Very mediocre Chinese food for absolutely ridiculous prices. The service here was also very bad.

Yes, a typical Chinese Buffet with a grand selection of food available from starter to pudding. As…read morealways eyes bigger than belly but if you starve yourself all day it's worth the £16 for Experience, especially if you don't have a preference of what type of meal you want. To me these places are spoilt by greedy people who waste more than they eat. In the main this is a good place, plates cleared away pretty quickly as you eat. Remember to keep you knife & fork!. The diet starts tomorrow!

I'll have to admit that buffets are not my favourites but one particular friend loves buffets. I…read moreguess it is cheap and cheerful, you don't have to wait for food and you get to have whatever you want and however much you want. As far as buffets go, this is the fanciest I've seen. It's also an Asian-fusion style buffet that also serves on-demand grilled food, sushi, dim sum, fresh salad and pizza. The menu is adjusted slightly from day to day and time but you can always guarantee the staples you expect from a Chinese buffet. Most importantly, there is a large range of dessert all separated into small, cute containers so you can have a bit of everything from jelly to cake to ice-cream and fruit! The price is decent for the buffet and a drink, the customer service is average and there's cubicles for larger parties and plenty of seating. It does get busy and noisy though. Access on street level and a part of intu Eldon Square, this is a popular and easy to get to choice for lunch and dinner.

Nice interior, warm service but we were a bit rushed. Drink menu was a little sticky which made me…read moresceptical about this place. We ordered 2 dishes from Shanghai part of menu, a Thai soup and a Malay dish. I do have to say, both Shanghai dishes were spot on!! Very homey taste and authentic. However it's a shame I couldn't say the same for the Thai soup or the Malay dish. Also quite expensive place when the bill came.

The bar is downstairs as soon as you walk through the door, with nice seating and great surroundings. If you are going to the restaurant, you will be led up stairs, and through what looks like a catwalk (lights under foot, and beads hanging down from light fittings) Not sure what all these bad comments are about, as its like I've been in a completely different restaurant/bar to everyone else. I wouldn't be lying if I would say i have been here 10 or more times this year with family and friends. Yes drinks are a tad expensive, but its a nice posh restaurant, and the drinks are priced about the same around that area anyway. Service has always been great (I have to admit some of the staff do not understand great English, but we always got the correct orders) The Chicken Satay is to die for, I always get this as a Starter. We have spent lots of hours and money here, and cannot really think of anything bad to say about the place.

The building has always been impressive with three floors and raised seating the owner has outdone himself with huge trees and twinkling fairy lights. The food and drinks menu has been well thought out, clear and concise its not huge but I like the idea that they have picked a few dishes that they will do very well! The service in here started off a little on the shaky side having seated someone else in our seats we were a bit unnerved to see them move people for the the last booth in the raised area. Although it was explained those seating areas were for food only and the people who were moved were only having drinks... Moving swiftly on we were talked through the menu on what was a suitable amount for starter and main etc. We ordered a selection of starters to share; the prawn dynamite sushi was tasty although reading the menu you would think you get a selection of the six offered you do have to choose one as it is handmade to order - nice touch! Next was the spring rolls with duck which were very good with more flavour than your ordinary vegetable variety! My favourite was the pork and prawn dim sum -arriving in a basket to keep them warm they were amazing! Cooked to perfection the rice paper was thin and the pork went so well with the fish. Served with a very hot chilli dip it gave it the kick it needed! Next was the tricky decision between the thai red curry or the monkfish. On recommendation I went for the monkfish (which isn't explained on the menu in detail but is in fact small bites of fish breaded!) served with rice or chips. The curry sauce dip on the side was refreshing and light and the sticky rice came served in the lotus leaf -again a nice touch! I wouldn't normally have went for a fish dish but the waitress had excellent knowledge of the menu which I liked! We finished the meal off with some coconut ice cream and some sake - again something I hadn't tried. Served in a jug and warmed through it was good - definitely worth giving it a go! With one final cocktail for the road - the Guava Royale is one I would recommend I will definately be coming back to try my thai curry! 5* for service - from drinks to food tips and a great atmosphere for a relaxed evening out!
