    Close to lots of restaurants!

Very clean and very comfortable! The entire space around the hotel is well kept, you can tell the owners take pride in their hotel. The bed made for a quality night sleep and the bathroom is simple and very clean. Easy access to everything in Salisbury and only a 25 minute easy drive to Ocean City! If you just need a place to sleep ... this is the perfect choice!

Love the bright white and orange colors, and in high-gloss paint. Reminded me of a Tastee-Feeze or A&W Rootbeer restaurant

This is among the more difficult reviews to write. I travel extensively for business on behalf of my employer (read, 32 airline trips last year), and I try to spend the company's money as I would my own, which is to say, I stay in places that are clean, quiet, safe, and reasonably priced. This usually means mid-range hotels. I don't usually stay in Motel 6 or similar budget hotel properties. I understand and respect that they serve a certain segment of the traveling population, but as a professional and business traveler, I generally find other properties more suited to my needs. On this business trip, however, I found myself forced into a stay at this property due to a last minute booking, peak vacation travel season, and consequent unavailability of hotels I would usually stay at, or ridiculously expensive rates for remaining rooms at those properties. And at the $120/night average rate that I paid here, it also places this property pretty squarely into the price range of hotels that I typically book. The difficulty in this review is trying to stay objective, given what this hotel and service segment typically is, versus the properties I typically book. WTF am I talking about, you say? Ok, this. I walk into my room on the 3rd floor of the hotel, and the first thing I do is turn on the air conditioner and open the drapes. Looking down into the parking lot in back of the hotel, my view affords me a peek into the front windshield of a big, black, Chevy Suburban, where a guy is divvying up drugs for sale into little foil packets on the console armrest of his truck. Ok. My picture of the universe at least remains complete. Not something I've ever witnessed before in my travels, and at other hotels. But back to the hotel and accommodations. Pretty basic, as the pictures I posted illustrate. Faux-wood laminate floors in the rooms, with commerial-grade carpet tiles in the hallways. The walls in my room were either white, or eye-scortching orange, and if the color itself is not enough, it's high-gloss paint. If you've ever wondered why wall paint is usually flat and not high gloss, a night in this hotel is enlightening and a prudent investment. Everything in the room is bolted into place. Enough said. As far as amenities: Coffee maker: No. Little bottles of shampoo and conditioner: No. Blow dryer: No. Iron and ironing board: No. Free breakfast: No. Again, trying to be both informative and objective - This is a budget hotel - beds, a bathroom, cheap towels, a place on the wall to hang your clothes and a rack to place your underwear and socks, and a bolted down table with 1950's wood and metal schoolroom chairs. Passable WiFi. Cable TV. A small fridge and microwave oven. On the upside, I have to admit that the room was spotlessly clean. The bed and bedding were surprisingly comfortable. The hotel is also well located and close to lots of stores and places to eat, even within easy walking distance. On the downside - there is no elevator, so if you're a small person with big luggage or lots of it, get ready for a workout if you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The hallways of the hotel are not air-conditioned, unless you consider open windows to be air-conditioning, so it's basically outside air conditions until you get to your room and can turn on the air conditioner. It's also a smoking hotel on some floors. Ok, so did it meet the criteria of clean, quiet, and safe? I have to admit it did. Was it a good value? I have to admit that given the season, it was, though for the life of me, I don't see what justifies a Motel 6 in a strip mall hell like Salisbury, MD, charging $120 per night for a room that's probably worth more like $60-$70, except maybe that they're within 40 minutes of Ocean City, and serving people who can't afford the double-plus rates of hotels along the ocean. Did I enjoy my stay? Not really. Would I stay here again if I had to? Absolutely.

This was my first experience staying at a Motel 6, and I must say it was really good! The rooms had been remodeled and it reminded my girlfriend and I of IKEA. There were yellow and orange pastel colours on the walls, sheets, etc. It made the room feel warm and cosy. The bed was comfy and located right next to the heater/air-conditioner and the window. A (faux?) leather booth-style corner seat with a table and separate chair was a nice touch. It was comfortable enough for two people to eat a meal. There was a fairly large flat panel TV on the wall. Below it there were RCA plugs for composite video/audio (I.e., yellow, red, white), VGA, and HDMI. Thus, you have the option of plugging in your own device to the television. Very awesome! The sink and large mirror were basically part of the room and the toilet and shower were separated by a door. The toilet is crammed right up against the shower/tub; a quite confined space

The room itself was bright with Orange and tan accents. The bed, King size was very comfortable. It had a small microwave, fridge and the usual Iron/ironing board, safe. The Holiday Inn manager, Ann refused to apologize and falsely accused me and my family member for the disgusting state of the hotel room due to her poor managment, quality control and housekeeping. Laurie and the breakfast attendant were wonderful! They get a 5/5. Ann would get zero based on her nasty attitude and poor customer service. She knows that none of that furinture had been cleaned for months. March 3rd my elderly, disabled relative who was wearing a mobility boot and I checked out of our room early because a large bug was on my bed and the overall lack of cleanliness we discovered in the full sunlight. I called the front desk several times from my cell phone (because the room phone was broken) and finally spoke to Silas around 8 am and asked him to come inspect the room. He said he couldn't and would have to wait until the manager arrived around 9-9:30. We checked out and I called around 12 when I didn't hear anyone. Around 2 pm, the manager Ann W called and said she inspected the room with a 3rd party and they confirmed that it was a ladybug, "the room was utilized" and she found nothing wrong with the room. I asked her again, did she personally inspected the room and found it to be clean. She said yes - she couldn't tell what we did to the room versus the state of the room before we came. I told her that was insulting. She didn't apologize. I asked how could we leave the following stains on the furniture between 8pm and 8am the following day: - old, crusty white stains and dried spills on the desk chair, the sofa - dried red/black stains behind the toilet and in the refrigerator -hair in the shower that doesn't match our color, length or texture? I told her we had pictures and she said she did too and repeated that the room was fine and added had there been a problem we could have been moved. Laurie can confirm that she showed me another room when I checked in and I requested that room to be cleaned before she realized I had a reservation for another room. Laurie was wonderful she tried to help us with the thermostat and the phone which were both broken. Ann W. was smug, dismissive, and disrespectful for implying that we could be responsible for old stains from previous guests and poor housekeeping. We drove over 3 hours and I was sick and needed the handicap-accessible room. We ate in the lounge and only had enough time to sleep and left early. Our trip was cut short because of the bad experience.

Upon arrival, a warm and friendly attendant swiftly checked us in, offering cold water and ice cream (there is a deep freezer in the lobby w all kinds of complimentary frozen treats!) and a mini fridge chock full of bottled water and beverages. First- from front desk to breakfast hostess ( Edith) the staff were very good: friendly, professional, effective. Despite working on a national holiday- they always put customers first. Thanks! Our room 215, was ok but we were disappointed by the following: Loose floor tiles in bath area Very slow tub drain Overhead bathroom light very dim- unsafe. King mattress too jiggly for two. Bright Street/parking lights seep through curtains at night. Sounds from neighbors and overhead very noticeable. Washcloths so thin, they could have been disposable. Evidence of previous guests remaining in our room- ie: a butterfly hairpin on carpet. Breakfast offered sufficient variety and quantity. Dining area was clean and comfortable. Not critical, yet disappointed the guest snack area freezer was empty. No ice cream! Many, might not notice or even care about details listed above, yet for those who might, including hotel owners, I hope my notes are useful. Overall, not bad, but the experience could be better.
