The rest of us waited a little bit past 15 minutes for our food. By the time ours came out, she was finished eating. Her food was good as well as two other meals in the group. Our drinks were not refilled either until one of us spoke up. Unfortunately, two of us got stuck with overcooked and very dry meals. I also wanted to mention Gary. I recently saw a review blaming him for a bad experience, and I have to say that hasn't been our experience at all. If you actually know Gary, you know he takes his job seriously and genuinely cares about keeping everyone safe. A good bouncer isn't there to make everyone happy, they're there to make sure patrons can enjoy themselves in a safe environment, and Gary does that well. When we visited four years ago, we felt rushed. I felt rushed this time as well. Obviously, Tia Juanita's is doing very well. You can't swing a rope without seeing another TJ's in SETX. It's probably just not our jam. I like a nice meal without feeling rushed. I also prefer to eat with a proper fork and knife. I would, however, like for the manager to respectfully respond to negative reviews. They seem to respond to positive reviews only.
