Extremely disappointed with my wedding flowers that I ordered from Slinders. The lady who I placed the order with at the Sittingbourne branch was very friendly and I took photos in so was confident that I would get exactly what I wanted. I watched her write out the order and attach the photos to the back and she was then going to send it on to the Rochester branch who do all of the wedding flowers. It was such a simple but elegant bouquet that I really didn't think anything would go wrong. How wrong was I!!!!! The flowers arrived before I did at the hotel on my wedding day and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. My flowers which were supposed to be large calla lillies actually consisted of a few wilted calla lillies which were so small they matched the size of the button holes and the rest of the bouquet was made up of greenery. My bridesmaids bouquet which was supposed to be one large calla lilly tied with natural hessian ribbon again looked like a button hole surrounded by greenery and it was tied together with the largest red ribbon I have ever seen. Why they decided that they would ignore the request for the natural ribbon and use a large red ribbon that didn't come into my wedding colours at all is beyond me. We had to remove the ribbon and as we had nothing else to tie round it, we had to make sure that our young bridesmaid constantly kept her hand over it so that you couldn't see where they were tied. It caused me undue stress on our wedding day as naturally I wanted everything to be perfect but I then had to walk in with a wilted bouquet that I thought looked cheap and to be honest quite embarrassing. I e-mailed Slinders a week or so after our wedding when I had returned from our honeymoon telling them how disappointed I was and asking why they had quoted me for something that they obviously couldn't do and to ask why they had made the decision to use a ridiculous red ribbon but they didn't even have the decency to respond to me so their customer service was just as poor. I won't use them again and I certainly won't recommend them to anybody. If they'd at least responded and apologised it wouldn't have been so bad but they couldn't even be bothered to do that. I am only giving them one star as I can't give any less and also because the lady taking my order in Sittingbourne was helpful and polite. It appears that Rochester got it very wrong indeed. I will pop into Sittingbourne next time I'm there and see if I get a better response that way! In the meantime, be very careful as you won't necessarily get what you ask for! read more
