Rukmini (the owner) is great! She really listens to what you want and delivers every time! I actually hired her for my wedding and she did such a great job! I was so happy with my photos and felt beautiful. My sister also hired her for her wedding recently and we all got so many compliments. I'm always excited for my appointments with Ruk. Every cut and color I've gotten from her has always generated endless compliments from fam/friends AND strangers! That's how you know your color is awesome when random people have to stop and tell how cool your color is. I usually come in thinking I want my hair cut a certain way or length but Ruk will always give her most honest opinion on if she thinks the length would be too short for my face or if the color isn't quite right for my skin tone. Kinda don't like spreading the word on good places because I get selfish - but I gotta do right by the business since they absolutely done me right! I have fine, limp, asian-black hair, and always found it difficult to find a colorist that can color to my satisfaction without frying it off because basically my color wants shift all over the rainbow depending on my mood. They were very professional from beginning to end, asking about the history of my hair, what I wanted, what to expect in order to achieve my requests. And before taking any steps that they needed with my hair - they made sure to explain first. I noticed this was applied to other patrons as well. No one was pushy, everyone was patient and worked efficiently and attentively. I came in blah, walked out BAM. Ruk was able to fit me in for a last minute appointment and did not disappoint! She has a really cute space and her staff is welcoming. As soon as I walked in and put my stuff down they were ready to wash my hair, and right after that Ruk gave me some beautiful layers and a blow out with lots of volume (which is tough with my super straight hair.) I had gotten a recommendation for a different salon from some friends of mine. But that salon didn't answer the phone, nor did they have any photos of any clients that had gotten an undercut. I was desperate for someone that could clean up my DIY undercut and trim. Skye Stylez not only had great reviews but also photos of other people with similar haircuts! I knew I would be able to walk in and not have to explain in too much detail what I wanted. "A trim and undercut please." That was enough for Ruk and she certainly delivered. The place is clean and cute. The new assistant did a great job washing and conditioning and Ruk gave me exactly what I wanted, for a reasonable price too. I will definitely be going back. read more

I felt the work of Ru was fine but do not feel the disclosure on pricing was too honest as was quoted much lower price on the phone than in person as charged more for color for another part of my hair. I feel the blowout as part of getting hair done should be included , not extra, the other salon I was going to was much less pricey. I felt they could be more upfront of pricing to check if ok with customer. I feel this was too high end price was but otherwise atmosphere was fine and workmanship as well as a very good shampoo girl. read more
