn't exactly decide not to get them after they were already glued down. I watched as the lady wasted a ton of product, left one hand a completely different shape than the other, and my thumb nails longer than the others. I had to ask her to adjust some of the shapes. I left to realize that the polish was uneven. Got home just to grab my file. I won't be going here again. However, she did do a great job scraping off calluses with a razor (they can't do that anymore in IL salons). Manicure was your basic manicure, however, I am super picky about how my nails are filed, and I wish I had asked her to give me a finer file so I could do the final smoothing out. I did not and of course have found rough spots that will probably get filed down later today. Oh well, that's my own pickiness and problem. Real reason for only 3 stars is the price. $40 for mani pedi is rather expensive, and this is coming from Chicago people! Our usual places at home are much less expensive! They don't have swarovski crystals to put on nails like back on cali but she said if I bought them and brought them in, they could put them on for me. So it was nice of them to try and accommodate me. I showed a picture of what I wanted and Tia got it perfect. Pricing is about the same as cali but you pay what you get for. I had my nails done once before and I never chipped or broke any nails when Tia did them for me. I only get gel nails so this review is only for gel nails. I also got a pedicure and it was okay. I soaked for a nice long time, but my pedicure was not good, my foot scrub lasted about 3 minutes, she did not even try to get the dead skin off. The foot massage was also very brief. The polished job was horrible! I think the polish was old... the polish job was all streak, looked like my granddaughter did it!! I called the salon and told them what the problem was and they told me to come in and they would take care of it. I went in, advised them I called and would like my polish redone. They made me feel very uncomfortable, they were all looking at my feet and speaking their language, I felt I did something wrong! I felt that was very rude! They re polished them for me.
