Sky Ranch Lodge has one of the best views of Sedona and locate on a table Mesa to make it more appealing. My husband and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving Week. They are dog friendly and so is the nearby Mesa Grill Restaurant. They have helicopter rides nearby also for the enthusiasts. It was a wonderful day at Sky Ranch Lodge. My husband and I enjoyed watching the sunset, and the room was extremely comfortable. The bed was amazing, with hotel-quality pillows, and the shampoo and conditioner were high quality. The bathroom was very spacious, and the shower was so calming--it felt like a gentle rain shower on my scalp. Everything about our stay was relaxing and comfortable. We came to celebrate a 50th birthday, and it was truly an amazing experience. We're from Texas and absolutely loved our stay here. We highly recommend it--come and stay here! read more

I have been to sky ranch several times over the years with my husband. We just spent a few days there and the place is starting to go downhill. The bed we slept in is sinking in on both sides and both my husband and I slept terrible. I usually like to stay by the pond and garden area and noticed that the grass is not being maintained. The rooms definitely need a makeover along with getting new beds. The housing on the mini split air conditioner was broken and the air conditioning barely worked. read more

Stayed here one night during my birthday trip to Sedona and loved it!! Beautiful grounds and friendly front desk. We loved our stay here. Our spacious room was very cozy and comfortable with a good mattress and an assortment of pillows. The heater was quiet. Small fridge and sink and dishes ..more like a mini efficiency with a little dining area and a lovely outdoor patio. Bathroom was clean and fairly spacious with great smelling toiletries. The shower was a little weak on the water but we were in a desert after all. We had people staying next to us but it was quiet and easy to sleep. Very clean room with efficient and excellent daily maid service. The fireplace was cozy and much appreciated on the cold nights. Front desk people were helpful and very friendly. We didn't partake in any of the happy hour specials here... too busy. I think the best thing was the view from our room. Just fabulous. No food here but right next door is Mesa Grille overlooking the airport which had amazing breakfast options. Never got a chance to see the pool or gardens. Thought the price was totally reasonable. I'm not getting these negative reviews here. This is in a great location next to the airport...we never heard or saw any planes the three days we were here. The view is amazing and you have a couple hiking options right outside the door. I'm very fussy about hotels and we just loved this place and if we come back to Sedona, we will definitely stay here again. read more

I've stayed here 20+ times...I definitely recommend, howeverrrrrrrrrr... Ask the front desk if there is a wedding before booking your stay.. ask for a rim view room or garden room ONLY. If you stay in the rooms at the back of the property you will encounter tarantulas, roaches, crickets, and all kinds of other desert wildlife you truly DONT WANT TO. The beds are firm but cozy. Hot tub is tiny so not much privacy if you're wanting an intimate experience with a love or even a sister. The excess of tourists in Sedona since Covid has caused an extreme increase in cost without any improvement.. including the type of people that stay at this place. Pet friendly, which is awesome. But as with all other places in Sedona, not many locals to choose from as employees so you get what you get.. Be specific with your requests and don't forget to ask about weddings and you'll enjoy your time here. read more

My friend and I are visiting Sedona for the first time and our experience at Sky Ranch has been wonderful! The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, the ranch itself is gorgeous, and the location - though it might seem a bit remote - is worth it for the views alone!! Folks staying in town drive up and pay to park just to see the vista that's right outside our door. And while we may not have a car with us, the hotel shuttle has made it so easy and convenient for us to get around town. This lodge has fantastic front desk employees and the grounds are pretty. Not worth the $400.00 a night charge at all. There is no restaurant, the heating and air is one of those units that either freeze's or burns you up and it's loud. The hot tub is mediocre, the pool was closed for the season, the bar had plastic panels hanging around it to keep the cold out and the people above us were up very late and we could hear every step they made. The beds were very comfortable but the pillows are small. The website talked about the beautiful views but we could not see them from our room. I also asked the front desk guy to please put us close to the hot tub and it took us a little while to find the tub. I don't think we could have been further away from the hot tub and it's not easy to locate. If these issues could be fixed I would recommend staying here. If the issues can't be resolved then I would recommend the lodge to lower the price. will say we stayed there on New Year's eve and maybe they raised their prices for the holiday. There are many choices in Sedona for $400.00 that are so much better for your buck. read more

Unashamedly sounding the alarm with this review on as many platforms as possible. You can have the best views in Sedona and beautiful grounds with good amenities...but if you have cockroaches how can I give anything but 1 star? I caught it, took it to the front desk, and was told, "this is a botanical garden, we have insects." Mind you, there were no other kinds of bugs in the room. I was told they spray insecticide twice weekly and was offered for maintenance to come and spray the room - but I said no since I had two sleeping children. The night shift at the front desk made a note and I said I would follow up in the morning upon checkout. The morning shift front desk worker was less concerned and apologetic compared to the evening employee. The morning shift could even be described as adversarial since they knew I had already raised the concern. They refused to offer any kind of compensation or reimbursement since I booked "with a third party." But that third party was Amex Platinum Travel - not Expedia or Travelocity like they told me. Still, they couldn't do anything so I had to reach out to my credit card company. I had to go through an Amex employee to get a compensation offer. The first one was a 22% reimbursement. I rejected that and asked for more. They went back and I got a 39% offer. I asked why we had to go back and forth and why wouldn't they just offer me the maximum amount they were authorized to do so and save the time and hassle. Well apparently that was the maximum so that is what I got. But I think it should have been a full refund. That's why I'm writing this review. I would trade the views for a cockroach free room - wouldn't you? read more

Ahhh I wanted to like this place but we wish we had gone elsewhere. It's beautiful and nice, do not get me wrong but we had a few meh moments. For starters, the toilet didn't work upon arrival and we had to get assistance. THE ENTIRE PLACE WAS EMPTY and we felt like we were a "burden" with the annoyance we felt asking for help. Secondly, we went to dinner after a 4 hour drive and came back to crash and the tv didn't work and we were told it takes 15-20 minutes to reset. By this point, we just crashed and lastly, again, the entire place was empty (maybe 3 cars) and I 100% get that we paid for a certain room, (I wanna say like $230 a night-ish like more than enough for a decent upgrade IN AN EMPTY HOTEL) but why not upgrade us to the exact same room just with a nicer view on Christmas Eve Eve? That alone rubbed us all the wrong way but I get.. you get what you pay for but an empty hotel...come on. We all agreed it was ok but we wish we had stayed somewhere else for that cost. View was beautiful from the wedding patio area. Pool was nice (small, only 5 feet deep) but had lots of places to sit. Comcast to the TV was nice to watch shows off my phone. Cons: no breakfast. No view from the room. Be very clear on the room you want. Two story rooms can hear every little noise. Fridge did not work well. Toiletries were not good and toilet paper was rough. Bar area did not have cold drinks. Glass out of their fridge was warm and made the drinks warm. Confusing to walk around and made finding where you were going a bit difficult. read more

Haw was my disappointment when we learned that we are not allowed to go there because they have wedding. nobody told me about wedding scheduling for month of May at time of reservation. Charging $ 360 for 1 night without the view from patio is unacceptable. we stay in the room at the back of property with view on dirty pond and dirty garden is also unacceptable. I had the pleasure of staying at this cozy lodge for a wedding it was so beautiful the views are absolutely amazing. The pool and hot tub were very fun to use. The rooms are placed nicely on the property it's very quiet and serene. I was able to get some work done with some great Wi-Fi, watch some TV very relaxing. The airport nearby with a restaurant was very favorable and it's also cool to watch all the plans take off, it's super fun location. I highly recommend this spot in Sedona. read more

The property is gorgeous and the staff is great. Views can not be beat - best in all of Sedona. However, the beds are incredibly uncomfortable and neither me or my partner could sleep. They are so soft and old you will roll right into the middle of the bed and sink. They spent so much money making room improvements since covid but the bed situation does not justify the prices doubling. I used to spend 179 a night - now it's 400. The good- The room was nice, the location is great. The disappointing- for paying over 500 a night, there is no gym, no on site eating options. They do have a shuttle that will take you to town if needed. They forgot to give me the welcome basket for the wedding party, only to then lose it when I was told there was a welcome basket. The wedding event was great if you are not a vegan. When the wedding planner came to confirm the vegan options the night before, I had some hope. We gave multiple vegan options they could do. Come the wedding night dinner, they pre buttered the bread, put cheese on the salad, and served only a slightly larger portion of vegetables that everyone else was served as a side. I asked if it was possible to get a salad without the cheese, only to be told.... "Nope". I get it, salads are pretty hard to make..... We ended up having to leave the wedding before the restaurants nearby closed. It wasn't my wedding so I hope it was great for the honored couple, but from our perspective it was a Fail at every opportunity they had to fix it. Complete lack of caring. They cherry on top was when they lost the gift bag I was supposed to get and the front desk could not care less. Save yourself the trouble and get an Airbnb nearby. read more

I came here as a member of a wedding for the first time in my official capacity as the Flower Boy. I must say I am bit turned off by any sleeping arrangement that uses the term "lodge" in it. But I must say this location did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly, the views were amazing from my balcony, and you can walk right down to a quick hiking trail from the lodge. As one of the Most important members of the wedding party I must say collectively we all felt like the rooms were comfortable, cool (because it gets HOT depending on time of year), and cleaned daily. Nonetheless, this may be the first lodge I would be returning to. Pro Tip: get a room with a view and you'll find a new appreciation for sunsets! read more

I am reluctantly posting this as it is a totally hidden gem of a hotel! The location is the best in Sedona! Right by hiking trails and the best view overlooking the city and mountains. The front staff is amazing! Fresh coffee and home made cookies! Small area for drinks and a small shop. Room was spacious and really well decorated. Shower and bathroom great! Small kitchenette and comfy beds. We had ground floor with a patio, but 2nd floor has a deck! Grounds are awesome w ponds and plants and trails everywhere. Hotels in Sedona are expensive... I feel like it's important to start with that. So obviously this one is expensive too. However, with this price per night I expected a little more. Most of the rooms don't have any view. Rooms are a little lackluster. Pool is nice but small and a little dated. There was a wedding when we were there so the beautiful view you see that's the face of their hotel was closed to all guests except the wedding party, so that was a bummer. Pros: I did like the location. Super close to the hustle and bustle of Sedona. Everything is within a 10 minute drive. Views are beautiful as you were leaving the property. read more

I am a very discerning and highly selective native New Yorker with very picky taste and this is absolutely, across the mark, a wonderful hotel and establishment. The moment you walk onto the property you can feel a special vibe. Our cottage is impeccably clean and the staff is so welcoming and kind. Our room is spacious, the kitchen is functional, the bed is comfortable and the water pressure is excellent. We also appreciate the botanical garden and learning about all the different species of plant life on the property. And the view - the view is absolutely breathtaking. Just magnificent. I loved my stay here. The king size room was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable and they provide a ton of pillows with different levels of soft/firm options. Cable TV offered over 70 channels, and each room has a coffee maker and ample room for storage and getting ready. The grounds are beautiful and the views of the Sedona skyline are remarkable. Easy parking, a front desk that is open 24/7 with fresh cookies, water, tea and coffee. While there is not a restaurant on site, the Mesa Grill is a five minute walk away and they offer 10% off for guests of the Sky Ranch. There is a small hottub that holds six and ia fairly busy, and a pool that is open eight months out of the year. I was very impressed with my stay and will be back if I come to Sedona again. read more

Booked a garden view room with two queen size beds. Fairly small space in comparison to other hotels. Price is a bit steep for what you are getting, however the view from above overlooking the town was breathtaking. Sky ranch has a private terrace to view the sunset - the gate to the terrace was closed during sunrise. No breakfast included which would have been nice even if only continental. The drive from town to the top where the hotel was situated was about 7 minutes. Next to the hotel, there is paid parking ($3) lot for other patrons to park and walk across to see the view of the city. Check-in was a breeze. The front desk staff was friendly and did a great job explaining where the rooms were situated. They still use actually key and lock versus key card which is more convenient to carry around. Overall, Lower your expectation of hotel amenities just take in the amazing view. read more

If I was rating the property alone, this would be a four star review. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! There is a cute patio area where they serve some nice wine, and the bartender was great. One star would have been deducted due to issues with the room. The reason for this score though is directly related to how those issues were handled by the front staff. And honestly, if it wasn't for how beautiful the property was, this would have been a one star. We had a two queen bed room, and one of the beds made this deep sound every time my mom would move at all, so she got very little sleep the first night...she was even tempted to go sleep in her car She brought it up to the front desk the next morning and even asked if they could just bring in a cot for her to sleep on for that night, trying to make things as easy as possible for everyone. They offered to send over maintenance, which they did. The problem appeared to be the box spring so away that went. I went into the office shortly after that to grab a drink from the gift shop, and I couldn't believe it...the girls up front were just sitting there talking about my mom. They didn't know who I was, so they were essentially talking about a guest in front of another guest...even down to our room number! I let my mother know as well so she stopped by the office to ask to speak to a manager to let them know that is not cool. Well one of the girls who was talking about her said she was the manager. So either she was being dishonest because she didn't want the actual manager to know what happened, or the manager of the facility talks about guests like that. I don't know which one is worse. The other issue we had was no cable in the room. We also let them know about that and maintenance was promised. When we returned later from our adventures out in Sedona, the issue was still not fixed. But because of our earlier experience we just said forget it and watched a movie on a laptop. All in all we were disappointed with our stay. My mom comes to Sedona frequently and was hoping this would be her regular place to stay, but based on our experience this weekend, no one from our family will be returning. read more

Madness, Covid, Threats and Grief. I am a frequent traveler, with overnight travel most every month. When I booked my 1-night stay at the Sky Ranch Lodge I was hoping for some peace, quiet and rejuvenation. Instead what I received was madness, threats, probable exposure to Covid, and grief. Sky Ranch Lodge represents the worst America has to offer. The quality is somewhere below the level of Motel 6. It's located high atop a mesa (and right next to the Sedona Airport!) and is the single worst night I've spent in ANY hotel in more than 45 years. The reason the stay was so terrible is simple- the lodge is too cheap to pay for any STAFF to be present after 7:00 PM. They do offer a phone number to call in case of problem or emergency, but if no one answers the phone, or returns calls, that is a real issue and safety concern. A raucous wedding party had booked out several rooms of the lodge, including one right next to mine. Despite asking them nicely and repeatedly to please either keep the loud noise, drug use, and live music to a minimum or move to one of the other rooms that party occupied, my polite requests were ignored. I had two young children in my room trying to sleep, but the wedding party kept up the noise, drugs, and music until after 4:00 AM. There were several vacancies at the property. I attempted to contact the management a dozen time to PLEASE change our room. But no staff would answer the phone or return any of my calls. When staff did return the following morning they had no answers as to why their 24-hour emergency line was not answered by anyone. There was also no offer to make amends, and they did not care about my experience. When I asked to speak to management, I was told that the people at the desk "were the only people available." When I refused to leave without speaking to someone in charge, a woman in her mid 60s or possibly early 70s with dyed blond hair, and a bad attitude appeared. For the purposes of this review, let's call her Karen. I failed to mention that during my stay it was the absolute height of the pandemic, and when "Karen" emerged from a back room she marched around the desk and got within an inch of my face. Naturally, Karen was maskless, and she seemed to take great snarly joy in spraying my face with saliva as she yelled at me to "get off the property, or I am calling the police." Every time I tried to speak, she yelled louder- "get off the property or I am calling the police." So I did just that. I failed to mention the rest of the staff wore masks under their chins, and from what I overheard of their conversations they also were squarely in the anti-vax camp. As far as they were concerned, social distancing was "stupid" and I was contemptible because I was wearing a mask. The business model of the Sky Ranch is quite clear. It's about selling expensive wedding packages. It's really not about serving any non-wedding guest. In the morning I met several other people also unlucky enough to have stayed the night. 2 of whom informed me that they would never be staying at that lodge again. They also had called the "emergency" phone without a response. One other guest told me about the surprise they received at 6:30 AM, construction workers right outside their window. The workers were using hammers and power tools. When they asked the workers to stop, the workers told them "If we stop working we won't get paid." Yes there is a nice view, but you can get exact same view for free from a vista point, 50' before the driveway of the lodge. Given the option I would choose sleeping in a Wal-Mart parking lot instead of spending another night at Sky Ranch Lodge. read more
