No needless waiting or wasted time, usually in 10-15 minutes your paint is ready to go. The neighborhood is run down and parking is in a lot next to the building (which was formerly another building that got knocked down.) They have been around for a very long time and it is nice to know that I have an automotive paint supply store in my town (I could ride a bike or walk there if I really wanted to). The parking lot is the foundation of a building that was knocked down. The neighborhood is a little run down. It is really easy to pass the store up while driving on Halsted. Storefront: Inside the store, there are a number of old automobile parts hanging on the wall; old doors, fenders, grilles, ect. There is a small amount of general automotive parts and accessories within the store; Motor oil, automotive detailing chemicals, hose clamps, ect. The entire back counter is completely dedicated to automotive paints. Store Personnel: There are usually about 5-7 employees behind the counter. This is part of the reason I have given Monarch Auto Supply, Inc such a high rating. There is an adequate number of employees, and they are extremely knowledgeable! They take their time to explain answers to any questions asked, they really know what they are talking about, and give very helpful advice. It seems each one of these employees could operate their own store. Specialty: For anyone wishing to paint their own car, touch up scratches, patch rust, undercoat, or detail their car, this is the best place to go. Everything for painting is sold here; spray guns, undercoating kits, primers, paints, thinners, hardeners, sanders, buffers, ect. They are capable of mixing exact match colors. Also matching color based upon model of car, year, and type. All mixing is done "in-house", and the wait time is only about 10-15 minutes. They are also able to mix small and large quantities of paint. The best part about Monarch is that they do not only sell to businesses. Summary: This is the best place to go for automotive painting supplies because of the expert staff, paint mixing facility, and because everything needed for automotive painting is all in this one location. The guy who waited on them was extremely rude to the point my son had to tell him not to talk to him that way. My husband who is a retail manager for another operation came home and told me how rude the guy was. The employee went on to tell them, I'm not doing that I'm by myself. My son told me, excuse me sir I don't know how your system works and you will not talk to me this way. I want to put this out here, because I know how some people are treated in various areas of suburbans. When we visit the O'Reillys in Oak Forest, they are extremly respectful, professional and intelligent, unlike this staff member in the Chicago Heights, Western Avenue Store. My suggestion is if you don't want to work or you are stressed due to circumstances beyond the customers controll, please do the customers a favor and stay at home.
