Great location, flat out. The COLDEST, most unforgiving shower I've had outside of boot camp. You…read morecan't control the water temperature at all, and if you try to let it run to warm up, well, too bad for you because after ten minutes all you're getting is cold water, period. Around $35 a night, so I suppose you get what you pay for. They provide sheets, one duvet, and a towel. If you do not bring your own blanket in the winter/fall months, you WILL be cold. My nose is bright as Rudolph's as I type out this review. It's really brutal. What you gain in location, you lose in basic comfort. The kitchen is a nice feature, assuming no one steals the food you bring in. Hashtag Hostel Lyfe.

Never never come here. I didn't stay here but I had an encounter with the owner while at the…read morerestaurant outdoors. I think what happened was the restaurant accidentally had some times near the front of his store, and the owner went insane. He stormed into the restaurant screaming like someone died, barged in on the couple enjoying dinner at the tables by his hostel and took away the tables, and ferociously screamed at the staff in the restaurant. The waitress was very nice and went to take the tables away as quietly as possible. My friend went to help her. The owner saw my friend, a male, help the waitress and exclaim "Are you helping a woman? You know what they call people like you? Manginas. Look it up," along with a parade of other harassments. If he treats other people like this, it speaks volumes about how he treats his customers. No way should anyone give this man business.

Such a great hostel! Staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and doesn't look run down…read more The common area was also very nice. They provide free breakfast in the morning, which is a nice plus. Great location that is quiet but walkable to all the popular areas. Would love to stay here again in the future.

STRICT 3PM CHECK IN POLICY. A friend of mine decided to stay an extra night which required her to…read moremove rooms. And in order to do so, she had to check out at 11 am and re-check in at 3pm. That was a bit absurd to me. If you arrive before the check in time you can still leave your bags in a locked closet. Bring a lock for extra security and lock your valuables in a locker. If you need to sleep for a bit (like I did) there are plenty of lounge chairs. Other than that, I had a great stay at this hostel and would probably stay again (but make sure that my arrival time is at least close to the check in time). The hostel is well situated in the heart of the city. Everything was a 10-15 minute walk. Unlike some of the reviews of the other hostels I read, the location did not feel unsafe or sketchy at all, which is extremely important to me considering I am a female that was traveling alone. The rooms were very clean! I stayed in a 6 female room and it came with 2 showers and a toilet separate from the showers. I arrived at 7 am for the continental breakfast which in my opinion was subpar. They served bread, scrambled eggs, cereals and fruits. I was rushing out to my flight so I did not get a chance to throughly scan the breakfast area, but I believe this was the bulk of what they offered. I have to say overall, I slept well!

They don't make it very clear that if you book the Grand Palace hostel (the 2nd one in their chain)…read moreyou check-in at a completely different place and the Grand Palace Hostel is NOT staffed by anyone. I had the misfortune for whatever reason to have the receptionist not give me a key when I correctly checked in at the correct hostel location. I think got to the Grand Palace location where you need a key card to get in, which I was not given. I called and then the receptionist started blaming me when I had clearly asked "is check in complete" when I was there. It was very off putting to hve a someone new to rude to me when I clearly asked if I was good to go to the other location. It was a very terrible first impression because I had to walk 15minutes with my 20lb backpack only to find out I couldn't get in. Luckily some people let me in and my roommate was there so I could put my luggage down before having to walk all the way back because they offered no other solution. Really wish my trip hadn't started off this way and the receptionist would have been more apologetic. I get it if people are difficult but I was just trying to get in and I was clearly upset. Don't take it out on a 21 yr old college student just trying their best when traveling alone by itself is hard enough. I don't know if it was because of my nationality that this happened because a girl checked in right before me perfectly fine and was given a key card but come on I'm sorry if you hate certain countries but give people a chance. When I went back to get the card it wasn't even ready so clearly she hadn't done it when I originally checked in. Overall the hostel seems okay though. Good location. Just not pleased with how I was treated.

The Good: Cheap quality hostel with a lovely communal area,…read morefree internet use, and helpful staff. Toilets, showers, and the kitchen are clean. It is close to attractions and shops, making it extremely convenient. The Bad: 1. Our dorm was situated on the fourth floor, which is essentially the attic. The ceiling was very low, making it incredibly hot. It was 25 degrees and boiling and the air conditioning did not work. We asked for the manager to take a look at the air conditioning unit, but nobody came. The window was miserably small and would not stay open. 2. Again, I am basing my review on our dorm. The top bunk of the bed was literally unusable. There is hardly any space to roll around, and the ceiling was too close to your face. Really, I was surprised they even let anyone use that space. 3. We were expecting the communal and reception areas to open longer, if not 24 hours. We returned a little past midnight with bags of kebabs to eat at the dining table, but were disappointed to find it closed. 4. Reception not manned 24 hours. There was just this sheet of A4 paper stuck to the door stating that guests would need to inform staff should they wish to check out earlier than 7:30am. A group of American youths were unlucky enough to miss the notice, and had to wait for the reception to open. Bottom line: From my experience and my experience alone, 2GO4 is a two-star establishment. I believe if we had been allocated a dorm on a different level, our stay would have been a lot more comfortable, hence more stars.
