She was kind, patient, and professional throughout the whole process. She explained what was going on with my hair and scalp, educated me about flakes and extension styles, and made sure I understood how to take care of everything. Overall, the service was excellent, the pricing was fair, and I felt very well taken care of. I definitely recommend her.

This response is for Mrs Darlene that posted her review saying that I was disrespectful to her,…read morewell the truth is that I always respect to all my clients, unfortunately we can't make everyone happy, this Lady act like a Karen, she asked me to cut her hair as she described, I always like to cut went hair to make easier and perfect cut, since she walked in I asked gently to wet her hair, she said she was washed already but it was dry,she had her own combe and she kept combining her her dry and she has freezy hair, after I wet her hair she kept saying what style she wanted and she said that more than 8 times, and she asked for clippers number 3, soon I started she wanted to look at my client that just walked in, he is a especial need client and she was worried about him asking if he was ok. I tried to keep her Head lower to cut her hair and every time I touched her hair she kept saying that she don't want to cut short, I Said that I was just cleaning the cut she has, after I finish to use the clippers I started to pull down the top part to make fade and even, she star to freak out saying that I cut too much, I showed her that it was only the ends less than 6 milimiter, she started to act like Karen, o told her this cut her for more than 40 years and I said if she wasn't feeling comfortable I could stop, suddenly she standing up removing cap and said that I was rude and I told her to leave and she kept making show in front of my clients, everyone inside was shocked the way she acted, I told her to leave because I have so many clients waiting and I was going to change for the hair cut I didn't finish, she said she was going to tell everyone in the neighborhood that I was the worst hairdresser she met, I agreed and asked her to leave. This is the real story that really happened. There's so many people that even if we charge cheap for a hair cut they don't want to pay and create a scene, believe or not but there is. I hope she don't do the same ti another hair salon. Thank you for all my clients for more than 21 years in this location. Thank you everyone. Carlos.

This week I am taking my 9 month old granddaughter for her first Fei Fei hair cut. Prior to discovering Fei Fei, I used to go to Jeffrey on Newbury Street. There I got a half-hearted shampoo, a 5-minute cutting session , a 40-minute color sitting - all for $180 and the prices seemed to go up each month. Fei Fei is almost maddeningly meticulous with my layered cut - which grows nicely and is simple to maintain. Same deal with the hair coloring - takes her time and is extra careful. I've gotten so many compliments over the dozen or so years although I wish the whole routine didn't take 2 hours. The cost - about $100 in 2012...I wonder what Jeffrey is charging now on Newbury Street...

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Unique 8 Hair Place…read more I called the day before to make an appointment for the next day at 5pm. The day of, I called again to see if they could add another appointment for my friend--both of us just wanted a wash, blow dry, and curls. They told us they could actually take us earlier at 4pm, which sounded perfect. We arrived right at 4pm, only to be told it would be over an hour wait before we could be seen. At that point I asked what the purpose of making an appointment was. The staff told us they couldn't account for walk-ins. So essentially our appointment was pushed back because of walk-ins? That makes no sense. If walk-ins are prioritized, then what's the point of scheduling ahead? There was also no call or message to let us know they were running behind before we arrived. It felt very unprofessional and like our time wasn't respected at all. Appointments should mean something. Otherwise customers might as well just walk in.
