I've been coming here for around 6 years now this is my favorite yoga spot in Syracuse! The hot…read moreyoga gets me absolutely covered in sweat and I come out feeling like a whole new person (be sure to bring a towel!). The temperature of the class feels so nice and a great way to combat Syracuse winters! I've tried almost every instructor there, and each one is amazing. I love how each instructor puts their own spin on the way they run the class, so no two classes will be exactly the same. They also create a very welcoming and judgment-free environment, so it's great for yogis of all levels:) The juice bar juices and smoothies are delicious and always a great way to refuel after a challenging but rewarding workout!

Really clean and neatly run hot yoga studio. Tried a morning class and it was a perfect way to…read morestart the day. Class was $25 drop in and $5 for mat rental (came from out of town but otherwise would have brought a mat) for 75 minutes (~60 minutes more intense with a warm up and cool down stretch time for the rest. Had me sweating, engaging my muscle groups, and feeling refreshed by the end. There is also a cafe with coffee and smoothies plus a shop with exercise fits and yoga mats/towels for sale. Neatly curated. I was a bit surprised the class was led by an instructor who just dictated the flow rather than demoed the flow. Probably fine for those familiar but a bit in accessible for newbies. Usually like when instructors demo the movements and also offer alternates to make a position more advanced or more beginner friendly to meet different needs. I think that would be a nice way to improve the class but otherwise it was a good class.

I wish our schedules lined up more, especially on the weekends, but otherwise, I do not have a complaint in the world. It's a restorative practice opposed to some other studios that I have gone to. Infinite Light Yoga is still the best Yoga studio in Syracuse, NY…read more Tony, who leads most of the classes that ILY has to offer (including the teacher training they now do) is the real deal. After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.

Walking into…read morethis gem of a cafe is like walking into the wood cabin of my dreams - warm, inviting atmosphere with the scent of brewing coffee and tea, filled with local artisan products and two yoga studios up the back stairs. The space is clean, cozy, and comforting! The owners and staff are amazing as well! Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and patient. The owners are very knowledgeable about their coffee and tea products; Christina is in charge of the tea (and yoga) and makes her own blends, and John is in charge of the coffee and roasts the beans in house. You can absolutely tell how much care and knowledge both put into their craft and their products. I had an iced brown sugar shaken espresso, and it was exceptional! Smooth and balanced, the perfect amount of sweetness! It was, hands down, the best coffee drink I've ever had! I can't wait to come back to try their single origin coffee next time!

At the counter they have a case of baked goods, I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, but my partner found it too dry. The employees were super nice, which is always a plus at a business where customizing your order is part of the process. I will say that the pu-er tea late that I ordered was very weak. Even with a cinnamon brown sugar flavor shot it felt lacking. They sell a large variety of loose leaf teas, shirts, granola, and other goodies. For those who are religious, they have a prayer board where you can write prayers and hang them up. If I was going off just aesthetics the place looks great, but the tea was lacking, and the cinnamon roll only appeased 1 out of 2 people so I think I'm forced to give it a 3 out of 5.

Morningside Yoga - When will they ever get it right?

Morningside Yoga is a small little in-home studio in the Westcott area. If you're used to classes…read moreof 50+ people in the room, as I was, this Yoga studio provides a refreshingly different way to practice. The Yoga studio is an open and sunny room that overlooks a lush backyard. The classes are small - I've not been in one with more than ~8 people - which provides an atmosphere conducive to lots of one-on-one attention, and building friendships with the other regular students. The sessions themselves pull from numerous influences and doesn't fit neatly into any category. It's unique, and a little bit different every time, which keeps it always interesting. All that aside, though, the one reason why I kept going back was for the instructor. Michael, an "accomplished American master possessing great amounts of technical & philosophical knowledge combined with a genuine mystical connection to the path of yoga,"* is the owner of the studio, and his passion for Yoga is both immediately apparent and contagious. He lives Yoga. His Yoga passion is so much deeper than it-makes-my-tummy-tight-and-arms-toned, and students learn, through his classes, to practice Yoga in a similarly mindful way. He is a lifelong student (in more than just Yoga; he is also a black-belt and Buddhist meditator), which I found to be very inspiring to do the same. I just graduated Syracuse and, as a result, moved my life back over to the Bay Area. This is one of the things in Syracuse that I will miss the most. *quote is from company website
