As a first time parent, Rebecca provided the support that I needed. My wife was having back pains from her current sleep process and I wasn't totally confident in the direction to sleep train our child - Rebecca gave me that needed confidence. I could end my review here as confidence is one of the most important items most parents need but I'll go on a bit for those interested. Process The first step was a brief phone call, followed by an interview to gather important information. After that, we were provided short materials to review and a plan (more below). Then begins the action on your side and the regular communication. Regarding the communication, Rebecca was very flexible and available for us. My schedule was hectic and she made phone calls and communication work without an issue. She was in constant contact with us and was available to my wife to answer any and every question and concern she had. The Plan Rebecca gives you a "plan" or schedule as a guide. I put plan in quotes because it's really goals to aim for based on where you are at. She works with you to adjust your goals as needed so it's not something rigid but flexes as needed. My wife was nervous about being on a schedule or routine and this ended up working out fabulously for us. Results We wanted a healthy routine, to save momma's back from all the rocking and with a baby that slept through the night. We achieved this. Personality Regarding personality, I found Rebecca to be very pleasant, upbeat, thoughtful, analytical and considerate. She's the type of person who says just enough to get the point across and in a caring manor. She's really a joy to talk to. I must say that Rebecca was exactly the individual that was needed to assist my husband and I in helping our daughter get to sleep on her own. I was nursing my daughter to sleep, which was incredible but towards the end, became torturous. Torturous in the sense that she not only wanted to be nursed, she then had to be rocked to sleep. What should have been an hour tops for a bedtime routine, was becoming more like 3 sometimes 4 hours! Step in Rebecca. She was referred to us by my sister-in-law and so we heard nothing but great things. Rebecca is professional, yet approachable. She gets you and understands you. She understood that it was solely me putting our daughter to sleep from the beginning and she gave me the courage to trust that my husband can do it as well. I can't speak highly enough of Rebecca and her work. Her method worked wonders with our 16 months old son who co slept and nursed to sleep for both naps and night time. The first time we tried sleep coaching ,my son was 6 months old, we worked with a different sleep coach then. We soon discovered that "the cry it out method " did not work for our family. My son struggled ,got clingier and would hysterically cry himself to sleep. We kept being assured that if we stayed consistent ,we would see changes. by the 6th night, however, we decided to stop coaching as we did not see any improvements and the crying part was heart breaking and intolerable at that point. When my son turned 14 months, however, I was depleted . I could no longer keep up with his night wakings. He woke up so many times to nurse that I considered a 3 wakings per night to be a good night. I needed a solution and I am so glad I found Sleep cadets. Our experience with Rebecca was different from the start. Rebecca took her time to listen to my goals and concerns and tailored her approach to suit our needs and life style while also taking my son's temperament and his attachment with us into account. Before starting sleep coaching, she made sure he was on a good and solid sleep schedule for his needs and age. She gave us a great bedtime routine to follow during that time too. we had about two weeks of simply following the schedule and the routine without any sleep coaching. When we started the sleep coaching , the plan was gentle and gradual which made the separation much easier on my son. Eventually my son went from nursing and co sleeping all night long , to sleeping independently in his own crib and in his own room, something I thought would never happen . Rebecca was always available to answer any questions, to give us guidance along the way and to troubleshoot and change things to better suit our son. A major difference from the previous coach. Where do I start? Rebecca changed our lives - We had a 15 month old that was still getting rocked to sleep & couldn't self settle. It could take us 2 hours to put him down & he might wake up again 90 mins later. There were a lot of nights where one of us would just go to bed with him in our bed at 8.30-9pm as we felt it was easier. We were nervous to start sleep coaching/training as we had a pretty good baby (except for the sleep) & didn't want him getting upset. After 2-3 nights he was sleeping through the night. He just turned 17 months & happily goes to bed after our little routine & sleeps through the night at least 11 hours. Our only regret is not starting with Rebecca sooner! read more

Yes, we absolutely recommend Sleep Cadets, Inc. We were lost. Our 15 month old son had no normal bedtime, he never went to sleep without being held, walked or rocked, and most nights he ended up in our bed by the middle of the night. We were pretty scared to try to instill a new, foreign routine to him as we were sure he would resist. We followed Rebecca's plan and stuck with it and really by the 3rd or 4th night we were able to see it working and now 3 weeks later it really has worked. Our now 16 month old is sleeping from 9pm through the whole night in his own crib and is able to self soothe and put himself back to bed when he wakes in the middle of the night. We both work full time so we really had no nighttime routine. Our 15 month old son was eating dinner with us at 8pm and we were lost as to how to get him to sleep at a proper and reasonable time for a baby his age. We cannot thank Rebecca enough for helping us sleep train our toddler!  We tried a variety of methods including cry it out and modified cry it out, but it never stuck.  That was, in part, b/c of a disconnect between us parents.  Rebecca was patient and gentle with us both and found a bridge to a sleep plan that worked for both of us & our son and achieved our goals.  We were also managing this training alongside a second (twin) pregnancy -- Rebecca was accommodating which was very important - and wove in her own experiences as a twin mother.  Sleep Cadets is a thorough program and Rebecca works to meet the specific needs of the situation.  She does not take a cookie cutter approach -- many other sleep trainers do --  and that is further evident in the care and responsiveness she delivers.  Throughout the process, we also were able to connect with Rebecca on each of our past experiences and how that affected our parenting style and beliefs (at times fairly heavy).  While she will say she's not a therapist, we found many of our sessions therapeutic and her willingness to be open is a key strength.  For anyone needing sleep training  -- from the outset or later in your kids life -- Rebecca works wonders and will create healthy sleep habits and a peaceful home.  She's a pleasure to work with and we're looking forward to our next round for the twins! read more

Once again, Rebecca truly was our savior. Last summer, she helped us with our two year old who suddenly went from sleeping perfectly to becoming hysterical the second we placed her in the crib. Having had such a positive experience with Rebecca, we immediately turned to her again when it was time to transition our daughter to a bed. In just two weeks, we went from needing to lie in bed with her until she fell asleep, and her waking up crying 4-5 times a night, to being able to leave the room and be available only by monitor, and her sleeping through the night. Rebecca's guidance to have us calmly pick our daughter up and place her back in bed every time she got out of it -- which happened dozens of times over the two weeks -- worked perfectly; it felt so nice to do that in a way that was firm but expressed no frustration or disappointment towards our daughter. So, without our ever having to show any negative emotion towards our daughter, she learned that getting out of bed was futile, and she stopped. Rebecca was a true professional from the moment I spoke to her. I knew immediately that she was a great fit to help my son and I through our sleep issues. By altering his schedule and using the sleep shuffle method those sleep issues were resolved. My 21 month old son went from waking up halfway through the night and being up for 3-4 hours to going through the entire night not calling for me once. Rebecca always responded back to any questions quickly and truly cared about both my son and I throughout the entire process. Our family journey began with Rebecca a little over a month ago when I reached out in hopes of helping my 3yr old daughter get back on track with her sleep. I honestly didn't think anything was possible and we were a lost cause. Our daughter had a scare and refused to sleep in her room let alone sleep at all! Rebecca is amazing resource, and we can't thank her enough for her expertise. Although we were not able to complete the sleep coaching at this time due to our daughter's reflux, we received a wealth of knowledge about reflux and sleep. We called Rebecca exhausted and feeling like we were doing everything wrong. We couldn't get our little one on any kind of schedule and getting her to sleep was one of the toughest parts of our day. No matter what we tried, we couldn't get her on any type of routine. Rebecca analyzed our situation and worked really closely with us. She made us realize that our daughter's reflux issues were preventing this. It helped us know that we weren't doing everything wrong, and that we need to figure out how to get our little one feeling better. She gave us tips to help us ease her reflux at night to help her fall asleep and stay asleep. These tools were so helpful for us. When we started working with Rebecca, our daughter was nearly 10 months old.  Her sleep deteriorated after she turned 4 months old and had gotten to the point where I was staying up and holding her from 8pm to 12am, my husband did the same from 12am to 4am, and then from 4am to 7am she slept in our bed (we did not have a problem with the last part, but did not want to bedshare for the whole night).  We were both exhausted but I was very hesitant to sleep train because all our friends who had done it (and many who had used sleep coaches) did so by leaving their babies alone in their rooms to cry and I was not comfortable with that.  I found Rebecca through sheer luck of a google search looking for gentle sleep trainers.  Rebecca was exactly the kind of sleep coach that I was looking for.  I knew she was a great fit when we had our first call and she said that we could even still bring our daughter into our bed in the early mornings if we still wanted to.  She had us start with her camping out method where my husband (because I had been nursing her to sleep) stayed in her room and was able to comfort her while she put herself to sleep.  For any wake ups before a certain time, he went back in the room and then after a certain time, I would feed her and then he would go in.  Then anytime after 4:30am, we would bring her to our room.  Never once with her method did I feel like we had abandoned her and left her to cry (which was my biggest fear with sleep coaching).  We saw pretty much instant results.  We communicated with Rebecca every day over the course of a month - she was very responsive, encouraging, and offered small tweaks that made a huge difference.  Now a few weeks after we started, my daughter either sleeps through the night (or if she wakes up, soothes herself back to sleep before we can even get to her) or wakes up once for a feed and then goes back to sleep in her crib.  My husband and I can function again but I still feel like I am attending to my daughter's needs.  I could not recommend Rebecca enough - especially for parents like me who were still nursing to sleep/co-sleeping/bedsharing with their almost toddler. read more
