After the 3rd session the difference in my back was very noticeable, and I realized that with a good chiropractor, one can greatly reduce the pain/discomfort most of us accept and manage every day. After a few more sessions I was able to reduce the frequency of visits, and started seeing the acupuncturist there. The acupuncturist has also made a difference in reducing the general discomforts I had until now simply accepted.

Dr. Joe Janek at Downtown Chiropractic is my "Neck Hero". My neck went into a bad cycle of just…read moregetting worse and worse as has happened before. My GP put me on prednisone that ruins bones, pain killers that incapacitate me, and side effect causing muscle relaxants. But it was still bad and did not fix up like last time in a few days. I woke up one day with more pain than usual resulting in that I could not go to work or drive because I could not turn my head enough to check blind spots. After just 3 visits in a week, I was able to go back to work and drive again. He recommended therapeutic massage, devices and exercises as well. The pain and muscle tension became very much reduced over a number of weeks to the point that I can go weeks to months without any treatment or symptoms. I go in now before the symptoms become severe and I don't have to take any of the GP's drugs or get hit with their many side effects. Dr. Joe Janek has a good friendly manner, answers questions and because he asked for an x-ray, he helped discover that I had osteoporosis. Chrystal at the front desk saves me from my scheduling issues, even the ones I cause, always with a smile. Downtown Chiropractic is conveniently located downtown at Granville and Georgia which makes it easy to get to if one is on the bus or Skytrain. By car, I've found street parking nearby on Seymour and there are several parking lots there too. With Dr. Joe Janek you are in good hands and I recommend him to my friends and family as well.

At one point, one of our kids (less than a year old) had digestive problems and Dr. Bob made some gentle adjustments which greatly helped out. Highly recommended.

I've been everywhere, tried everything. Chiro, physio, acupuncture, IMS, acupressure, cupping, deep tissue. The latter two and chiro always help short-term. I made an emergency appointment via email with Farah who responded quicker than I expected AND she accomodated me on the day and time I needed. She emailed the initiation forms to me to fill out in advance to help save time. The day of the appointment, Farah was beyond thorough and incredibly knowledgeable and also took lots of time to explain what was happening to me and why. She also made sure to answer all of my questions. She was really competent and addressed my muscle problems and worked on them with a ton of strength. Already booked in next week. She is definitely the best I've experienced in the lower mainland and worth a visit. Keep her busy, but not too busy for me ;)

After reconstructive shoulder surgery, I went to physio at UBC Sports Medicine. My doctor told me…read morenot to do any type of sports or physical training other than what he recommended, and that it would take a year before I could do anything strenuous or risky, like snowboarding. Against my doctor's recommendation I went for an initial consult at Crossfit Vancouver, where I wanted to start training. My coach there told me to go see Dr. Cleland and combine that with a tailored Crossfit training program. Dr. Cleland was great - very personable and understanding of my surgery and fitness goals. He explained everything he was doing to me so that I could understand, instead of in gobbledeegook doctorspeak. While the procedures were extremely painful (he was working on my fascial tissue and deep muscle scars) they worked. I was able to excel at my fitness training almost immediately, and my range of motion was improved significantly. When I returned to Boston for the one year follow-up with my surgeon, I was told that I had recovered in record time and achieved a range of motion not usually possible after a surgery like mine. Thanks Cleland!

Although x-rays and ultrasound showed I had no injury, or impingement, my arm was almost dead. They told me it was adhesive capsulitis, or "Frozen Shoulder." I had shooting pain in my shoulder, and the slightest jarring would send me through the roof. I was in extreme pain and nothing seemed to help. I tried acupuncture, massage, cortisone shots, drugs and although each offered a little relief, nothing helped for long. Then a friend told me about Trigenics and Dr. Richard Cleland. I started going to the clinic in late November 2011 and on my first visit I was able to lift my arm over my head. Something I hadn't done in months. Although the treatment is painful, the results can't be argued with. I've been been in treatment for 5 months and I've regained 95% of my strength and mobility. If you've been told you have a frozen shoulder, I highly recommend you call Synergy Chiropractic. Don't wait two years, or longer for your frozen shoulder to go away. See Dr. Cleland, and start getting well today.

I had a tough injury to deal with and through ART sessions with him I'm actually seeing improvement which is amazing to me because I didn't think I could get better without drastic surgeries. I am very happy to see the improvements I have thus far. I've still got a long road ahead of me, but I'm so happy to be having treatments that actually work! Dr. Nielsen is very kind and a pleasure to work with. I'm always cautious of people working on me with a condition so complex, but he knew just what to do and how to handle my injured areas. He's very knowledgeable and very personable to boot. I feel like I'm in very good hands with him. Though you always wish you met good people under better circumstances, I look forward to future treatments here!

She was very professional, and not chatty during the massage (which I like). Aromatherapy was great and the pressure was deep enough for me. Also appreciate the little things, like she sets up a towel/bathmat for when you get off the bed - I usually hate having to step on cold & dirty floor after - so that was very considerate. This time she gave me a handmade soap (made by her) for the holidays (and it smells so good)! Can't wait for my next appointment.

I went in with a kink in my neck and could barely look to the left without severe pain - boom he did a quick adjustment and I had full range of motion and it didn't hurt anymore. I've also done some physical therapy and rehabilitation with him. He was very knowledgeable with giving me exercises and stretches I should do. I was very pleased how much that helped me strengthen and protect my previous injury I also appreciate that he's a hockey player (like me) and he keeps me moving the way I need to be at to play at my optimal level.
