Though as with anywhere offering a service I expect to be made feel at ease. I was booked in for an eyebrow wax. Initially the clinic itself feels wonderful and calming, great selection of magazines to leaf through while you wait, modern and clean, above the street so feels very intimate. This is a quick procedure, I didn't expect to be kept longer than 10 minutes. In reality I was less than 5, from entering the room and being back on the street again. The blonde girl, called out my name and when I answered she started marching toward the room I was to receive my wax in, she briskly walked down the corridor without acknowledging me. She went through all the procedure of waxing, while remaining coldly polite. I felt uncomfortable, detecting a note of hostility. I told her what I specifically wanted, she didn't ask me to show her where I wanted to wax my eyebrows, or no consultation on what shape I desired. I was confused, and had barely time to adjust to my unfamiliar surroundings when she was done, she pushed the mirror into my hands and when I okayed it, she was at the desk by the time I'd gathered my bag and coat and paid my €10. On inspection at home, she hadn't fully waxed my brows in the places I had pointed out. I was made to feel more like an inconvenience than a valued customer. I would not go back, nor recommend it to anyone.

Voya Seaweed baths are an absolute must if you are in the Strandhill area. A seaweed bath is a…read moretruly unique spa experience and Voya serves to give you the best one. The spa itself is lovely, a very welcoming reception greets you, with water and coffee for patrons. The Voya products are displayed in the reception and the staff are very helpful discussing the products. Trust me, I asked a lot of questions! We booked in for the double deluxe bathing room, which had two baths with two showers/steam units (€60). The baths are free standing baths and they were filled halfway with perfect temperature water and of course, the seaweed. The staff member who showed us our suite, explained that the seaweed will release a gelatinous substance that we were encouraged to rub into our skin and hair. The properties of seaweed are pretty extensive, such as anti aging and relief for aches and pains etc. In total we had 50 mins in the room, so that broke down to about 45 mins in the bath and a quick 5 min shower. The shower had all the Voya products, so I enjoyed testing them. You are recommended to pat the skin dry after the bath, but I hopped in the shower to test the products. The only downside to the facility is the lack of a relaxation suite for after your bath/treatment. I would have loved to put on a robe and to sit and relax for an hour. I felt a bit rushed out the door once my time was done. I just didn't want the experience to end. I picked up a few of the Voya products on my way out, really excited to try them. I'd read another review that mentioned it was hard to get dressed while wet, so even though it was a pain, it wasn't a surprise. However, when I asked for the loo, I was shown to a changing room that had spacious showers, lockers, robes and flip flops. Had we gone there first, the experience would have been so much nicer!
