The reviews on here and Facebook are mixed with both ridiculous and appropriate complaints. I am the previous GM or this establishment who would like to offer a genuine and honest review. First, people are complaining about watered down drinks. While it's understandable that some waitresses lack the ability to deliver drinks promptly, this is mostly an exaggeration by the type of people that like to hang out there. I have personally whipped up cocktails with FOUR to FIVE liquors in them (Texas Long Island and Liquid Marijuana) and delivered them myself, directly after pouring, only to be told that they could not taste the alcohol. Look, people in this area want free drinks and expect their bartenders to "hook them up" which basically implies that they want them to steal from their employer. Second, what this place suffers from is the unfortunate crowd from Port Arthur, as commented by people in previous reviews. This really is a problem. An embarrassing one. There was a shooting outside before I became the GM there. One night, a group of people spit in their own drinks and tried to say that I spit in them while attempting to follow me into the kitchen and attack me. This group waited outside for me until 4 in the morning and I was not allowed to call the cops. Some of my fellow employees had the nerve to tell me I was being racist and rude when I was not. I feared for my own safety there. My own friends and regulars would not come into the establishment after a certain hour and this is NEDERLAND! A small, suburban town. This isn't Houston. This isn't New York. But those are the only people willing to bring Sky Bar business and they don't seem to have a problem with that. There was also an incident where a very good friend of mine and regular was attacked by a woman at the juke box because he hit the "play next" button so she got upset because her little mind couldn't grasp the concept of skipping music in between her misogynistic rap shenanigans that was bothering everyone else at the bar. On the plus side, the food really is good. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich and the wings but the cook sits on a couch smoking hookah all day which is unappealing, something my friends pointed out when they would order food. He also did not follow protocol procedures and I'm not even sure if he actually had his food manager certificate because of the unorthodox ways he ran things. The waitresses Caty and Victoria are sweet hearts and a lot of fun. They're the best part of the experience along with the bar decor and lighting being quite lovely. They just need to work on a few things and I love the DJ too but a variety needs to be in order. People don't want to go to a place that plays nothing but rap music. read more

We will not be back! Moved down here to new job and stayed at hotel for a few days until we got settled into our home. The day time manager was pleasant and confident with drinks. The presentation and taste was there and she was very friendly and helpful in getting us to know the area better. We ordered the wings that were on special and I'm a little confused about the happy hour prices as well as a few items on the menu. The menu says Baby Jumbo Shrimp. Is there such a thing? We asked. The embarrassment on her face showed that as a manager she clearly knew the contradictory but couldn't help the situation. We felt sorry for her and ordered the wings. We wanted the wings half bbq half buffalo but the cook refused to do it. Another draw back from this place. The cook sits around on the couches all day smoking hookah then gets annoyed when a customer has to order food. How much is he getting paid hourly to watch TV and smoke hookah? We took 20 buffalo wings instead and the sauce was not neatly coated like most restaurants. It looked like he lazily drizzled the sauce on top and there was also no celery. Whatever. The drinks are good and cold. The music is pleasing and I thought about trying out the hookah until the DJ came in and played obscene rap music and a crowd of trash followed. We no longer felt safe, nor welcome. This is a place to relax with quality drinks? No. We came back in on a Saturday night and it was nothing but ghetto trash. It was so bad, that same manager that had been kind to us before was forced to hide in the back for hours because a group of people were waiting outside to get physical. Her employers wouldn't even call the cops! Today, we had crawfish at Good Times. Service was okay but the crawfish was great. We brought up the incident and mentioned that one of the women in the party was an albino black woman. All the servers knew who she was and said the woman and her friends have been kicked out and banned on several occasions at more than one location. Yelp is not guaranteed. Anyone can have bad service or food. But after going to Sky Bar a few times with Michael It's too pathetic to watch the poor girl support that place further. Hats off the the gm Rebecca. We been stayin at the hotel next door for a while but tonight was last night and watching her put up with the amount of bs she had to deal with tonight was impressive. Getting to know this woman with everything she has been through lately in and out of the hospital and bein a single mother with no child support who is up there every day working her ass off I just cant believe she still carries on. We hope to be back. place was packed for Sunday and she all by herself when new bartender didnt show up. This girl running around tryin to make everyone happy but some customers rude. One guy refused to give his ID so she refused service and his friends keep tryin to sneak him drinks. She stay on top and asked to please keep drinks away from him and they had nerve to call her rude and get upset. They want to plug they phone in for music to play and she refused. They get upset. They run her ass off when she has several of us at the bar needing drinks. These people ruin a good time for our last night here with our favorite bartender when places like Lukes were racist and poor service. Out of nowhere a fight at the jukebox breaks out. I think some guy hit some girl i don't know and all these people are tryin to fight. Rebecca is in the middle tryin to calm everyone down the best she can and all I could do was think that no one in this bar has idea just what is goin on in Rebeccas life and now she is puttin up with there stupid ass. If anyone is reading this. Please go in Sky Bar and show all the servers respect. They put up with lot bs. We hope to come back. Food good too and we love the hookah. read more

Amazing staff, beautiful bartenders and cocktail waitresses. They're extremely friendly and helpful. Such an inviting atmosphere. They know how to play the right music for the mood at a certain time period. Hookahs are bar none. I come from college station hookah lounge which is okay. This place definitely takes the cake. If you haven't been definitely go by on a Thursday or Saturday night around 10 you won't be disappointed. Good crowd size around 9pm and after if that's what your looking for. If you just want a place to chill this is the place to come before 9pm. Now the food has to be my favorite part of this place. Chill, eat, and smoke. What more do you need! read more

They just went from 5 star to 1 star because of a dumba** server. Been here at least 6 times in the past and it was great. This newer server decided tonight that one of our id's numbers didn't look right and said it's fake. We even offered to have a police officer come and verify the id. She said no cause I'll still refuse to serve. We didn't even want a drink we wanted a hookah and to relax!!! All people involved in our group were over 25. From now on we will go to Jerusalem Hookah in Beaumont. read more

Quite a little hidden gem in mid county. Ignore the other reviews all this place needs is for you to give it a chance. Amazing interior and super cool to have a place like this right here in Nederland. I had the philly chicken sandwhich - huge and actually quite good. read more

Great food and drink and has potential but too much rap music and ghetto PA crowd. Lovely drinnk menu. Chicken strips. Bar lit up nice.
