    Meads on offer

Never tried a mead I liked before popping in here for a tasting. Erik, the owner was so knowledgeable and friendly- we chatted with him for over an hour and learned so much! The space is really open, beautiful - an industrial look, but warm cozy and inviting. They have about 12 meads to try - we ended up doing a flight which was 4 meads for $10 - generous pours extremely reasonable price. They plan to offer new limited edition recipes and some of the new styles planned sounded really tasty. Then we each ordered a glass of what we liked best. They have cans and bottles for purchase also. No food right now, and limited hours due to Covid, but over time I'm sure that will change. They do however offer delicious pastries and scones from Kelly's bakery which is top notch! We throughly enjoyed our experience here and will definitely be back!!

Knowledgeable and passionate here. I tried'em all! A very fun and exciting flight of many flavors. A must stop if you're in town! They know their meads and will educate you if you want the history, or leave you to enjoy the experience without history if that's what you're looking to do. Space is intimate and clean. There's a few tables outdoors too if you prefer.

Beautiful new tasting room right on Main St. Poughkeepsie. Right now is pick up only with options to order on site or ahead of time. Very easy transaction process overall. Can't wait to be able to stop in, sample, and hang out. If you're new to mead, I suggest checking out Slate Point Meadery's website for a much more eloquent description of the history, process, and uniqueness inherent to their product. Simply put, it's an alcoholic beverage made from honey. Their mead is a session style, offering various flavors with a range of dry to sweet. I first tried mead when I was 16 years old (in Bunratty Castle in Ireland ) - it was thick, sweet, and strong coming in at a whopping 15% abv. Unlike my initial sampling years ago, SP Meadery's session mead is often much lower abv, moderately dry, and awesome to drink on a hot day. The "Sweet Spot" Lemonade-style mead is so refreshing, great for a day at the beach or for an epic tailgate, picnic, or baseball game. It even comes in cans. I haven't tried all the flavors yet, but I'll surely be back to grab some more soon. Today's drink of choice was their newly debuted "Rivers and Rosés" - absolutely amazing.
