Due to all the COVID-19 weddings that occurred in 2020 and 2021, we along with other couples wanted to showcase our wedding and keep everyone safe so that they can enjoy the wedding in real time via video. I had previously attended a friend's virtual livestream wedding via YouTube and was fascinated how all guests showed up any time and could watch the wedding from the comfort of our homes. This was when I knew that we needed to have a livestream vendor. Since our wedding was postponed and we wanted to follow appropriate state regulation changes, we weren't sure how many guests we could invite and wanted to have a backup livestream option in case we needed to lower our guest count. Some videographers do have the equipment and capacity to include livestream as an add-on however our videographer did not have this capability, so we began our search for a livestream vendor. We received referrals from our videographer and browsed online to see which vendors provided this service. Majority of vendors were other videographers but was charging videography pricing. We didn't want to spend that much to hire another videographer and needed to find another solution. I happened to be browsing through Yelp and came across Patriot Video Productions. I had a great discussion with Joe about how he livestreamed weddings and had the capability to include our photo slideshow as well. We decided to book with Joe and Patriot Video Productions based on his professionalism and in-depth knowledge on livestream services but was also locally based in Orange County. Kelley was very responsive in getting back to me via email. When my husband and I first met Kelley & her husband Paul, we met them at a Starbucks in Costa Mesa. They were really nice and very easy going to talk to. They answered all of our questions. My husband was really against having a videographer at the wedding because he thought this was one expense that was not necessary. But after he spoke with them, he thought it would be okay to make allowance for one in our budget. After we met with them for about an hour, I knew that I would not feel awkward around them if they filmed our wedding. But as luck would have it, unfortunately they were not available on our wedding day (we had originally told them another date and they were available but once we found our venue, we were told our original date was not available and had to change it. With this new date change, they were not available). I was truly heart broken when Kelley told me that they were not available on our day to film and had to endure a frustrating search for another videographer team. And to be honest, I have seen so many videos (and I mean a TON) and none, absolutely NONE can compare to what 618 studios do, and at the price they had originally quoted us in 2010. Either the videos were really shaky at times and awkward panning of the camera or if it was nice and clean cut, the price was two times as much as what 618 was going to charge us. So even though my husband and I did not end up having Kelley & Paul film our wedding day, we still would gladly highly recommend them to any future bride & groom. (And yes every now and then I like to watch some of their recent videos because they do such an amazing job telling the story of 2 people starting their 1st new lives with each other) Their films are of high quality and nice and clean shots and transitions between scenes of the day (something I envy of all of these lucky brides & grooms who had them at their wedding). Honestly, I still wished that they had filmed our wedding because the videographer we hired is not nearly as awesome and our video wasn't nearly as clean cut and had some shaky shots (but was the next best thing for us, within our budget) and unnecessary camera panning.
