They truly were sincere in hearing the sentimental story about my mother's bracelet and went all out to make sure it fit her tiny wrist and installed an easier clasps for her tiny fingers. I told them it's hard finding a genuine custom made jeweler who truly is knowledgeable, can also alter and can fix existing jewelry these days! This experience I had with them really wanted me to come back in the near future for any jewelry issues and/or wanting a new costume made jewelry (a hint for my husband to checkout for my jewelry wishlist at their location;). There was only one employee who was busy appraising jewelry for a customer. This would not have been a problem, but it honestly seemed very unwelcoming how completely we were ignored. If you need anything I can help you momentarily" is nice, but I am not the type of person that gets huffy if I don't get greeted, but I was completely invisible for at least 5+ minutes while we waited by the display we were interested in trying to make eye contact from 5 feet away. I was finally able to try on some pieces, but the lighting in there was so poor (unlike traditional jewelry stores that are very well lit) that I really had a hard time seeing the pieces I was trying on. I know vintage pieces were designed to be viewed in candlelight, but that's not the case anymore, and it would be nice to clearly see what I am planning on purchasing. Also, everything looked really nice online and had ratings of VS2+, yet in the poor lighting, there appeared to be significant flaws in the diamonds that were visible to the naked eye. To me, a lot of the pieces looked like they had taken a beating. Besides being a cold experience, at one point, while we were looking at one tray of rings, the guy pointed out that one was missing so he would know not to assume we stole something. What?!? Besides the fact that I apparently look like a jewel thief, are you going to seriously say that to a customer?? He ended up only charging us $6 per watch, since he said the job ended up being easier rather than harder, which is a really nice deal. I asked them how long they've been in business, also; they've been at this location for five years, but they used to be at 16 and Dequindre for 25 years before that. (so, needless to say, they know their craft!) Overall I would recommend this jeweler for your resizing needs, he said they do bands (custom bands, I'm guessing?) as well, and of course they have rings and other jewelry for sale too.

If I'm totally honest, the reason I picked this place is because it's the same name as a casino in Las Vegas. Silly reason, I know. But, I do understand that rings sometimes have issues. And, in this case, my wife realized that her diamond was a bit loose. So, here's where I got an education about diamonds that I hoped I would never need. First of all, to get coverage on your homeowners insurance, you have to make a specific rider to your insurance. I didn't do that. Fortunately, the lady at Golden Nugget helped me through the whole thing. It didn't surprise me that she tried to convince me that the diamond itself should be replaced. She gave me that magnifying eyepiece that jewelers use, and she said, "Look, there's a chip on the top part over there." I couldn't see anything. And, if I can't see anything with magnification, I don't think it's that big of a deal. For the record, my wife was OK with that decision, especially since our daughter just started college. But, the nice thing was that she didn't press the issue. When she found out I didn't have insurance coverage, she helped me find the best possible option to reset the diamond. It cost $180, which seems like a lot, and it took a week to do, which seemed like a long time, but it's a small price compared to the price of the diamond itself. And, the ring seriously looks like a new ring after the repair. One minor annoyance was that they won't do appraisals on rings that they didn't sell. But, if I have any issues with my ring or with hers again, I think I'll come back here. And, by then, I should have my homeowners insurance in place to cover it.

There is one Security Person (Mark) I don't know his last name, but he went way above and beyond his official capacity. I had fallen a week ago and was walking on a cane. He saw me sitting on the bench waiting for my husband to get the car and pick me up. He took a minute from his job to help me to the car and be sure I was buckled in. We were parked right outside the center court entrance. That act of kindness meant so much to me and I will never to be able to thank him enough.
