The hospital said the root canal didn't even appear treated, and it was so infected to the point where an OVERNIGHT HOSPITAL STAY was needed. I proceeded to have to change dentistry out of insurance change necessity, they took a few xrays and cleaned/checked my teeth and proceeded to tell me I had (literally) 10 cavities that had been long overdue for fillings that have been clearly neglected by this "doctor". They told me he had no cavities and that I was doing a great job brushing his teeth which was good to hear. I guess if you don't mind your children going back without you and just take the doctors word for it as to what they did or how comfortable your child was during the visit then this place may be fine for you. They did do a great job at putting silver caps on 6 of his teeth! His teeth grew in without enamel so had to get outpatient work at Hurley with Dr. Alan Klein. However I won't be coming back. Feels like buying a new car without taking a look at it before you drive off or even giving it a test drive. I'll keep my routine visits and regular dental work elsewhere as I prefer to be with my child and see what they do. Otherwise great surgeon. Just my personal preference.

Just because Dr. Hawley saw something unusual on the x-ray and took the time to take more x-rays to get a better view and investigate. To make a long story short, something very serious and invasive was caught early at my routine exam. Something that could have destroyed my face. I still have to go to the University of Michigan to have the situation monitored every year. Dr. Hawley has been there for me every step of the way. Referring me to the best oral surgeons -- her friends and contacts -- and always asking if I'm keeping up with my check-ups at U of M. Having a "relationship" with a doctor is not something that is offered much in our fast paced world anymore. First Impressions is highly recommended.
