While we had no particular expectations when we came to you, nor truly any knowledge of taekwondo values, you have given us more than we could have ever hoped for. We have known you for over 5 years now and are still in awe of your daily dedication, guidance and support. Your impact on Michael and our family as a whole is undeniable and deeply valued. It is so empowering to have you support us in raising Michael to be a better person. While you are teaching him, we, as parents, are growing as well. We gained new perspective, motivation and understanding of discipline. Both of you are amazing role models for your students, because "you practice what you preach" physically, mentally and spiritually. I am so thankful that Michael has the opportunity to be around you. The discipline, respect and sense of responsibility you instill in your students travel far beyond your doors. We watch Michael apply what he learned at K-Zone at home, school and everywhere else. You are teaching him so many important lifelong lessons, always kind with praise and firm and patient when needed. It is touching to watch you turn every bump Michael encounters into a valuable experience to reflect upon. Your approach of building Michael up, not tearing him down, has done wonders in giving him confidence to achieve goals he'd have likely given up on and teaching him how to treat others. Thank you for helping us to shape our boy into a soon-to-be young man with healthy body, strong moral compass and self-motivated character. I hope that you know how enormous your influence is on those around you and onto this world and how deeply we treasure K-Zone Taekwondo and its family.

Iwas very surprised with the reviews of this place, so I went in to introduce myself and to get a feel of the place. Upon entering I was welcomed by the instructors. They were very friendly and addressed everything that was to be expected. They had a packet ready for my review just in case I forgotten everything they covered. I was very pleased with all the information that was given and was left with a great impression that this would a wonderful location. The instructors are very fair, they do not test your child if you're child is not ready. I love the fact that they do that because tae kwon do is about discipline and earning belts and stripes. They should never be given. Parents need to learn responsibility and understand and educate their children on good behavior. This place take grades, attitude, home responsibilities into count. They know who has been practicing and who is lacking in areas. They determine rewards based on graded forms turned in by parents. I really enjoy this place and I recommend this place to anyone.

Please read the entire contract and ask questions directly to the company over the contract. I relocated from Woodbridge, VA to Upper Marlboro, MD on June 1, 2021, in which my son attending Taekwondo in Woodbridge, VA was a no go. I called on June 8, 2021 to cancel the contract was told by the Accounts Manager that I had to provide documents showing I moved, but the organization would not accept what I offered. I am beyond pissed and want a refund for the months they charged me. A contract is a legally binding document and all terms have to be explained in a thorough manner. The Accounts Manager was also very rude during the initial conversation, but the last conversation We had today, she tried to act like she didn't remember me, despite having a log of our previous conversation. Master Nam is a nice man, but the organization he works for is doing shady business. I would provide more context, but I will save it for another time if necessary. I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED!

Master Nam is awesome. Our son struggles with paying attention to any 1 action item. When he is…read morefocused, he is on point. The trick is keeping his focus on any one thing at a time. Some of this I attribute to him simply being a precocious 8-year old, and the other is just his lack of attention to any one thing at any one time. When my wife and I decided to put him into Taekwondo, he was only 4 years old. While he ebbs and flows with how he takes in basic movement, form and instructions, there is no doubt that the lessons are working on him overall in a good way. In spirit, in physical fitness, discipline and most importantly, in confidence. He truly has come a long way. Master Nam's approach is well suited to teaching the students at this Dojang and our son has definitely benefited from it. Has our son struggled from time to time? Yes he has. Our son is very expressive and wears his emotions on his sleeve. He gets frustrated easily and will start to cry when he's instructed to do push ups, but he's been better at holding the tears back more recently. When I told him that I had to do pushups when I was in the Army, I told him while it may look like punishment, it was simply to make me refocus my attention. It wasn't personal even though at times it came across to me like it was personal. So he shouldn't take it personally when Master Nam makes him do push ups. The push up is just a direct result to your coming up short in something and rededicates your focus on that one thing so that you do it right the next time. All this to say, when our son messes up a form, or basic movement or he is not paying attention and he's told to do a push up, the act itself isn't what frustrates him. It's that he did something wrong that made the master inform him to do a push up. He does push ups all the time at home so it's not hard for him to do it. This dedication to discipline is to build up confidence. This is important for a youngster growing up into a very unforgiving world. To start these teachings off early will go a long way for our son as he navigates through life. Master Nam is instilling all of these positive qualities into our son and the other students in ways that will pay huge dividends going into life. And along the way, they are learning an incredible skill set. Thank you so very much Master Nam.

The dojang has a community feeling, and all of the staff are well trained and work very well with all ages. My daughter is 11, but I've seen students excel and have fun with TKD here as young as 2.5 yr and all the way into adulthood. No age is too old to begin taking Tae Kwondo, as it really is a beautiful practice and discipline. Master Yi is both firm with her students and fun with them - appropriately so based upon the need of the situation. She has events at the dojang to bring the families together, has a demonstration team who practice hard and always impress the crowd, and also has a team of practitioners who compete the local competition circuit. This was the first dojang that we tried and I'm very happy that this was the one we selected. It has the right balance of competitiveness and fun, of discipline and mindfulness - to suit my daughter's needs.
