Essentially, buyer beware. If you don't watch all 20 of their you tube videos you will be surprised by what arrives which is overpriced junk. There are a myriad of far better products, better priced on the internet. I thought this being a "custom" product it would be superior. I was very wrong. If you think you're getting bottom mount glides you aren't. Your invoice will add a line item calling out L brackets in order to make the glides attach to a bottom. nowhere does the site alert you to this bait and switch scenario. Any company that takes this many shortcuts for a product at this price point is not one you want to do business with. . I am a General Contractor and order for the first time from Slide Out Shelves in Arizona. They request the exact clear opening of the cabinet and the depth. I ordered 4 of which two were bottom mount. Once I received them they were the exact size of the opening. One big problem! When you install the brackets for the bottom mount it no longer fits the cabinet. I have emailed them several times and no response. There are many other companies out there such as Sublime design that sell a custom product and they stand behind their product. I would not recommend Slide Out Shelves, they are a rip off, and refuse to answer the customer. If you want quality with service go to Sublime Design. I had 20 drawers installed for approx $80 per drawer. I knew i would love the drawers but i truly love them more than i knew i would. Liked the look of the product. Not installed yet so the shelves may be perfect I don't know. However when the installers did not show up today and I called the office I was told that I told them I was not available today and it was rescheduled to February 2. Uh, NO. I am not senile or even forgetful and even if I was I put every appointment on may Outlook calendar. So maybe in her brain calendar it was February 2 but that conversation never took place in reality. Also, office personnel is not trained on product even though she is often the only one there to answer questions. Don't know if this is lack of training or of interest. In any case I have plans for more closet organization. I quotes I have gotten are expensive and I intended to have Slide out Shelves quote me as well but I will move forward with a different company. Horrible customer service. We liked their product pictures online so we designed our cabinets around these shelves. We had a simple order for the company of 4 shelves. We sent a very detailed email to the company including pictures and measurements and asked very specifically "How many spacers we would need and what kind" as well as some questions about the opening. The company wrote back the same day and after some back and forth that was helpful, answered none of our questions about spacers, but instead simply said "you can buy 3/8" and 1/8" spacers in the hardware section"... Thanks, but we already knew that, what we still don't know is how many spacers are needed for each shelf? 1, 2, 4? We called several times and had several unanswered emails. This went on for a month. We sent them an email on Sunday asking for our questions to be answered, no reply at all... We called, the woman on the phone was helpful. She finally told us how many spacers would be needed, we were almost ready to make the order, but she had one more question about which spacers to use. She put me on hold and then apparently the manager or owner came on the phone and said the reason he did not reply to our email is because he doesn't like "confrontation" and he said we were rude and he hadn't sent one word responses... Apparently the fact that he had given us so little information that we were STILL unable to finalize the order after a month evaded him. He then told us because of our rude email he would not be willing to serve us... I'll leave the email here so Yelp customers can decide for themselves if my email was rude after getting ZERO questions answered after a MONTH of back and forth. Considering the inability to listen to their customers questions and answer them after a month of back and forth, I think our email asking for actual help that will actually enable us to finalize the order after a month was quite restrained. Sadly the owner is a very rude man always trying to prove a point that he is more right than you more than he's trying to serve his customers. I'll happily take my business everywhere which the company repeatedly stated to me. It was clear they would rather start a huge fight with me than to simply fill an order. Absolutely unbelievable way of running a business. The owner chose to fight with me and start an argument rather than make money. RUN! This guy is so incredibly frustrating you will just end up like us with over a month wasted and still no shelves. Here is the email I sent asking for help after a month of being ignored or receiving worthless answers that have nothing to do with the questions asked. This is the email that was apparently so incredibly rude that he was unable to do business with me because he doesn't like "confrontation". If you don't like confrontation, I would assume you would be able to answer a simple question from your customer so they can place an order with you. If we don't get a clear helpful answer on this we will be forced to order from a competitor. I called the Chino Valley number, they set up an appointment for a few days later, he showed up as scheduled. All my kitchen shelves were installed one week later. He had good ideas on what styles to do and not to do. I especially like the divided one for pan lids. And the one that is a box for all my plastic containers and lids so they don't fall off the sides when I pull it out. I've had them for a few months and wish I had done it sooner. Gave me more space because the top shelves were half shelves (now full shelves) and I can easily get to the back of all shelves. I ordered over $1000 in shelving and installation accessories on 8/6/11. When the shipment arrived two of the shelves were damaged. One of them had minor damage (a separated joint which I repaired) while the other was cracked and I didn't feel I could repair it. I called Slide Out Shelves and they voluntarily shipped me a replacement shelf. The replacement arrived on 8/19/11 and also had damage. I contacted Slide Out Shelves concerning the damaged replacement shelf and sent them photographs of the damage. The representative stated the following via email: "Thank you for the pictures, the box doesn't look THAT bad except it is very obvious that they dropped it directly on its edge hard enough for the wood to crack, and it looks cracked on the bottom which can be re-glued and placed as the rear which would not render the shelf unusable or cosmetically undesirable, we will send out another Monday". Slide Out Shelves also requested that I send the damaged replacement shelf back to them and they provided me a UPS shipping label to do so. The email I received from the Slide Out Shelves representative stated: "UPS decided not to do an inspection on the first shelf so that one can be disposed of. This recent shelf does not seem to have significant damage to ask UPS to warrant a claim, but we are sending you a replacement shelf and will be asking UPS to pick this recent shelf up from you and send it back to us. We will send out a replacement on Monday and ask that you repackage this recent shelf and make it available on your doorstep etc for the UPS driver to pick up also on Monday." The second replacement arrived without issue and the first replacement went back to Slide Out Shelves. During this time I placed a second order for over $200 of additional shelves and accessories on 8/21/11. All items that were in the second order arrived without problems. On 2/05/12 I placed a third order for two shelves and accessories. I initially received an order invoice via email but then received another email on the same day stating that the order had been cancelled. I received an additional email stating the following: "Hello Mr Nichols Based upon our previous experience shipping product to this address and inspecting product that was not acceptable, we feel that it is not possible to fill this order Thank you Rick" I emailed Slide Out Shelves on 2/6/12 to ask that they reconsider this decision and received no response. I then called on 2/07/12 and spoke with Rick and was told that Slide Out Shelves didn't feel that the damage to the shelf which was returned to them warranted replacement and therefore would not do business with me. read more

Odd for me, I ordered here before checking Yelp. In this case, glad I did. My kitchen needs some slide-out shelves. When window shopping on this, I got some great help from Anthony Hantz at Home Depot, Redmond WA. A couple of months later when I got serious, I was much closer to Bothell so tried Home Depot there, and after a moderate wait I got pretty much no help, so decided to try elsewhere. I ordered 4 slide out shelves from SOS. They all came exactly as promised, crazy fast. I even changed my order the day after I placed it and they were able to accommodate the change. The shelves were packed great, perhaps due to the previous reviews - but shipping wasn't cheap ($55) so I expected good packing I suppose. The ordering web site was pretty easy to use. My nit would be that I ordered all of my shelves 1" too shallow (they work fine but I could use the inch) because I didn't understand I could measure all the way over the front lip of my cabinets. Lesson learned but I think the site could have made it a bit more clear. My shelves cost between $33 and $43 each depending on size, plus $9 extra for premium mounting hardware per shelf. Plus the shipping. The install directions were a bit tiny, but made sense and I was able to follow them and do the install no problem. It'd be nice if they'd specify the drill bit size as that'd have saved me a few minutes. Overall I was pretty impressed and plan on using them again. read more

Buyer Beware! We were getting three estimates for slide out shelves in a new home we will be moving to in Gilbert. This company advertises 10 shelves, installed, for $499. We already had a quote from a competitor and had an appointment with third company the following week. Following the measurements, we were told the price had recently increased, but he would honor the $499 if we agreed immediately. (Note: The same advertised price we responded to, appeared a few days later in the May edition of The Home Mag.) If we did not act immediately, the price would be $50 more. It was clearly a closing tactic and I indicated I was insulted by it. I also explained we had an appointment with a competitor and felt obligated to honor it and would compare the three offers. He said it was company policy to offer the advertised price only at time of the measurement. We declined to act at that time and he did email a quote that evening with the additional $50 added. We decided we did not want to do business with any company using such a tactic and instead, paid more to do business with a competitor, (Roll-Out Drawers,) who we highly recommend. They offer a better product at roughly the same price without the pressure tactic. I do not recommend doing business with Slide Out Shelves when there are other, more reasonable vendors. read more

I had an unruly pantry and my husband said I would lose space by putting shelves in- what I lost (minimally) in space I gained in sanity, as everything is now organized and I can easily see what I need or don't need. The install/sales guy came out promptly and the shelves were installed within a week. The price was right for what I got. I think the shelves could be better 'looking'- the birch is blah. Color options would be nice, and having to snail mail a check in is so 1980's- Paypal is your friend people! The shelves work well and are of good quality. They come unfinished, so you will need some plastic wood to fill in the nail holes and varnish. The installation is not very difficult but the instructions are not great. They would benefit greatly by adding one or two diagrams. I ordered two 3 1/2 tall pullout shelves with full extension slides for my bathroom vanity, and I am completely satisfied with them. The shelves were shipped the day after I ordered them, and they arrived in perfect condition. The shipping box had reinforced corners. The shelves and hardware were tied tightly together with plastic wrap so nothing could move, and everything was packed in a nest of heavy-duty bubble wrap. The shelves were protected against shipping damage as well as I have ever seen. I was pleased with the quality of workmanship of the shelves. They were well constructed, and the clearcoat finish was perfect. We have a DeWils vanity, and these shelves looked good in it. They were low-cost, but they don't look cheap. I received excellent service from Slide Out Shelves. I called for help to make sure my measurements were OK before ordering online, and I called again for help as I was doing the installation. I got help right away, and the service was courteous and efficient. They answered my questions and solved my problem. The measuring guide and installation video on the website are very clear. I had the installation video on my iPad right beside me when I installed my bottom mounted drawer slides. Click on the YouTube button at the bottom of the video, and you can see a full-screen version of the video. That's what I did. I am a happy Slide Out Shelves customer. I purchased a spice rack from this company. We purchased a "base mount", and actually paid extra for it since the space was small. We have a face framed cabinet, which is what this product calls for. The spice rack was weakly constructed, flimsy and cheap. When we tried to put it in (it was NOT a base mount, it has L brackets that have to be screwed into the sides, and the pulls are on the SIDE, not at the base) it would not pull back out once it went in. And since the measurements were to be within 1/16 of an inch, there was no way to get it out once it was stuck other than to take the front off. We spoke to the owner of the company that was irate, and yelled at us. When I submitted my order, I put in the order instructions the exact dimensions to the 1/16in to confirm it would fit the space. Regardless, the owner has been hostile and irreconcilable. While I tried on multiple attempts to remedy to situation, his hostility has led me to review his product, craftsmanship of poor construction and lack to communicate with the customer on multiple issues with the purchase. We will NEVER order from this company again and intend to file a complaint in full. I even offered to rebuy the product If he could help make this right and get us the right mounts at the base. I ordered some shelves. One of my items came damaged. The item was one that I had messed up measuring so, I reordered. I asked them if they would be able to work with me, and count one of the re-orders vs sending out a shelf that I could not use. I made the mistake so I reordered the right sizes, I asked if they could work with that. They did not respond to that question. They send me the replacement in my replacement order. I would figure that they would have been more reasonable in this matter. It is not like I was asking them to replace my bad measurements. I felt that since my damaged item was not something that I could use, they would allow my replacement to be one of my reorders. That would have been more fair. I even took pictures as it came out of the box. Not cool. I expected better customer service. They would not even give me a store credit in lieu of, and got cheaped out by lumping the unneeded item with the needed items to save on shipping. read more

A friend called me to help determine what was wrong with his attempt to install three shelves from Slide Out Shelves, LLC. He had carefully measired his space, so was at a loss as to why he couldn't get the shelves to fit the tracks. I pointed out to him that the sides of the enclosure where he was installing the shelving had to be relieved to allow the sheet metal brackets to be flush against the side-- there are four embossed areas which allow the use of flat head screws. I relieved the four areas for each bracket and mounted the brackets-- they were then absolutely flush with the wall, and the shelf WOULD HAVE worked perfectly except that some (not all) of the screws securing the rail to the bottom of the drawer were not installed straight. This caused one side of the screw head(s) to protrude, interfering with the sliding action, as the protruding screw hit the outer rail screws as the shelf moved in and out. We called the manufacturer and he would not acknowledge even the possibility of a manufacturing problem, and was surly and rude, hanging up on us. So, Mr. Manufacturer, since I have designed and built custom furniture, let me make a suggestion: provide your assembly line folks with Vix bits and have them pre-drill the holes for the rail mounting. Properly done, this will ensure that the flat head screws will properly seat in the recesses in the sheet metal brackets, and the screw-to-screw interference will be a non-issue. I was impressed with the overall quality of the product, except for this minor assembly glitch.
