Before Hilliary came into our lives, we were really struggling with adjusting to life with two kids. Prior to working with Hilliary, our 9 year old (yes, NINE year old) needed my husband or I to lay with her to fall asleep. This required rubbing her back, singing, breathing exercises or some combination of the afore mentioned. Some nights, melatonin was also required. I think Hilliary is someone who makes dreams come true - literally! We have twins who are 9 months old. They would wake up almost every hour upon the hour (and with 2 of them, that is a lot of wakings!). We sometimes used night nurses to help us survive brutal nights but that got quite costly. My daughter's sleeping habits consist of sleeping in my arms or in my bed. My daughter was feeding to sleep, waking up every 2-3 hours throughout the night to eat or soothe herself. The first 3 nights were very hard for us and I never thought we were going to make it through the program. But to my surprise my daughter started to sleep on her own and through the night by the 4th night. I was completely SHOCKED and it's been life changing as I was able to have some "me" during naps and bedtime - I haven't had that since she was born. It's been almost a month since we started the program and my daughter has a consistent sleep schedule. I found that naps, meal time and keeping a routine is VERY important to be successful. Hilliary's sleep training program has been life changing! Our son refused to go to sleep in his crib at about 4 months old. We tried the cry it out method for 7-10 nights, letting him scream/cry for 44-55 minutes each night. He cried the entire time, made himself hoarse, and STILL didn't fall asleep, so I slept on the couch with him on my chest for 2 1/2 months until our pediatrician recommended Tranquil Beginnings. I was so nervous to start sleep training because I was feeding to sleep, offering a pacifier, and he was sleeping on my chest, but Hilliary was so supportive and reassuring every step of the way. Hilliary is seriously a miracle worker! My 2.5 year old was a champion sleeper...until we switched him to a big boy bed. Then every fight under the sun kicked in. Bedtime battles. Refusing to nap. Waking up at 4:30 in the morning. All of this led to a cranky toddler and exhausted parents. We had gone 4 months averaging 8-9 hours a night of broken sleep for our 10 month old, not to mention, unpredictable and difficult naps (holding her during the entire time). Hilliary was recommended to us by a neighbor when we expressed that our 11 month old was not sleeping through the night, was co-sleeping with us due to convenience, had to be rocked and held to sleep, and was still taking 1-2 bottles throughout the night. Hilliary was everything we needed! With a ten month old who was dependent on nursing for comfort we had gotten into a routine of cosleeping or sleeping in the crib for a few hours with multiple wakings before we went back to cosleeping. Working with Hilliary was one of the best life decisions we ever made. At 13 months old, our daughter Hallie was waking up multiple times a night and couldn't go back to sleep without nursing. We had hired Hilliary to sleep train our first baby, and we thought we had it down by the time our daughter came last year. We semi-successfully sleep trained her on our own when she was 5 months old, but she was still walking up at least twice a night to eat, and as she got older her sleep got worse due to digestive issues. once we addressed everything medical, we finally enlisted Hilliary to help us again just after our daughter turned a year old. At that point, she was waking up anywhere from 3-5 times a night and drinking up to 20 ozs overnight (face-palm). Our goals were to night-wean her and to get her to fall back asleep on her own if she woke up during the night. We were hesitant about contacting any sleep consultant because we knew our daughter didn't fit into the typical sleep formula that you read about in parenting books. We were in sheer desperation when one of my husband's friend's posted about Hilliary on their Instagram story. As cheesy as this sounds, the results have been life-changing for us. We went from living in a constant state of anxiety not knowing how long she would sleep for and not knowing what to do when she woke to being confident about putting her down for naps and knowing that she would be sleeping 11 and a half hours overnight. Hilliary was truly a godsend for my husband and I. We had her work her wonders on both our 3 year old and our 4 month old. As first time parents, we coddled the heck out of our first born and until we reached out to Hilliary, she wouldn't sleep in her own bed without one of us there and/or wouldn't sleep in her own bed at all.
