I requested late checkout when we checked in as a Bonvoy Gold member and it was honored which helped us to enjoy our last sunny day there. Location: Fantastic. On the boardwalk at 15th street with excellent view of the beach. In the ocean front room, we could hear the waves inside the room with the door open. Nice to sit on the balcony to watch the people and the ocean. Rooms: Recently remodeled, the rooms are modern, clean, and fresh feeling. Bed was comfortable. Microwave, refrigerator (no freezer), flat round coffee filter coffeemaker in the room, desk/chair, small couch that pulls out to a bed (can fit 2 people on the couch), footstool. Small balcony with two chairs. Some shade from balcony above. It would have been nice to have had a small table. Sliding door with screen. Blackout curtains. Our room was on the 3rd floor at the end. Amenities: - Outdoor pool across the streets. No umbrellas. Indoor pool with small "hot tub" that was the same temperature as the pool since it flowed into the pool. Water felt cool to me. Most times, families with small children were in the pool playing. Open 10 am - 10 pm. Small towels available by indoor pool. - Lobby had free, good coffee and tea from 7 am - 12 pm. Restaurant: - Captains Table restaurant open for breakfast (7:30 am - 11 am every day) and dinner (Sunday - Thursday, 4 - 9 pm, Fri & Sat 4 pm - 10 pm). We ate dinner, and the food was good. Savannah our waitress was very nice and helpful with getting more Bailey's added to my chocolate martini and giving us tips on where to go. - Small gym with weights, treadmill, bike. Things to Note: - $10/day parking. Garage is located under the hotel which is nice if it rains. - Lobby is upstairs on the 3rd floor - take the elevator or two staircases. - 3rd floor, lobby level is above the lowest rooms. See tips on ground floor rooms.

It was after midnight when I noticed this and I called down to the front desk for housekeeping to help but nobody was at the front desk. I went down to the front desk, and needed and looked for somebody for 10 minutes and nobody was around so called the main number for Marriott and was finally able to get through to the hotel receptionist who came out but was unable to provide anything other than a clean towel. I told him the least I needed was disinfected so I could clean the bathroom myself and after 15 minutes he brought some up to the room . I'm an ambassador Elite with Marriott and use points for the hotel so I certainly wasn't looking for room credits or anything else other than a basic apology but the manager never bothered to call or Reach Out and wow there's no excuse for a bloody towel which is an obvious health hazard to be hanging from my bathroom door without even an apology. This experience makes me consider boycotting Marriotts as a whole

The staff members were pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast area was nice, and I appreciated that it was decorated for the Fourth of July, which added a festive touch. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the Ocean City Boardwalk, but it's conveniently located directly across the street from the beach. There are also several stores and restaurants within walking distance, and it's just a short drive to the Delaware beaches, making it a great location for exploring the area. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly place to stay in Ocean City.

You basically have to find an illegal place to park for 30 minutes, head to the front desk (which is on the first floor above ground level), unload all of your luggage and beach gear, and then move your car to a legal parking spot. Some parking is under the main building, some is under the second building across the street, and there's plenty more in a nearby overflow lot. Good luck. The stress upon arrival already had me ready to deduct a star. Then, things improved a bit. We had an oceanfront room on a high floor, and it was beautiful. Having that balcony overlooking the ocean every morning, afternoon, and evening added an extra layer of joy to our week long stay. Breakfast here was delightful. Seating can be limited, but if you head down a little early, you'll have no problem. Every morning there was a nice assortment of hot and cold items: fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, a breakfast meat, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, toast, and either pancakes or French toast sticks, plus juice and coffee. Fill up here and you may only need a light lunch. If you do get hungry later, there are plenty of options nearby...including a good pizza place right next door. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and a nice size for our family, although it's probably due for a refresh. Housekeeping serviced the room every day, though the timing varied quite a bit. Sometimes they came in the morning, other days it wasn't until after 4 p.m. They're also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. However...the elevators. There are only two serving the main building, and there was often a long wait. Staff use them throughout the day, guests are constantly coming and going, and one of the two elevators went out of service at least three different times during our stay, leaving the entire building relying on a single elevator. Sheesh. The frustrating part is that I'd happily take the stairs. But the hallway leading to the stairwell has a sign that says, "Employees Only Beyond This Point." It certainly gives the impression that guests aren't supposed to use them. Meanwhile, employees seemed to be riding the elevator between nearby floors. I'd love to take the stairs, but the signs suggest otherwise. Despite the stressful arrival, frustrating parking situation, and those dreadful elevators, we still had a very enjoyable week. The oceanfront balcony, complimentary breakfast, and dog-friendly accommodations made for a memorable vacation. That said, I'm not sure I'd choose this hotel again. I prefer a property with a larger, more convenient parking lot where I don't feel discouraged from taking the car out, and a hotel with enough elevators to comfortably handle the number of guests. For a week-long beach vacation, those two things ended up mattering more than I expected.

So the good: This hotel is prime location over here in Ocean…read moreCity on the ocean front. The bed is VERY comfortable and the sectional in our room which as it turns out is a pullout bed and it is also VERY comfortable, which is a surprise because usually the pull out beds in hotels are really not very good quality. There is a fridge in the room as well as a small, single serve coffee maker and a decent TV mounted on wall. I booked the hotel so that I could bring my mother to the Thunderbirds airshow, which has been on her bucket list for sometime now. Knowing it was on the sand and she's elderly I wanted to keep it as easy and enjoyable for her as I could so that's how I came here through some research via AI generated response responses to multiple questions that I had about where to go in the best place from which state of the airshow. The Hyatt Place Ocean City oceanfront, was one of the few hotels that came up as being one of the prime spots and indeed it was. It was in fact at show center. So much so that we could we hear the announcer who was actually just a little off to our left, narration and music in this phenomenal airshow. On the balcony, we had two Adirondack chairs and a table that were quite comfortable. Also good is the beach accessibility right out front of the hotel so that made it very convenient as well although we could not take advantage of that during the airshow because it was blocked off for those who had purchased tickets,- but knowing that it's there for the future is good. The not so good: The breakfast was OK nothing spectacular. I've had better eggs at other hotels and although there was a sign that said you could get mimosas or bloody Mary's from 9 to 11 no bartender ever showed up to the bar. I asked the front desk when I went we left breakfast and was told that the bar in the lounge did not open until 3 PM and if you wanted to get a drink, you went out to the pool bar. I kind of think there should be a sign that says something about that. Also when we got in last night during the show, I wanted to go grab a couple of drinks and a couple of snacks but when I went down to the lounge again, there was no bartender and when I asked, even though the website said that the lounge was open from 730 until 11 PM, I was told that there was nobody in the lounge bar and that I needed to go out to the pool in order to get food and drinks. However, out at the bar at the pool, I was told that she could not serve the drinks that they had posted in the elevator because those could only be served inside. On that note, back into the good category is the bartender out at the pool. Colleen. She was phenomenal! The drinks that she made were really good and I tried to get down later to get some more but unfortunately, I think I missed her and I think the pool bar closes at 7 PM. Nothing regarding hours at the lounge bar or at the pool bar are posted anywhere either on the website or here in the hotel. I think they would probably do a lot more business if they posted stuff on the website or told you when you checked in advising you when the bar was open both inside and at the pool. If nothing else, I would at least let the pool bartender fix the drinks that they advertise in the elevators if they're not going to open the bar until a certain time. In the category of not so good is the elevator here as well. The elevator is so ridiculously slow. I can't tell you how many times I waited numerous times to go down when it just kept going up. There are only two elevators in the hotel and it would take quite some time to try to get outside to get stuff from the car. As for the ugly: The parking here is really quite chaotic. I only saw a couple of handicap spots and I was traveling with my disabled mother. Fortunately, we were able to snag a spot right in front of the door that you go in to take the elevator up to the lobby. But otherwise the spots underneath the main hotel are minimal. There's another building adjacent to the Hyatt place that has some spots so at least there's that. On the website for the hotel you'll see what looks like a beach shop, which I was kind of excited about however, that is apparently an old picture and instead of a beach novelty shop we were met with an unpleasant lady from Franco's Bar on top of which the hotel sits swatting us away. Apparently whatever is beneath us, which actually looks like a cute little café or bistro is not operational. I'm not sure what the story is down there, but apparently it is part of Franco's pizza bar, which for the moment I am boycotting until I get over the nasty manner in which she treated us. Oh and we had a roach in our room- that wasn't great. And the TV remote didn't work right. Conclude: I always measure food and entertainment and attractions on the basis of "would I do it again". Here yes I would book at the Hyatt Pl., Ocean City oceanfront Hotel again for its convenience and very small but cozy and comfortable accommodations.

I arrived early to the beaches and called to ask if I can park on their lot even though the room was not ready to check in until later that afternoon and the staff said it was fine. This is cool and from there on, things turned down south. I got to the lot and noticed that the parking space is tight and very limited. Apparently, they have another parking area off premises which is good but who really wants to walk. When I booked the place, I specifically request to be on the first floor. When I arrived, I noticed several people were checking out but the staff gave me a room not on the first floor nor second floor but third, which is their highest floor. I asked about my request and the staff said no one is checking out on the first floor and that I had was the only available room. The staff wasn't nasty but she wasn't kind either and really did not bother checking her computer system or at least try to look like she wanted to help. When I got in the room, everything was really outdated. I guess the tale tell sign was when I was given two keys, not key cards. Who still uses keys at a motel/hotel? I had no paper towel by the kitchenette sink. There was a sign that mentioned renter needs to clean their own dishes and stack them back as the cleaning staff doesn't clean dishes. Of course, there's no dishwasher. They left two fly swatters in the room...gees, so now I'm expected to use them. The bathroom towel are not so clean. My bedsheets were a bit damp so I had to call for a new one. The wifi is horrible and really it is a joke . Thank goodness my cell phone LTE works fine. I asked to check out a day earlier and wanted a refund. Another staff (not the same staff when I checked in) flatly said no refund. She would have to talk to the owner of a possible credit for future stay but can't guarantee that a credit is even given. Of course, she never bothered asking the owner or at least, never bothered getting back to me on the matter. They have nothing on their website on about changing the lodging stay. I'm reluctant to even give this place two stars but they did let me park there before check in and the location is not too far off the boardwalk so distance wise to the attractions are fine. However, with so many other places to stay, I will recommend to look into other places.

They also have some outdoor chairs where you can chill and watch the sunset, which I really liked. Perfect spot to relax after a day out. Parking is pretty tight, so be careful if you're driving a bigger car. The two beds were comfortable, and the AC worked great no complaints there. Now, the bathroom door was definitely one of the more unusual aspects...like a rolling gate that doesn't stay on its hinge. It offers zero privacy since you can hear everything, so it's better suited for couples than groups or families. The staff was very friendly and kind, which made the stay nicer. Breakfast was simple but decent with oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, apples, and juice served until 10 am. All in all, it's a solid choice if you want a clean, affordable place with a great location. Just be ready for the right parking.

The room was on the first floor and that was perfect for us as we both had an injury. The room had 2queens in it, tv, refrigerator, desk, full bathroom with dove soap and shampoo. The room was clean and comfortable and we were able to sit, sleep and eat comfortably. The room was clean, the indoor pool was a bit disgusting with no filter running and the water was warm and greenish-gray. That is the main reason I am not giving a 5 rating. We were interested in the indoor pool bc it was raining outside where the other pool was. We ended up NOT GETTING IN ANY POOL. We were not going to chance it in the pool bc of potential infections in the water and it wasn't clean. Overall it wasn't bad but the pool was a problem. I'm giving them 3/5 because of that pool and the breakfast available in self service and was extremely crowded and not enough seating. There was no fresh fruit, or anything that I could eat (I'm keto) so I did eat a little bit of chobani yogurt but it wasn't the Greek yogurt I eat. That was a disappointment to not have keto friendly food or vegan options. They need to catch up with the rest of the world and have options for both regular food, vegan and keto options. A few small changes to the food available would make this a much better place. I also noticed that they don't give you any water or anything when you check in. I have stayed in many hotels and every one always has a bottle of water for each person (free) and a snack (apple, orange, cookie etc) this location didn't. I'm also going to say that when we checked in the man & woman at the desk were rude, and the man acted like he didn't know what he was doing and he asked the woman who had an attitude towards us. So I have stayed there before with my family for soccer tournament and it was much better and people nice and friendly and helpful back then. It is not like that now!! Beware of the hotel prices as well. For a 1 night stay in a double queen room was $242/night. Definitely not worth that price. My friend booked it using her and her husband rewards program and when we arrived they said where's the primary person on the account. My friend said she booked it and used her credit card but because her husband name was on the rewards program they said they had to get him to ok it. They said they would have to call him. My friend explained that would be difficult since he passed away this year. They were quite confused about what to do and they had to call a manager for this despite my friend using her credit card and the same address as her husband obviously but they were trying to make it difficult for us. I'm not recommending this hotel for 3 reasons. 1. Filthy pool indoor 2. Rude staff and not properly trained 3. The free breakfast which we were looking forward to didn't have any vegan, keto or healthy options. It was cereal, pastries, pancakes, etc and self serve so I don't feel comfortable eating anything that dozens of people have breathed on, touched or who knows what. I'm going to give them 2/5 overall for the reasons stated above.
