When I lived abroad, I used to have to visit the laundromat once a week. It was such a pain;…read moredragging my clothes there, waiting around, lugging it back home. I remember it would take up half my Sundays...oh, I spent so many hungover Sundays waiting for that darned buzzer and reading OK! magazine. Luckily, back at home I only visit a laundromat under very special circumstances. Once when my washer broke and, most recently, because I had to wash some heavy duty items that I can't wash at home. I decided to try out this place because of how close it was to home. I have passed by the Little Valley Laundromat a million times when I drive up and down 8 Mile, always thinking about how retro-cute their sign is. Today I ventured in to wash some sleeping bags, pillows and towels from my most recent camping trip. Walking in was like stepping into the 80s (the sign could have been a clue), as all the machines looked pretty weathered and aged. The laundromat itself, its on the smaller side. They offer three different sized washing machines, with only one available of the largest drum size. The other two were only for staff use. They also offer the standard large sized dryers typical of most laundromats. I ended up using the largest drum washer, which cost $5.50, for my sleeping bags and pillows. I also used a standard washer, which cost $2.00, for all my other camping gear. The dryers cost a quarter per 6 minutes. Are those prices normal? Honestly, I don't have much to compare to, but I did think $5.50 for that largest load was kind of high. However, while I was sitting around, I heard someone mention that the same machine costs $6.00 down the road. The space was clean and tidy, but seriously, it looks like the whole place hasn't gotten a make-over since 1983. Like I mentioned before, the machines seemed old but they still got the job done so I can't complain. The lady who was working was nice enough to show me how to use the larger machine and to change out some quarters, as they don't have a change machine. They also offer drop-off laundry service. If the need arises again, I know this place will get the job done despite its retro look and feel.

I may as well have just copied and pasted Nikita's whole review because I had the same horrible…read moreexperience at Little Valley Laundrymat. The difference is I got there BEFORE 8:30pm. I got there at 8:24 and my clothes needed to dry until 8:54. He had well enough time to continue to clean up and would be no reason for anyone to feel rushed. The man has HORRIBLE customer service. He denied me service to simple dry my clothes Before the last load time and I got back in the car and realized it wasn't even 8:30pm yet and even stood outside as he ignored me like I wasn't standing there. I had to call in there and he stated "IM CLOSED" and shood me away ina disrespectful manner when I never disrespected him" PULL THE FOOTAGE!!! I took a picture of the signs on the door which stated the hours of operation were close at 9:30pm last load in my 8:30pm . This was the Worst customer service ever !!! I recommended NOT going to this place and having to deal with his rude unprofessional behavior.
