The WORST apartment building in every way imaginable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! As someone approaching my 7th month living here, I can tell you it is NOT WORTH IT! The tour we received was extremely deceitful and here's a few reasons why: 1) Parking - the parking garage at SkyVue is worse than finding parking on campus for class. There is zero guest parking, and they WILL tow you if you attempt to overnight at the leasing office spots. Snow and ice is drafted onto every floor, making going up and down a slippery nightmare. Every turn is a dangerous blind corner. The gate at the bottom is very narrow, and it's been broken for well over half my time living here (meaning anyone has access to your vehicles). The top floor, where I park, has never been effectively plowed or salted. There was a point where I had to put my car in 4wd for a week straight, just to pull out of my spot. 2) Trash - do not let the "trash chutes on every floor" deceive you. Within the first month, all 9 floors had trash pouring out of the chute room. It has stayed that way my entire lease term. The pile is so large that it towers over the doors and spreads throughout the parking garage. Hallways nearby reek like month old garbage. Nothing like stepping on someone's leaking trash bag on the way to your car! 3) Living Space - when I moved in, our sectional couch was so worn down that there was hundreds of pieces of synthetic leather all over the floor. My roommate and I sweep every other day, and somehow it's shedding just as much as it did the first week here. We submitted a maintenance request the first week we lived here, and have submitted 3 since then. I've been told by multiple maintenance workers that "nearly every apartment has asked for new cushions" and "they are so back ordered I can't even give you an ETA". You'd think if this was such a widespread issue, they would order some more, but I guess that's too much work! 4) Amenities - this place is an absolute maze. It's shaped like a figure 8, meaning walking anywhere takes forever (and there's no signs anywhere to help guide you). The grand "48 person hot tub" that they flaunt like a 5-star hotel experience was broken within a few weeks of winter. It doesn't get above probably 95', meaning it feels more like a warm bath. The gym is okay, it's about the size of the lobby you start your tour in and they don't keep it functional year round. I was pretty excited about the Peloton, only to realize that the seat was broken and stuck at the shortest setting the first week I lived there! TL;DR: RUN, don't walk away. For $50-$100 more per month, you can live in some of the nicest apartment buildings in the city. Signing here was the biggest financial mistake I have ever made and I make it big point to make sure nobody younger than me makes that same mistake. The complex is aesthetically pleasing, but that is about it. It is very loud here at all times. I'm consistently woken up by people yelling at the pool at random times of the night, screaming in the parking garage, running down the hallways, or playing loud music. If you say anything to management, they tell you to call the on call assistant. Understandable. However, the on-call assistants have continuously done nothing to solve the issues. It's truly not even worth contacting anyone. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll be renting a hotel room during the week of finals and before important events in the future. The parking garage is rather narrow, and the corners are completely blind. You'd think there would be mirrors up to help? But nope. The gate is consistently broken as well, so judge the "gated" garage loosely. The pool area constantly smells like weed, despite the "nonsmoking" promise. So, don't have your windows open unless you want the smell to permeate your entire apartment. For a "high end" apartment, they do not reinforce any of their "rules" and the crowd that's drawn in has no consideration or respect for anyone else around them. The WiFi is pretty subpar as well, but it's free. I'd rather pay for my own internet and actually have decent connection, though. Also no guest parking sucks, though I do try to spend as much time visiting other people away from this complex as much as possible so it doesn't matter that much anyway. Overall, I wouldn't recommend living here. Not when there are cheaper places that are closer to campus. Unless you enjoy obnoxious places and/or sleeping in your closet to get away from the outside noise & people yelling right below you read more

Lived here for 6 months. Cheap utilities, good amenities, and the locations not horrible. Internets gone out ONCE in the whole time I've been here, and it was when that tornado hit in May (even then it was like 4 hrs). Kinda sad seeing people slander SkyVue. If it was about assholes overflowing the trash chutes or running into the parking garage gate, or even the hot tub malfunctioning, I'd get it. But the folks saying "I haven't had internet in months/weeks" are literally just capping. It's super annoying cause issues like bad internet are genuine things that some apartment complexes blow off. There's literally a 24/7 Community Assistant hotline and everything if anyone DOES have issues. I've been consistently pulling 250 Mbps since I moved in. By the way, it's FREE. Also it's like $40 for having your own parking space in a COVERED GARAGE. Maybe I'm just naive but I think that's a definite plus. Sadly, the guest parking issue is true, they don't really have guest parking. A lot of folks complaining about towing park under the big ass signs in the front that say EMPLOYEE PARKING for days and wonder why they get towed. Even so, it would be better to have guest parking rather than... nothing. Given how many people live here, it's pretty clean, maintenance is fast (if you can navigate the site to put in a service request), and the appliances are pretty reliable. If you're not sure about this place, book a tour, or see if they can give a walk-in tour (if it's the same day, they usually can). Skyvue is a different breed in terms of East Lansing apartments. The parking situation: absolutely awful, residents park in the guest spots, and people get towed a lot. And the staff does absolutely nothing about it. The smell: horrendous, there is definitely a certain smell in the parking garage and in some hallways that is disgusting. Staff doesn't seem to care at all. Location: eh, isn't super prime in terms of access to campus, but you get what you pay for. Fire alarms: on the upside they work, downside they are pulled alarming often. Multiple nights of sleep have been disrupted and everyone has been scared there is a fire, again no communication from the staff. Flooding: odd to have on an apartment checklist right? Not at skyvue. Thousands of gallons of water poured out of the elevator on every floor... people were evacuated... rooms deemed unsafe... loud fans everywhere read more

Not worth the $800+ rent in my opinion. Parking garage is poorly designed so you almost get into an accident every time you drive up or down (especially with all the bad drivers). If you want to have guests over, do not live here. There is hardly any guest parking and you will get towed ($500 fine) if you park outside of the guest parking area. Hot tub and other amenities close at 10 PM sharp, even on weekends. If you like to have people over and/or play music, there are people who are not in college that live here and will call noise complaints on you, even around 10 pm on weekends. Elevators are constantly breaking down and the place is trashed 24/7. I understand many of these things might not be SkyVue's fault directly, but they are all important to consider if you plan on living here. read more

My daughter has been a resident there in and while she's enjoyed living there the security in the parking structure leaves a lot to be desired. In the fall of 22 someone stole the catalytic converter out of her car that was in a gated parking structure. In the spring of 23 someone drilled a hole in her gas tank and stole all the gas out of it forcing us to replace her tank. Both of those instances ended up costing us $4500 and I would take serious consideration in selecting this venue based on the lack of security in their parking structure. read more

Not worth the price at all. I've lived here from 2019-2023and at first it was great and we never had any issues, but they let the place go this year. We had the flood, constant thefts from the parking garage, crap parking, spotty wifi, and they are still increasing rent. Me and my roommate are moving this year luckily, and I promise you that there are better places to lease. read more

Do NOT live here. There is no guest parking at all, and now they don't even give you warnings so you will get instantly towed at your expense. If you wanted your parents or a friend to visit, you can throw that plan out the window. Also the maintenance people are extremely slow. The gates to the parking garage have been broke for about 3 weeks now and people can come in and park at the spot you paid for. Yes you can tow them, but if it's after 6pm and the leasing office is closed, good luck! The dongle scanner to get into the building from the parking garage on the second floor has been broken (literally hanging of the wall from wires) for like 2 weeks now, so I have to walk down to the ground floor instead of going straight in the building. My light bulbs in my bathroom love to flash at least once a week and there are random dirt marks on the ceilings and doors, even in my bedroom. The wooden stairs inside of my apartment are disgusting. Someone egged the hallway outside of my front door and it took the around a week before they cleaned the rotting smelly eggs. The breaker to the garbage disposal trips every other day, and we don't have anything plugged in that would cause this. The sears lot behind the place doesn't allow parking even though it's huge and empty all of the time, so don't expect to be able to park there, not to mention the massive amounts of homeless people that live around skyvue, it's like worse than Windsor Canada ifykyk. On top of all of this, they still have the audacity to raise rent next year. The only good thing about this place is Kroger. And don't get fooled by the hot tub, the one time I went in there this semester it was "warm". I 100% do not recommend and I am definitely not coming back next year. read more

It is extremely embrassing to have such a slow response to a preventable disaster. It gas been almost a week since a flood occured that ruined hundreds of units leaving hundreds of students and people homeless. In times like this, constant updates about future accomodations and plans of action would be reassuring, compared to the emails that only consist of "we will update you in x amount of days," and then recieve no updates. Truly one of the worst managements I've witnessed. How does a resident not know whats going on after so long and be left in the dark leaving them no choice but to go see their apartmenrs have been rearranged and moved and filled with fans with threats of mold? I visited recently and developed a sore throat from the stench in the hallways and apartments. Seriously embarassing. read more

If you are someone who need to be flexible with prices and housing DO NOT LIVE HERE. they do not give one crap about you and only care about themselves! I was in a tough situation money wise and needed to leave to live at home and they still wanted to charge me and THE AUDACITY THAT THEY HAD TO ASK ME TO RENEW! R U CRAZY! i should have lived somewhere else where i could have just left easily and figured out the rest of my shit. I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Truly the worst possible place could choose to live. Every hallway always smelled like vomit or rotting garbage because the building was horrifically dirty & disgusting. There was constantly piles of vomit in the elevator as well as tons of garbage. Every one of the rooms with the trash chutes where you're supposed to dispose of garbage were always filled to the brim, to the point that the rooms always had mice, rats, flies, maggots & other creatures. If you end up being unlucky like I was, & end up with horrible roommates, management will do absolutely nothing to help you. I watched my 2 psychotic roommates bully our 4th roommate into leaving altogether & despite her providing management with various doctor's reports/notes displaying her deteriorating mental health, management couldn't possibly have cared less. Our 4th roommate chose to live elsewhere & still pay the outrageous rent price because 1. it truly wasn't worth it to stay there & experience bullying for no reason & 2. management offered no opportunity to move into another unit. Essentially, management does not see its residents as actual people. It sees its residents as money & nothing else. The parking structure is horribly unsafe & accidents happened on a daily basis because there's no possible way to properly see around the corners. Not to mention, there were a great number of crimes committed against people's cars in the parking structure whether it was stealing parts, gas, etc. Never go in the hot tub, far too many people have hooked up in it. I pay high rent for a small apartment that cant keep heat in or cold out, my kitchen table broke moving it across the floor, I am being charged 150 dollars a month for electricity (mind you that is HALF because I room with one other person) and the fire alarms have been set off three times while I've been there. Two of the times the fire alarms have been set off were after 3 AM and the fire department discovered that not half of the alarms in the building went off, leaving hundreds of people still asleep. Live on the first floor and coming from the parking garage I have to take an elevator up to the FIRST FLOOR (wtf) or I have to walk halfway around the building. Would not recommend living here unless you are mega rich and do not care about your overpriced tenement housing. read more

Parking garage door has been broken since we moved in, and instead of fixing the issue staff keeps removing the door props, forcing anyone who parks on said floor to find alternate routes. And I know factually that other floors have similar issues. In addition to that, when we moved in there were multiple broken things in the apartment and old urine in my toilet. Possibly my final update, will improve if building management shapes up. The only remaining quality of this building is the cool security team who genuinely cares about the tenants. Five times this week I have stepped into a puddle of dog pee in the elevator. FIVE TIMES. Our door to our floor still isn't fixed, building management claims it's because they cannot get the part due to back order, so I took it upon myself to look up the part by serial number, and sure enough, it's in stock and ready to be ordered. I'm almost at the point of doing it myself concerning the only other door to get in works about 30% of the time and results in me standing in the cold for a solid 3 minutes trying to get into the building I pay a grand a month to live in. They still do not understand their own buildings security locks, concerning probably about half the keys work on the hot tub after 2 am, resulting in people outside at 3am. They genuinely just want your money, and then will not stock any of the amenities they market around, nor care about if somethings broken in the building. The collage students working in the office do the best they can, and I appreciate that, but I've never once seen the actual "on site" building manager, nor anyone else who has any qualified background to manage tenants. As of right now, if you missed the housing leasing period and can't live on campus, the worst DTN managed property (they are horrible btw) is probably two full yards ahead of this property management. Best apartment complex to live in the Lansing area. The employees are always happy to help and are super kind and friendly. The managers are so helpful and helped me with a change in my rooms. They have awesome amenities too!! The hot tub, study lounges and community lounges are always occupied with other residents! I would like to start off this review by stating that I have actually in Skyvue apartments for the past 10 months. I would caution people to be skeptical of short and positive reviews because the management BRIBED people with a free pizza to write a review online. From the beginning of my time living in Skyvue, I feel as if I have been scammed. I was told things when touring that were just UNTRUE. Skyvue boasts a short walk to campus. Keep in mind that it is a 10-minute walk MIN. to the edge of Brody neighborhood, crossing busy Michigan Ave. There is no bus taking students onto campus, which is so inconvenient. ANOTHER promise was that there would be study lounges and trash rooms on every floor. The first or second floor have NEITHER a study lounge or a garbage room. I later found out are "less desirable floors", which they are now discounting in price. Keep in mind that ELECTRICITY is the only thing you pay for, but it runs everything in the apartment. Skyvue clearly had difficulties gaining full capacity from the beginning because people are paying HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS less on the same apartments, on MORE DESIRABLE FLOORS. It was clear that all Skyvue has cared about is getting more people in, rather than TAKING CARE of the people who already live there. THE PARKING GARAGE IS THE WORST PARKING GARAGE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. The garage itself is SO NARROW and every turn is a BLIND TURN. NOT ONLY do you have to go so slow around every BLIND CORNER, you have to watch out for the other people who are going so fast down the parking garage. 2 small cars cannot even turn a corner at the same time. Also, 1/2 they year, the other exit in the parking garage was BLOCKED OFF because a huge part of THE GARAGE BEAM WAS CRUMBLING. * People throw their trash all over the place because there is no true trash room on the second floor. Large amounts of trash sit in places in the building for days which is GROSS. * THE 24/7 SECURITY FOOTAGE IS A JOKE. I have personally had my car hit by the person who has an assigned spot next to me in the garage and the police department had to contact Skyvue management. They were told by Skyvue that my car was not in view of the cameras. LITERALLY WHAT IS THE POINT THEN! It's even more concerning knowing that Skyvue has had issues with people breaking into the cars in the garage. * The bike racks on the wall suck. In reality, the bike racks save little to no extra space and are a pain in the ass. * THE MOPED PARKING was so frustrating. Skyvue has moped parking areas, but this did not stop mopeds from parking wherever they wanted. A responsible management would keep an eye on this and ticket or tow the mopeds like they are constantly doing with people's cars, but this wasn't the case. * There is VERY LITTLE guest parking in/around the building, which is ridiculous for an apartment complex this size. They also tow cars like crazy. The layout of the building sucks. The hot tub that they boast isn't even working right now and the times I have used it made me think that it isn't cleaned. Skyvue is pet friendly, but there is little green room to take your pet to the bathroom/play with it. There is always dog poop all over the stairwells and hallways. They BLAST shitty pop music in the entire lobby area of the building 24 HOURS A DAY, making the downstairs study lounge NOT AT ALL SUITABLE for studying. You can tell that the units were sloppily put together. Within the first week of living there, our water to our appliances wasn't connected and there was a crack in one of our kitchen cabinets that STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED. The walls in the apartment are PAPER THIN. Also, the stools in the kitchen make an ungodly loud sound every time you move them. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATING AND COOLING. The vents do not heat the small apartment evenly. I have a room with two outside walls. It was horrible. Even with the heat or air on, you could legitimately not tell in my room. Shouldn't be the case when electricity is literally the only thing you're paying for. Also, the windows were clearly low-grade builder's quality, don't open at all, and let in so much heat and cold air. THE MANAGEMENT of Skyvue is infuriating. They are unhelpful and have given me misinformation. The ENTIRE YEAR the electric billing system wasn't set up correctly. It took 4-5 months for us to get the first electric bill. Many times my account was mischarged/overcharged for electric/parking. The electric bills are not regularly posted, leaving residents to question when they have to pay their bill. Also, one of my roommates didn't get an email update on IMPORTANT things concerning residents the entire year. She went down to the leasing office at least 5 times and it wasn't fixed. Overall, I would CAUTION anyone looking into these apartments to really do their research and not get sucked into the management's flashy words or deals! read more
