We had boarding reservations for a week starting this past Saturday and going till next Sunday. I called and confirmed last Monday to make sure there was no problem. Everything seemed fine at the time. I took my dogs to them Saturday morning to drop them off, and there was a sign on the door saying they were short staffed and would be closed. I had not received a call or any kind of notification whatsoever and was supposed to be leaving town for our vacation. I understand that things happen but they have my name and number and knew that I had a boarding reservation and they should have called and let us know something was going on so we could make other arrangements. They left us in a huge bind and that is not good business. I will not be bringing my dogs back here!

My 10 year old "baby" dog has battled an autoimmune disease (I now know) for years. She was treated but never really got better. Dr. Sims has made more difference in her health in the last month than the years of treatment she has received. I didn't realize how much could be done to help her until he took the time to explain things and give her a thorough work up. I am humbled and amazed after each visit by his kind heart, sweet spirit, and medical savvy. My Maine Coon Jimi Hendrix (I know!!!) has several previously undiagnosed conditions that Dr. Sims is working methodically to correct. His staff goes above and beyond to accommodate your schedule and treat you with kindness and sincerity. I am so thankful to have this medical team in our lives.

They ask if shes been shaved before how did she handle it. She does fine shes calm doesn't fight, I already bathed her so she just needed the shave which takes maybe 2 to 3 minutes. I am sitting there over an hour watching as people come and go. I finaly get up and ask when theres only one other person in waiting area whats up? They FORGOT to sign me in... Ok I keep my cool the man goes in the back to ask what to do. Im expecting to be put in front of all the other dogs I saw go by while waiting hearing they need baths and full body shaves...I had an appointment, its like a 2 to 3 minute thing....and they FORGOT to sign me in right? oh no. he comes back sorry we are fully booked and since we FORGOT to sign you in we took others ahead of you. You can leave her here and we will get to her before we close. No. Anyone who has a cat knows how stressful it is for them to be brought to the vet you want her to wait and suffer for hours over a 2 to 3 minute shave? The professional thing to do at that point would be to say im sorry we fucked up to make it right we will quickly see your cat shave her and you can pay and go; not sorry you and your cat will suffer for our mistake. Train your people, it is common sense in business to right your wrongs, which could have been easily fixed in this issue. Not sure how they are with regular vet visits but their people/business skills are horrid.

Bark Porch was the only groomer that was responsive to phone calls, was polite, and figured out a way to fit our pup in. The business is clean, efficient, and so kind. They were able to give our Ginger a great cut, and enjoyed her. As an Aussie, this takes a different kind of patience, and they promptly scheduled us for another appointment to keep her on schedule. For COVID-19, the business and staff where face masks, adheres to no contact (you take the collar and leash with you), and only allows one person in the store front at a time. The parking situation is difficult, so be prepared to navigate a tight parking spot. My favorite part is that they text you a picture of your pup when there are finished (see the photo)!! This is a top notch groomer that is personable and provides excellent service.

We had the best two vets in the area, so we wanted the same when we moved. Well, we found this vet after doing some research. Dr. McMillan is a jewel. However, we can absolutely tell you Dr Ray is one of the most kind and knowledgeable vets we have encountered. His kindness and opinions are just what pet owners want and need. Our Boxer was diagnosed with a mast cell cancer tumor. He called and gave us a detailed explanation of the diagnosis and what we should consider. He made the connection with us with the detailed information we needed, she needed surgery. When he said "is she were mine, I'd do the surgery", we of course said sign her up. Long story short she is as good as new. I absolutely know it was a due to the care received by Dr. Ray and the entire staff. They continued to follow up with us on her progress and to make sure she had appointments to check on her progress. We are so thankful and grateful for their professionalism and the sincere care they provided. Wouldn't have had it any other way. Couldn't have asked for better, they are a God send a true blessing.

I have a good relationship with him like most of his customers. I take all mine there and have had nothing but success. They are there in the mornings but the Dr. comes in at 10 or so. We live across the street from the Birmingham Animal Hospital & Resort. It just opened up. We can…read moreliterally walk our dog there. My dog, a 6-year-old French Bulldog is reactive. That means it is very hard to deal with at a Vet office. The owner met me one day and said, "Bring Otis in during your walk. We will give him treats and he can get familiar with our place. I did just that, and Otis started to take me to the front door so he could see his new friends (unbelievable) and get treats. This morning, I took Otis in for an actual visit with the Vet. A vet assistant was educated in these kinds of dogs. She educated me, gave me some sedatives for the next visit and explained that these small bullies are simply like this sometimes. Otis got a shot for the flu (I highly recommend) stool sample, heart and teeth checked. He also got a q-tip in the ear. I had to hold him tight, but it was fine. The staff showed calm professionalism. The facility is pristine, and the parking is plentiful. They have day care, VIP Day care and boarding. Amazing place and so nice for us. I highly recommend.

Both dogs had a vaccine resistant kennel cough and had not been treated for it, one dog had pneumonia. I chose this place because it had a veterinary clinic attached and was assured my pets would be seen if needed. This definitely was not the case. I spent 3X the amount I spent on boarding trying to save my dogs from what they caught at this facility. The vet at the emergency care mentioned the volume of animals at the facility was probably a contributing factor. Never again! Don't be fooled by this new and modern looking place.

If possible you can take your pet to your regular vet as soon as you can. On a recent visit we brought our dog here on a holiday because he was in pain. They took care of him right away, ran a bunch of tests and left us know the diagnosis. They gave us an estimate of what the costs would be up front so we knew what we were in for. He spent the night and I picked him up first thing in the morning and took him to my local vet to finish his treatment. We also had another emergency with our older dog and they gave us our options. No judgment on our decision. I hope we never need them again but I'm glad they are here if we do.
