Don't recommend staying here. Very disrespectful to the homeless community. The lady at the desk told him he stunk and they didn't want him. That man didnt stink he was bathed with new clothes on. The community pulled together and got this elderly man funds to stay out of the cold and snow. An this is how they treat him. Not ok at all. my sister in law booked online and paid up front. when she arrived after dark there was no toilet paper or. towels. when she went to the office to request these basic items the person behind the desk basically told her if she didn't like it she could go elsewhere. she returned to her room and shortly after saw flashlights under her door. when she opened the door there were two cops who told her she was trespassing and needed to leave. every time she tried to say anything they told her to shut up or they would take her to jail. she left and they followed her for miles. anyone surprised that her last name is Hispanic ? this is our country now. gave it one star because it won't post without it. read more

This is among the more difficult reviews to write. I travel extensively for business on behalf of my employer (read, 32 airline trips last year), and I try to spend the company's money as I would my own, which is to say, I stay in places that are clean, quiet, safe, and reasonably priced. This usually means mid-range hotels. I don't usually stay in Motel 6 or similar budget hotel properties. I understand and respect that they serve a certain segment of the traveling population, but as a professional and business traveler, I generally find other properties more suited to my needs. On this business trip, however, I found myself forced into a stay at this property due to a last minute booking, peak vacation travel season, and consequent unavailability of hotels I would usually stay at, or ridiculously expensive rates for remaining rooms at those properties. And at the $120/night average rate that I paid here, it also places this property pretty squarely into the price range of hotels that I typically book. The difficulty in this review is trying to stay objective, given what this hotel and service segment typically is, versus the properties I typically book. WTF am I talking about, you say? Ok, this. I walk into my room on the 3rd floor of the hotel, and the first thing I do is turn on the air conditioner and open the drapes. Looking down into the parking lot in back of the hotel, my view affords me a peek into the front windshield of a big, black, Chevy Suburban, where a guy is divvying up drugs for sale into little foil packets on the console armrest of his truck. Ok. My picture of the universe at least remains complete. Not something I've ever witnessed before in my travels, and at other hotels. But back to the hotel and accommodations. Pretty basic, as the pictures I posted illustrate. Faux-wood laminate floors in the rooms, with commerial-grade carpet tiles in the hallways. The walls in my room were either white, or eye-scortching orange, and if the color itself is not enough, it's high-gloss paint. If you've ever wondered why wall paint is usually flat and not high gloss, a night in this hotel is enlightening and a prudent investment. Everything in the room is bolted into place. Enough said. As far as amenities: Coffee maker: No. Little bottles of shampoo and conditioner: No. Blow dryer: No. Iron and ironing board: No. Free breakfast: No. Again, trying to be both informative and objective - This is a budget hotel - beds, a bathroom, cheap towels, a place on the wall to hang your clothes and a rack to place your underwear and socks, and a bolted down table with 1950's wood and metal schoolroom chairs. Passable WiFi. Cable TV. A small fridge and microwave oven. On the upside, I have to admit that the room was spotlessly clean. The bed and bedding were surprisingly comfortable. The hotel is also well located and close to lots of stores and places to eat, even within easy walking distance. On the downside - there is no elevator, so if you're a small person with big luggage or lots of it, get ready for a workout if you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The hallways of the hotel are not air-conditioned, unless you consider open windows to be air-conditioning, so it's basically outside air conditions until you get to your room and can turn on the air conditioner. It's also a smoking hotel on some floors. Ok, so did it meet the criteria of clean, quiet, and safe? I have to admit it did. Was it a good value? I have to admit that given the season, it was, though for the life of me, I don't see what justifies a Motel 6 in a strip mall hell like Salisbury, MD, charging $120 per night for a room that's probably worth more like $60-$70, except maybe that they're within 40 minutes of Ocean City, and serving people who can't afford the double-plus rates of hotels along the ocean. Did I enjoy my stay? Not really. Would I stay here again if I had to? Absolutely. read more

This is a Motel 6, and a such, I kept my expectations low. I only needed a room for a stopover night on my way to the OBX. Checking in and out was easy and quick. The room I was in was perfect for my needs. It was clean, and had been refurbished within the last few years, I'd say. Other than two bars of soap, there were no amenities. But that's how Motel 6 rolls. That's why you get such a low rate, most times. I would definitely stay here again when in the area, if the price was right. read more

This was my first experience staying at a Motel 6, and I must say it was really good! The rooms had been remodeled and it reminded my girlfriend and I of IKEA. There were yellow and orange pastel colours on the walls, sheets, etc. It made the room feel warm and cosy. The bed was comfy and located right next to the heater/air-conditioner and the window. A (faux?) leather booth-style corner seat with a table and separate chair was a nice touch. It was comfortable enough for two people to eat a meal. There was a fairly large flat panel TV on the wall. Below it there were RCA plugs for composite video/audio (I.e., yellow, red, white), VGA, and HDMI. Thus, you have the option of plugging in your own device to the television. Very awesome! A clean safe feeling Motel 6 in Strip Mall Land on busy US highway 13 a short drive north of downtown Salisbury .. The room had a fridge, microwave, and extensive TV channel selection. Some generic chain restaurants nearby including adjacent DQ and Bob Evans, much more interesting offerings in downtown Salisbury. Some other motels in the same area not sure how they compare on price. Room doors open to an interior hallway and the area feels safe. read more

I'll give them plus's for cleanliness. But for seventy bucks I expect a tiny bottle of shampoo. When I asked for a tiny bottle of shampoo I was directed to a vending machine, Weirdness right there. When I informed them there was no shampoo in the vending machine with the Famous Amos and Oreo cookies I was handed a tiny bottle of shampoo and told it was a courtesy. I have started staying at Motel 6 a lot because I travel a lot for work and I like bringing my dog. This is a pretty nice location. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and the room we had was spacious. Parking is a little tight here, but wasn't a problem on the trip because the hotel was not heavily occupied but if you have big work trucks keep that in mind. Definitely a quality place to stay that is safe, clean, and cheap. read more

Check in was fine this was my first time ever stay at a motel 6 I typically stay in other hotels while traveling and unfortunately this will be my last time ever staying at one I was pretty much harassed by the hous keep I had oral airy before checking in and was in town for a few funerals so I tried to sleep in due to the meds I was on however the house keeper banged on the door like the police and woke me after saying I was sleep even though the door was locked and the chain as well he banged again and again extremely loud and kept doing so he finally stopped but then turned around and called my room mind you if the door is locked and I also was waken and said I was sleep why call well he called to argue that he had to clean my room regardless and kept ignoring my saying I was trying to sleep I had the room for three night this was the very first day after the first night then a lady was put on the phone with an accent and again she wanted to fuss at the same time my mouth is in pain so I just got up tried calling the main customer service but kept getting a message saying no one was available to help o asked for the manager over and over the lady kept say well I'm here now and refused to get the manager I got up showered dressed and went to the desk same lady says the manager is not here now and again continues to basically tell me they were coming in whether I'm sleep or not and if I feel well or not it was a horrible experience and I will never I mean never stay here again this was the Salisbury md location horible read more

It's a Motel 6 -- you get what you pay for (almost -- this was a bit pricey, actually). It provided a safe place to sleep on our way from NJ to the Outer Banks. The rooms were reasonably clean and well-maintained. They stuck us in a smoking room, and boy did it smell like it! The smell got better when we opened a window. There was a dead seagull on the first level roof when we arrived and it was still there the next day, adding to an already creepy vibe. I thought the beds were fine, but my husband felt they were much too hard. A bit of a drive to Ocean City, but that's why we were able to get a room on a weekend night in July with just a couple weeks' notice. There's a Dairy Queen next door and a Bob Evans right next to that. In short: You can live with it for a night on your way somewhere else. read more
