It was my first coming here yesterday and all I can say that the food was great and everyone was very friendly. Will definitely come back for their famous Broasted Chicken.

    This is her second night!

Great place to go in the neighborhood. Nikki is the bartender when I go and she makes sure to take good care of her customers.

Wasn't even sure they were open today, but I saw people walking in and followed suit. I ordered at the kiosk at the front but didn't realize they only served food after 9. Figured I would just do the coffee and try the food another time. I got the Dulce de Leche Latte with almond milk. It was delicious. The couple next to me had ordered food and it smelled amazing, so I'll definitely be coming back. It's a beautiful coffee shop!

Not gonna lie, I remember when this place was known as The Wild Goose Meeting House. I made a lot…read moreof friends here. When it shutdown on August 23rd, 2024, that was a MAJOR gut punch. So, when I heard that The Best Coffee & Lounge would be taking its place, I was actually interested in it and having somewhere besides the Penrose Library to go to, as a hangout. So, when The Best Coffee & Lounge opened on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, I asked my mom to drop me off to check it out, after a dentist appointment. So, when I walked in, I met this old man with gray hair and a gray beard. Apparently, this guy is Tim Hines, one of the co-owners. When I was just trying to be clear on what not to do, he said "Okay, you don't have to repeat yourself." and, quite frankly, I was taken aback by his dickish attitude. Apparently, this guy was in the Afghanistan War in the Army and retired as a Colonel. Well, whoop-de-frickin'-do, pal. My dad/grandfather, Mr. Ivan Burdick, may he rest in peace, was in the Air Force and served for a little over 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant AND he fought in the Korean War and Vietnam War. So, on Thursday, May 29th, I came back and saw that Mr. Humberto Cabrera, the guy I met long before The Best Coffee & Lounge, when they were having a private event and, to my mistake, thought they were open, I told him about the way Tim was behaving yesterday and he apologized for it. So, he showed me around and then I bought a soda from them, played Killzone Mercenary on my Red PlayStation Vita Slim and went home. I went back on Friday, May 30th and I honestly things had been smoothed over and some of the staff there were nice, but it was short-lived. Why? See below. On Saturday, May 31st, I barely walked in and Tim, who was sitting at a table talking to a couple, gets up and tells me to leave ... without even giving me any valid reasoning for it. So, I left, only to come back and was standing outside on the phone with the police and getting his physical description. Anyway, Tim comes outside and I confronted him, demanding to know why he kicked me out and, of all the lame excuses he could come up with, his was that I was "loitering". Is this guy serious? I'm on public property! You don't have the authority to tell me where to be. Matter of fact, you can't tell ANYBODY that nonsense. I also told him that he has no right to be kicking people out, to which he tried to defend and I told him I was on the phone with the police and he seemed rather indifferent about it. I then called him a "piece of shit" AND flipped him off, too. What did he do? Walked away laughing. That's how immature and petty this man is. I find it extremely hard to believe that this place was once The Wild Goose Meeting House. In all honesty, if The Best Coffee & Lounge were to shutdown tomorrow, I wouldn't be bothered by it, at all. Especially not after Tim kicked me out. Also, businesses cannot kick people out just because they're hanging out. They have to have valid reasons for doing it, such as: A customer is behaving aggressively or inappropriately or being discriminatory, while under the influence of alcohol. They cannot kick people out, because of race, disabilities, etc. Doing so, can and often will be seen as discrimination and, in all honesty, that's EXACTLY how Tim made me feel that day. I kid you not, when The Wild Goose Meeting House was open, they've NEVER ONCE kicked me out. The Wild Goose welcomed me with open arms and treated me both fairly and with respect, as they did with everyone who walked through their doors to sit down and relax and maybe even order a drink or a soda or food and that's the big problem with The Best Coffee & Lounge. Humberto. As long as Tim is co-owner, things are NEVER going to improve. He's a problem that CLEARLY needs to be dealt with. Also. "The Best Coffee & Lounge", my ass. If they're so great, why is the place practically a ghost town, huh? I'll wait. Exactly. Ever since what happened last year, I have 0 plans of ever coming back to this God-awful place. I'll gladly take Supernova or Good Neighbors. Mr. Humberto, I hope things get better and Tim is kicked to the curb, but I can't justify recommending this place to anyone. Not after May 31st, 2025. Fuck The Best Coffee & Lounge.

Couldn't ask for more for our anniversary night out. They're up-leveling the menu in early April, but it's already so tasty! Had the waygu sliders, lobster-sweet corn fritters, shrimp skewers, and flourless chocolate torte. All superb! Next menu will be more locally inspired. It sounds great, but I'd go now before it changes as well, so you won't miss out on current offerings.

It was not. I've been ordering that martini for 27 years. After much discussion, the waitress agreed to bring me three olives. She did not want to take the drink back. We ordered the shrimp skewers and the corn and lobster balls. The shrimp was criminally overdone, basically seafood jerky. Neither my wife nor I could even taste the lobster in the balls, much less see any actual lobster meat in them. Lots and lots of corn, though. Very disappointing experience. The view was amazing, but for the price we paid, the service and food were substandard.
