Sky Spa - Medical Spas Near Me - Quebec City, Quebec

My daughter and I were super excited to visit the Sky Spa in Quebec! The neon lights were really pretty and the view was spectacular! We couldn't book any of the treatments or massages bcuz they were fully booked for the day, and we had decided to drop in last minute (taking advantage of their Black Friday Sale.) Coming from Toronto, ON I'd say we've been pretty spoiled with the Scandinave Spa up in Blue Mountain, which has always been our go-to... no other spa has quite measured up... including the Sky Spa. It was a lot smaller than we expected, but then again it is located on the top of one of Quebec's tallest skyscrapers. We were hoping to grab lunch there... and a couple of those cute cappuccinos with the heart designs, but apparently the "food truck" never came that day. So, we ventured to the Bulle bistro d'altitude fine dining experience next door! We're glad we did, as the Sky Spa didn't offer any refreshments, except for some tap water garnished with sliced lemons. It was our first time there and got a little lost inside. We couldn't find our way around and there was literally no one to escort us out to the patio, so we spent a lot of time wandering around. This is when we discovered the eucalyptus steam room (my favorite!) And the hot sauna room (Kristen's preference.) I think I saw a bar inside but it wasn't open. We arrived around 3p.m. on a weekday, so I'm not sure why the food and beverages had been shut down entirely, or why there was no one to answer any of our Qs. It would have been nice to enjoy a glass of wine... or something. We took a lot of selfies on the hot tub patio, as there was no supervision to tell us otherwise, or to ask people to be quiet. It was more of a laid back, chilled vibe. Let's connect! My wife and I came to Quebec City for our first wedding anniversary and were staying at the Chateau Frontenac in the heart of Old Quebec. We had hoped to spend one of our afternoons at a spa relaxing and getting a massage and had heard about Skyspa from our cousins and decided we'd try it out. Overall we found the experience a little underwhelming. Not to say bad, but for the price we paid we just expected a little bit more. We both got a one hour massage and paid for the use of their thermal experience. The thermal experience was definitely really neat; an outdoor heated whirlpool in the dead of winter is a truly unique and fun experience. The steam room and sauna were also quite nice and very relaxing. The massages on the other hand left a lot to be desired. My wife mentioned that her room had many windows which let a lot of light in. It was also not very quiet, and the noise from outside (including a very noisy truck) kind of interrupted the relaxing nature of the massage. My room was much darker but I found their music selection the be quite odd. At one point one of the songs playing included a great deal of bagpipes which I don't exactly find to be overly calming and relaxing. The massage itself was fine though, but again nothing to write home about. The staff were all very friendly, though of all the places we visited in the city their english was the weakest. There was by no means any issues with communicating, however it was clear they were not nearly as comfortable with english as those located in the more central touristy parts of the city. For those coming from old Quebec City it should be noted it was about a 20 minute cab ride from Chateau Frontenac which cost about $20 each way. Not outrageous, but something to take into consideration. Also, it costs extra for robes/sandals so you'd be best to bring your own. You can actually borrow sandals so long as you're okay with knowing someone else may have already worn them. We both opted not to get robes, but in the end would have been more comfortable had we done so (or brought our own). read more

Maybe it was my expectations of a spa experience - fluffy robes, water available before and after treatments, all amenities included, etc. We had to "rent" a robe above and beyond what we paid for services and thermal pools. No spa shoes. Massage was ok but nothing incredible. Thermal pool atmosphere is worth it but I'd skip out on the high school locker room spa experience. read more
