We had ordered Dough balls and just 1 Romana base Pollo Ad Astra. We waited for almost an hour but the pizza never arrived. Annoyingly we had to request the waiter again and with quite reluctance we were told that it would be ready in another 5 minutes. Another 10 minutes had passed with no response. Finally when we started to leave, the waiter just signed from the far end of the kitchen that he will be bringing the pizza. Another couple who had arrived at least 15 minutes later and seated next to our table got their order of 2 pizzas quite fast. This was so annoying to watch this utter racist behaviour from the staff. We requested to talk to the manager and when she arrived, she quite reluctantly apologised with little care about how our day was completely ruined because of this experience. This is happening for the second time at this specific store. Not sure if Pizza Express is a racist chain across the whole of UK but we would never recommend it to anyone we know and I will specifically make it a priority to remove the option from my employer recommended choice for business parties. Hope this matter is taken seriously if the administration team really wants to succeed in this competitive market. Thank you (2022): Had to wait a long time (~30 minutes) to get our food while the place wasn't even fully crowded. At least the food wasn't too far off the standards compared to their other branches for which it gets the 1* We got soiled/used plates with pizza and even had to ask for the pizza cutter (I think it's common sense to provide one with a large pizza). It was a lot better a couple of years ago but maybe the pandemic and current economic conditions have really hit them hard. Sorry to say but I cannot recommend this specific store to anyone and will probably not be visiting here myself even though I live in the area.

I paid an extra 1.5 to get the better pizza and it tasted like the cheap $3 microwaveable pizza from the grocery store. The funny thing is the standard pizza was a little better like little caesars in the us. The appetizers were bad but not terrible. They have a big card and many dishes to choose from, ranging from starters, pastas, raviolis, pizzas, etc. I had spaghetti with red sauce and some green salad on the side. The pasta was cooked properly, but sauce was pretty bland and didnt have much taste, except for strong garlic taste. The service was nice and friendly and the started and drinks were good. If you want a good Italian, then skip this one.

We made it to the table and was ready to order,then 1 staff approached us only to tell us that we need to go out and wait outside then we must talk first to the front desk personnel( i didn't see anyone though) before we can have the seats. I said we didn't know that we have to do that but she insisted that we must go out. We are new nurses in this country and we felt offended by the staff's words.I felt that it's rude.

This was a great light breakfast - filling, memorable, and lots of good tasty bits. The cafe is clean and spacious. and also serves salads and main meals (see my menu photo), and service wasn't gushing but was cordial. This area of Crawley is well served by the local Metro buses from Gatwick and nearby hotels, including their 10 and 100 Fastway lines.

Whilst I appreciate circumstances delay delivey, when I rang to ask the ETA I was told its almost with me and arrive half hour later....... Cold....... hard........ unappetizing - I rang the store again and said at what point do you offer a refund he said he couldnt help and had to email customer services - the website did not recognise my log ins so emailed instead. Waiting for the Pizza whilst I finish the skins and a tall Samuel Adams. Now I like Hot and Spicy food, and I was surprised that it was. Looks like Serrano peppers. Location: placed in a really inopportune place (just opposite Taj Mahal and a bit further down) this is basically the area of town most businesses die, they pop up and finish. it's just a bit from the high street that you won't randomly come across it unless you're walking from the railway pub -which makes the success of this place purely down to reputation and very little walk in i'd hazard a guess. Food: Yes, this food is good, fresh fish, and the other day they actually cooked me something not on the menu that they suggsted, which was rather good of them (wasn't too busy), nice selection Service: Fantastic, I always seem to get the same gentleman who is nothing more than polite and joyful. Once he gave me the wrong desert, but I didn't mind. Note: Almost every time i've been i've been offered a shot of limoncello complimentary - when i've been driving its been a sad moment to turn it away. Atmosphere: This is where I would say its not my scene, but it is probably my families. It has sort of a early 00s vibe, in terms of decor, and furnishings. The architecture of the build doesn't lend itself to a warm environment (one long room). But these things never deter me, as it is an odd gem in Crawley, a see of chains has overwhelmed the town, and Taormina has succeeded against the odds!
