I'm not saying the place was awesome, but given what I paid to sleep there, I think they did a pretty solid job of things. The city is not an inexpensive place, and I was a bit surprised to find anywhere for the price they offer. That it isn't smack on top of the public trans is a pest, perhaps, but it's a short cab ride to drop your luggage if you don't feel like going the two block walk from the nearest bus stop, and the place is usually quiet, which I found frankly refreshing. The cost includes linen, if not a towel, a key card that grants access to your room and your personal locker which obviates the need of bringing a lock, and there's an add-on option for a cheap all-you-can-eat breakfast [I had a lot of muesli and hot tea]. The rooms and bathrooms both were spotless when I stayed, and the hot water was plentiful. They did -not- have a kitchen which troubled me a bit, but they'll allow you to bring food from outside, just not alcohol. read more

This is one of the worst hostels I've stayed in. I thoroughly hated my whole experience here. It's NOT close to the Central train station. If carrying or wearing luggage, it's far too long a walk, I would suggest a bus. Once you've lightened your load it's possible to walk the city, but I'd still want to get back to the area before dark. The route to the hostel is through quiet side streets in a not-so-great area of town. Once you find the place, check in takes forever. When you get to your room, you're affronted with 3 bunk high beds and lockers that are noisy and faulty. I was unlucky enough to get a bed on the top, which was incredibly hard for me to get to because I'm not exactly tall. I was afraid to take cold medication because there was no guard rail of any kind, nor was getting down any easier than getting up. The bed felt rickety, the mattress was uncomfortable and the room was loud. The internet didn't work at all in the room. For that matter it didn't really work anywhere else very well either. And then there's the bathroom. It always stank, the floor was always covered in water. The showers had nowhere to put/hang your clothes or towel. The doors were always open, both the one leading into the hostel and the one leading outside, so there were often bugs. The toilets often didn't even work. Traveling expensive countries is nothing new to me. The price of this hostel was faaaaar too high for it's quality, regardless if it's Denmark. read more

As said previously in tips: Check out the posting on the wall just past the front desk. Super helpful list of places in walking distance and things to do/see in the city. (They were offering free yoga and meditations while I was there! Also has info about free museum days.) No outside alcohol. No curfew. Quiet hours of common area 0200-0700. Other things: Free (good) wifi. Tons of outlets to charge in common area. No kitchen (but they offer a cheap breakfast). Linens included in price. Price very reasonable for area. You will pay a small deposit at check in for a keycard to access the room and locker. Return the key and you'll get it back. First triple bunk I've stayed in! No serious complaints. The room setup was a tad cramped when trying to dig in the lockers, but was livable. Facilities, rooms, and common areas were clean during my entire stay. Overall the same or better quality than some other hostels I've stayed at in this price range. Although it wasn't super close to Copenhagen City Center, it was still conveniently located a few blocks from the metro. I personally liked the area we were in. This is the prettiest hostel I've ever been to. It is really close to the center of the city and every worker is super nice. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and nice, the showers are really big, and we had not even one problem during our time there. If you ever go to Copenhaguen this is the place to stay. read more

This hostel has lots of beds! My favorite thing about this hostel is that it has it's own bar that's open until 1 or 2 in the morning, and the counter/bar is always staffed day and night with a nice person to help you out. The bar was a great way to hang out with other guests in the hostel. You can purchase seasonal local draft beers, liquor, coffee, tea, and snacks at the bar. Best of all, they have an awesome happy hour everyday from 7-8 pm when all beers are 2 for 1! In the morning the bar and it's long tables become the setting for an all you can eat breakfast (not included in the price of a bed, but it's a nice selection of food and drink and costs 50 DKK if you order it before 6pm the day before and 58 DKK on the morning of). Downstairs from the bar is a large cozy common area with lots of couches and cute seating areas and a pool table. There are 2 iMac computers open for guests to use and you can print from them for 2 DKK per page. Free wifi all around. I had a private room for two people. It was very simple - just a bed, 2 night stands, and a little window bench (no closet). There was a mirror on the back of the door (not full-length). The private room was in it's own hallway with one other private room and a toilet shared between the two private rooms. To shower guests of the private rooms use the same large shower room as the rest of the guests in the dorms. It is the largest hostel shower room I've ever been in, but was super clean. You can buy a towel at the front desk (non-refundable). There is a wonderful free walking tour that leaves directly from the hostel at 10AM each morning. There are lots of suggestions on the walls of things to do around Copenhagen. You can also rent a bike directly from the hostel. The private room was more expensive than other private rooms I stayed in around Europe, but I really liked the hostel so it was worth it. read more

Lovely hostel with a good location, unfortunately they struggle with bedbugs and now I have brought them home. I have red marks, a horrible itch, no bed to sleep in and doing the laundry 24/7 because they spread through clothes and bedsheets, and above all, I have to pay at least 150 euros to make sure these vicious creatures are gone. read more

This is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at. The Internet is pretty fast, and the rooms are pretty clean. This is the first place I've seen triple bunks though; that was interesting. The beds aren't the most comfortable, but they'll do. The covers and pillows weren't too bad though. Also there aren't really any lights in the room, but there are power outlets! The showers are nice too: there's enough water pressure, and there's a bench and hooks to put your clothes and such, away from the water, plenty of space per shower room. The toilets are individually roomed as well, which is nice. The common area though...wow! There's this stage with bean bags and pillows, another area with couches, a space with high tables, and a space with normal tables, all wooden. Very chill, very nice place to hang out, and there were power outlets everywhere. Plus, Internet in rooms was good, although it was sort of spotty in the common area. I would definitely recommend this hostel! Pretty conveniently located too, although not directly in the city center. read more

This place was great. But we got some bed bugs from there. And I do not appreciate that Hostel's stuff did know they have bed bugs (read some reviews below), and they did not tell about that. Otherwise the place was great: stuff was nice, breakfast was good, and beer was cheep and the location was great. But BED BUGS SUCKS! read more

Great experience. I stayed in the all female room down the way a bit away from the main entrance. Didn't mind the short walk or separation. Julie was fantastic. Such a lovely person with great customer service. This isn't what I pictured when I thought hostel but it's also my first and only hostel. I honestly expected a bit dirtier and rowdier read more

There is no reason why the music can't be turned down till 2 am especially for someone staying in the J room. The staff is nice but in definitely wouldn't stay there again since I couldn't get a good night sleep.... read more

Bit of a walk from the main attractions and city square so not an ideal location. Also when I was there, it was very quiet so little hostel atmosphere, no kitchen and there was a terrible smell in the toilets. The rooms were clean and comfortable but for the money, I'd stay closer to the city next time. read more

We stayed for 5 nights at Sleep in Heaven during 3 weeks of travelling and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Pros - Clean & comfortable beds/linens - Spacious and clean bathrooms/showers - Automated room/locker entry with a keycard - AWESOME happy hour from 7 - 8 PM each night (half off all drinks) - Friendly and helpful staff - Cheap bike rental ($13/day), which is the BEST way to see the city - Forum metro station is only a 10 minute walk away - Reasonably priced by Scandinavian standards - Breakfast is offered each morning for a reasonable price Cons - No laundry on site (go to Laundromat Cafe nearby -- unique and reasonably priced) - No kitchen facilities or fridge - On-site computers aren't great, but Wifi is good We found Copenhagen to be a biker's and foodie's paradise. This hostel is within biking distance of both the city center and the innumerable great restaurants in Norrebro, so it's a great base from which to explore. Highly recommend! read more
