This was my first skydiving experience, and it was honestly the best. My best friend and I did it together, which made it even more special. The instructor who jumped with me was amazing and made the whole experience feel easy and safe. They communicated clearly, kept us comfortable, and really took care of us from start to finish. There was definitely about 10 seconds of fear, but once you jump, it completely disappears and turns into pure excitement. It was an incredible experience and something I'll never forget. This was my first time skydiving, my instructor whom I made the tandem jump with was Leon. He's from Brazil, very experienced and professional. Everyone was very friendly and made this one of the best experiences of my life. I was nervous when I arrived but as soon as I boarded the plane I was completely relaxed, no fear at all. I was living in the moment just looking at the beautiful scenery below. I have traveled to a lot of places in the world but looking at the coast and mountains from Palos Verdes and Catalina all the way to Santa Barbara and inland was awesome. Stepping out of the plane and feeling the free fall for a few seconds felt more like being in a wind tunnel and didn't get that feeling like in a passenger plane losing altitude. I was actually pretty calm and enjoying the experience jumping from the plane. It really wasn't scary at all and I wished it lasted longer. After the parachute opened it was a smooth ride all the way until we landed. One of the most beautiful experiences I have been fortunate to ever have. read more

What an amazing experience! We went to celebrate a friends birthday and couldn't recommend a better way to ring in a new decade. Got there at 10am, was given a quick run down on expectations, and by 10:30 we were boarding a Cessna. The flight up was an experience itself, with beautiful views of autumn foliage on the left, and ocean views on the right. I felt comfortable during our ascent, as Dan, my skydiving man, and I had a casual conversation about life (haha). The entire time he was professional, informative, and an overall great person to interact with. I couldn't have imagined a better person to jump 18k feet from the ground with. On the jump itself, it was about 30seconds of free falling, and 5 minutes of gliding. The thrill of it was filled with throttle as no inkling of fear permeated into my psych lolz. My husband, bff, and I went here to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had the best experience with Alex and Jacob and the whole crew at Skydive Coastal California. The process was pretty easy when we got in. We were greeted by Andrew in the front and he was there to review our waiver. He was super nice, friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions and got us going. We had to split up our threesome because the plane only fit 2 tandems at a time. My bff went first. We got to watch him from the landing zone. He seemed to have a great time in the air. We then went back to the skydiving office so we could get our gear on. Alex and Jacob were showing us how to get out of the plane and what our body position should look like. They were really chill about it like it was no big deal. My husband was taking it all in because he was the one who was really nervous about this jump. Once we got our harnesses on, it was time to drive to the Camarillo airport. We got on tiny plane and headed off. It was an absolutely beautiful day, hardly any clouds in the sky and it wasn't a bumpy ride at all, considering there was a bit of wind. My husband was right next to the door so Alex, my husband's tandem partner, was able to slide the door up in mid-air so my husband can really look out at the ocean, the fields, and the mountains. My husband was a bit nervous because he's afraid of heights. Then Jacob, my tandem partner, said jokingly, "do a barrel roll". Alas, we didn't do a barrel roll, but we were getting ready to go because our instructors were starting to join our harnesses with theirs and tighten it up. The last piece was to put on our goggles and it was go time. My husband went first. You can see the look of fear in his face in the picture I posted. I was next. It was actually kind of difficult getting my foot out of the door, but once I did, there was no countdown, it was just go go go! I didn't have time to get nervous or scared. Once I realized I was in the air free-falling, I felt like I was actually flying and not falling. It was the most amazing, surreal feeling. Then the parachute opened and I felt the harness tug as we floated back down to earth. Jacob let me steer for a bit, which was a lot of fun. The views were breathtakingly beautiful. As we were landing, I could see my friends watching me. Jacob told me the exact time to stand up to land and I landed so gracefully. It's been 5 days and my husband and I are still talking about what a great experience it was, even for my husband who was pretty much shitting his pants everyday just thinking about it. I would 100% recommend going here. The views are epic and the people are so incredibly nice. Opt for the video and pictures if it's your first time. The video/photo quality is amazing. We had a great experience with Skydive Coastal California! I went my with my wife for both of our first time skydiving. The check in process is unique, as people had said in previous reviews. You walk in and there is a person on a zoom call you chat with. He goes over the costs and you pay with him. We opted for both of us to get the video footage of the experience. After you pay, you wait for the next open slot. It does benefit to arrive early in case multiple people have booked around the same time, you could save a lot of time by arriving early. It's important to note that the plane can only hold 4 people total, including the instructors. This means only 2 tandem pairs can go at anytime so if you are in a group of 3 or more you'll be broken up into groups of 2. Also, we were fortunate to have a day with great weather, but weather can certainly cause delays which isn't the fault of the business. On our day, the airport was pretty busy and we had to wait in the airplane for almost 20 minutes to takeoff because of all the arriving aircraft. Again, all these delays can add up but it's important to realize it's not anything the instructors or pilot can help change. Some people complain about the delays but it's kind of just part of the business. Again, showing up early can help put you ahead of other groups and save an hour or more of time! The actually skydive was incredible. Our instructors were Jamie and Seve and they were absolutely awesome. I couldn't recommend them more! We would love to go again! I went skydiving for the first time with Skydive Coastal earlier this year after my college graduation, and it was a superb and exhilarating experience! :D I loved every bit of it; thus, I would return to them in a heartbeat. Jacob, my instructor for that day, was beyond amazing! He was friendly, open, and helpful. Jacob made me feel comfortable the whole time, and it was delightful to have engaged in an intriguing and long conversation about skydiving. He was so informative, and I could tell he was an expert because of the large number of jumps he said he had completed over the years. Therefore, I knew I was in good hands. When I was nearing my jump, I felt a range of emotions. From nervousness to excitement, I felt so struck emotionally. It was a natural reaction, but as soon as I jumped, I felt nothing but euphoria, and it was far more thrilling than riding on a fast roller coaster. I loved that Jacob allowed me to maneuver the parachute, as shown in one of the attached photos below. It was so fun to control the parachute's handles because I could adjust the speed to my liking. For instance, sometimes we would fly quite fast, and other times it would be nice and smooth. Furthermore, the views we saw on the plane and during the jump were breathtaking. In sum, I am wholeheartedly thankful for having experienced my first tandem skydive with this company, and I cannot be any more appreciative of their kind and courteous service. read more

One of the worst experiences of my life. Booked this for a friends birthday, the worst of worst places. Started like this. Appointment at 12pm for 3 people. Then tell us to wait 1 hour because they've had too many people who showed up today. Then after waiting an hour, we're told we have to split up, when it was never mentioned when initially booked. After waiting another 2 HOURS. We were finally able to fly. Got in at 11:30am for a 12pm appointment and we weren't done till 4:15pm. Save yourself the headache go to Perris. I did my 3rd jump here with Seve and it was my favorite jump so far! Alex took my friend up and she had an amazing time for her first jump. We got a beautiful view of the beach and the mountains. Seve was clear with instructions, fun, and gave me a thrilling jump. Office was easy to find. They drive you out to the plane and drive you back to the office. Prius driver was nice and made sure we didn't forget our belongings we left in the car. Highly recommend this place. Even with the time adjustment and slight delay. Skydiving was on my bucket list, but I've given up on it because of them. They get 2 stars instead of 1 because I know someone who has done a jump with them and had a positive experience. That said, I will never have any experience with them as I am not comfortable entrusting my life and safety to a company that pressured me to skydive and penalized me for not skydiving during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and a global pandemic. Story below if you care to read further. I purchased a groupon for a tandem dive and redeemed it. My jump was cancelled due to weather. No one's fault and I rescheduled. I found out I was pregnant prior to my rescheduled jump so I had to cancel. They told me I could have a one-year extension, which is honestly not a lot of time considering how long it takes to be pregnant and then recover from having a person cut out of your body. I gave birth in February of 2020, literally right before lockdown. Since then, I've tried to keep rescheduling, but due to multiple reasons including recovering from a c-section, breastfeeding (having to pump or feed a baby at least every 4 hours when it takes nearly 2 hours just to get to Camarillo AND you might have to wait up to 4 hours just to get in the plane is NOT feasible) AND did not have access to childcare (again, due to the pandemic), I have only been realistically able to participate for the past 4-6 months. During the past 4-6 months, there was a pandemic, and lockdown wasn't really lifted until last month. Social distancing is impossible during tandem skydiving, and as a frontline healthcare worker, getting infected myself could harm a lot of people. Well, I can't go anymore because the extension they gave me expired. DURING A NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN. They counted my pregnancy, my decision to breastfeed, and a global pandemic against me and told me my time was up. If you've read this far, thank you. I've heard good things about this group from people who have jumped with them. So if you don't have a reason to be discriminated against and are okay with the risk of contacting covid (they don't require their employees to get vaccinated), I'm sure you'll do just fine. read more

Making my reservation was easy then it had to get cancelled due to rain and rescheduling was no problem then when we get there we are greeted and given all the information on what to expect. SO MUCH FUN! We booked with this company about 5 days before we were scheduled to fly. Unfortunately, due to high winds we had to reschedule, which was very easy. You get there and check in/pay in the office, they suit you up, and they drive you to the airport. We hopped on the plane and were on the plane within 30 minutes of arrival. The plane ride was about 10 minutes (only 2 jumpers fit in the plane, so it was me and my friend, hooked onto our instructors, and the pilot). The whole process was done within 1 hour. They were very explanatory throughout the whole process and I never felt unsafe. The landing was very easy and there is a parking lot for friends and family to watch! I'd recommend not using these guys but if you do, be smart and buy a GoPro before going. We ended up purchasing a certificate from Groupon. It was a bit confusing as we didn't see the fine print about an additional fee on top of the purchase price. (lesson learned- always check the fine print) Next time, we will just go through the company. On the day of my daughter's jump, she and her best friend were partnered with Andrew and Jacob. Jacob, my daughter's instructor was FANTASTIC. He was very friendly and instantly made my daughter calm and even more excited for her jump. As her parent watching her get ready, it was very cool to see how knowledgeable and calming he was for not just her but me. All of the crew who were there on her jump day were fantastic. (Jacob, Andrew, Alex, and Dan) The gentleman who was at their landing spot was very friendly as well. He gave me a breakdown of their jump, made sure I saw the plane coming, and let me know where to stand so everyone stayed safe. The only thing was not explained up front is that it's a small plane and can only accommodate 2 Jumpers at a time. They encourage you to invite friends to your group but don't tell you that only 2 of you can jump at a time so you will be waiting around for a group of 3 and up. From the moment I booked the jump, Erin and Dan stayed in touch with me via text and email. It was cloudy on the day of the jump, so we were delayed but Erin gave us a heads up and made us comfortable in their lounge the entire time. I would say bring back up to pass the time with fully-charged devices. Note: They do not allow pets inside their lounge. Skydiving was my activity of choice for my 18th birthday with my dad, and this was the company I chose to do it with! Initially, I wanted to sign up using Groupon, but I discovered that the time slots available with Groupon were much more limited and they didn't line up with my preferred timing for the day, so we ended up scheduling our jump directly through the company instead. Thanks to their "out of town" discount, we ended up paying only about $20 more than the Groupon deal would have netted us, so I thought it was worth pursuing that avenue instead. Because this was a pretty momentous occasion, I opted to purchase the video package for $90, which is decently steep, but ended up being worth it; more on that later. The building itself is not much more than a lobby/waiting room, and our check-in was done virtually by a guy over Zoom (which we thought was a bit odd, but everything went smoothly there). Although we arrived on time, we found ourselves waiting until about an hour after our time slot to actually leave to skydive. This is because there was a second pair of skydivers also scheduled in our same time slot, and the plane can only hold two people at once (with their tandem skydive partners, of course). So we had to wait for them to skydive and return before we could get geared up and leave as well. It wasn't a problem, but this wasn't communicated clearly beforehand, and it made me think they could work out their scheduling process a bit better. Just something to be aware of if you have a big group or if some of the slots for your preferred time are already taken. No complaints about the experience itself, which was incredible! My tandem partner was Dan, and my dad's was Alex. They talked us through every piece of the adventure while helping us gear up, then we piled into their small car outside with a driver and drove about 10 minutes to the hangar/takeoff field. We finished adjusting our gear, climbed into the tiny plane, and were airborne about 10 minutes later. We were in flight for 15 minutes before reaching altitude, then it was time to jump. Dan talked me through various procedures for the jump and landing mid-flight, as well as in the air as we parachuted down. The jump itself is indescribable--I've never done anything like it, and I hope to do it again! Everything went smoothly, from jumping off the step outside the plane to steering the parachute down to a smooth landing on the field below. Dan let me direct how we jumped (I wanted to do a flip), as well as let me steer the parachute and twist us in circles. I received the video file from our jump a few hours later via email, and was very impressed with its quality! Dan was an excellent videographer, and combined videos of our conversations with footage from the jump itself. The whole thing was well-edited and set to music, and I had so much fun watching and sharing it! I also was able to screenshot images from it so I had "photos" as well. Especially if it's your first jump, I'd highly recommend springing for the film, even though it's a bit pricey. It was so worth it for me! I would highly recommend this company. They were very professional and safe, as well as personable and friendly. Loved jumping with Dan and Alex, and they made my birthday so special. I can't wait to jump again someday!! read more
