Great customer service, have to sign waivers of course and the prices weren't that bad. Adults and kids ride separately at different time, and the adults go karts are very fast. For kids, they need to be 39" or above, my son is 4 and this was his first time riding in a go karts let alone drive one himself. I was nervous and explained to the worker this would be his first. The young man was polite and help explain to my son how to work the go karts. The "mini karts" go at a different speed which put me at easy, and my wife and I were so happy seeing our son driving on his own. The arcade was great, lots of fun games. We got a ninja warrior package and it's really nice but my son didn't care for it. The mini bowling was great for all ages, and there's ax throwing! We ate before we got there so we didn't try out the food. The place was clean and had more to offer, so we will be coming back. Great family outing, a great way to stay cool while having fun.

**OVERALL REVIEW**…read more Last year when my friends and I went on the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, Museums, and Launchpads Tour, Sands Space History Center - which I will shorthand simply to "Sands" for the remainder of this review - was supposed to be the first location on said tour. Unfortunately at the time, Sands was closed for renovation. Now many months later, I get the chance to return to Sands to see what I missed. For a history museum that is free to the public, this is one of the better space museums to check out. I will be the one to admit the amount of displays of actual artifacts and periphenalia from space history is "limited" compared to other museums in the area, but it surely delivers on history. If you like to read, learning the history of a particular set of NASA and space history, which I will explain further in the review, as well as enjoy a live presentation and Q&A with current astronaunts, Sands is definitely the museum worth going to. Did I mention Sands is free to the public? Though an address is provided, it is best to detail how to get to Sands as you'll be exiting from SR-528 onto the road leading to the private military base. This is correct, and you'll almost drive up to the military base gate, but instead you'll be turning into the last public section which happens to be where Sands is. The Navajo Rocket should be a giveaway as where to turn. Upon arriving at a trio of buildings, the updated Sands is a blue building with a mural of an astronaut on it. Entering the double doors, you'll first be in the lobby where the front service desk and restrooms are. There are plenty of pamphlets detailing what you'll see in Sands as well as many other museums, not just in the space industry, but along the Space Coast. The restrooms are also located here. There are two parts about Sands that need to be detailed. The first is the "museum display" part located along the walls. Sands concentrates on the 41 launch complexes (LC) that NASA used starting with, of course, LC-1 and 2. LC-1 is the oldest complex in which it launched the very first shuttles and rockets. Going clockwise around the wall, the latter LCs will have information on how they contributed to the space industry such as what shuttles and/or rockets they launched. Some even have artifacts to view, too, as their tags explain their relationship to the LC. As mentioned earlier, there are 41 LCs and they have information spanning all four walls of the large assembly-like room. Speaking of assembly, the middle of the room is setup like an auditorium with chairs lined into rows. At times, astronauts and other imporant space figures will come by and speak, sometimes giving a more personal hands-on insight to past LC events or telling stories of their own adventues during their active tenure. Finally, there is a small gift shop on the southside of the building. It has numerous souvenirs for patrons to buy such as stickers, magnets, clothing, puzzles, and more. This is actually a lot, and I mean A LOT, for a museum that doesn't cost anything to enter to provide. On a sidenote, Sands is also part of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and Space Tour, primarily as the first and last stops of said tour. And for the kids, there is a scavenger hunt they can partake in, or if they want a more dynamic approach on learning, there is a touchscreen kiosk complete with interactive displays to even keep kids with ADD and/or ADHD entertained. Ultimately, I am giving Sands a perfect five-out-of-five star rating for its review. Just so much to learn, so much to experience, and all for free, I am definitely recommending Sands to anyone who asks about it.

The volunteer there that led our tour was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the space program. it turns out he and I grew up three years apart and not too many miles apart. we reminisced over when Ron Jon's was a small little bikini shop in Cocoa Beach. ( if you don't know it, it covers three city blocks now.) They had a scavenger hunt for the kids, and they were happy to explain all of the memorabilia in the small, but authentic history center. This is a must see for the old timers; I consider myself one of them since I grew up in the 60s with my dad involved at the Cape. I'm not sure if this center would have much meaning to the younger kids, but we enjoyed it immensely. Even my son and his early 40s thought it was amazing. and it's free :-)

The walls are hues of yellows and blues that come from a JC Penny catalog circa 1990. The skate floor is a faded blue, and the sound of clanking roller skates fills the area only to be drowned out by the blasting music of contemporary pop hits. The sounds clash between yesterday and today. There are a few phone screens that glow underneath hand-drawn cartoon characters. But that's the charm. Galaxy Skateway doesn't pretend to be something new. It embraces what it is, a time capsule of what life was like. Going to the snack bar, you're greeted with a menu board with plastic blue letters, and you get a discount when you pay with cash. When my daughters walked into the skate rink, one thing that stood out was how many people were just... skating. People weren't on the sidelines looking at screens. All that was there was a DJ and simple skating games like Four Corners and Stoplight. Cliché songs from the 90s like "The Macarena" played as people rolleed past, all under the flashing neon lights. To me, it was a piece of nostalgia for a time long since gone. It doesn't have updated features and the building looks straight out of the 90s, but that's the point. You don't go to Galaxy Skateway to experience the 21st century. You go there to experience what life was like before Steve Jobs walked out on stage with his iPhone.

Visiting this place was definitely a dream come true. This place is very educational and inspirational. There's so much to do, and see. There are different rooms and exhibitions even an outdoor garden. There's also a movie theater, and a live presentation. I have to say my favorite room is the Atlantis where they have the Space Shuttle "Atlantis" exhibited. Prices go from $60 to $120 which is not bad compared to the other parks around Florida. Only reason why I don't give this place 5 stars is the cafe. The food and service here was completely mediocre. I had shrimp tacos and each taco had literally 2 single shrimp each. TF!!! Everyone who had burgers, chicken or fish fingers also complained about the food being bad and it was very very pricey. So I definitely don't recommend eating here. Maybe bring some snacks and get some food after you finish. Other than that, great place for kids and adults.

For the complex, there is plenty of parking. Once you pass through the security checkpoint, this structure is the first one on your left. I have passed by this structure many times and only recently decided to visit it again. I am glad that I gave it another try. It was wonderful. You enter through the second floor up a ramp and into a round vestibule. The room holds an entertaining preshow with items like the robot from the original lost in space and other memorabilia. Then you enter a standing theater that shows the Heroes and legends show. After this people are directed toward a series of hands-on displays showing various early NASA rocketry memorabilia displayed in different methods. I found it fascinating and engaging. Following that there is a nice tribute to the various astronauts honored by being inducted into the Hall of Fame. There is a fascinating photo opportunity where you can choose an astronaut and their picture is displayed on the wall and you can get your picture taken with them. Overall, It is a very nicely done tribute to the brave souls that made our current space flight possible. Well done!
