I grew up singing in church but have never had formal lessons, so as an adult, I decided to invest in voice and learn proper technique. Michael challenges me in the best ways possible to push me in stretching my abilities and making sure I understand each concept along the way. The improvements I've seen in my voice in just a few months are beyond what I expected, and I feel more confident both in and outside of lessons. I can't recommend Michael enough to anyone looking for a teacher who is not only highly skilled, but also passionate about helping their students grow.

She talks the talk and walks the walk. Deanna has changed my life in more ways than just healing my vocal damage, improving & learn new vocal techniques and pushing beyond what I thought were my limits; she's also directed me into the paths I need for my music, getting gigs, and getting my first local performance venue! Not to mention helped re-assert my confidence & meet new artists. Its only been a year if that! And things are picking up, FAST! I don't have many photos but nonetheless it's been epic. Her other students are wonderful and it's nice to be part of a program with like-minds and watch us all grow Tough-love and challenge is what i needed to continue doing music after graduating from LVA & going on a music career hiatus after performing in so many venues with the choir & jazz. Deanna is quick to keep me & all her students on their toes, but you've got to want it! She's here to help you get in the car & learn to drive but it's up to you to actually go on that journey. You won't find a better coach, trust me. For $400 he glued the neck where it was starting to split and dressed the frets. I got the bass back and the action wasn't set tight. The strings were too high. I turned the truss rod, and the neck split apart. I took it back to him, and I asked him to remove the neck. Then I found a neck for it and asked him to glue it on for me. He refused and closed his business. I'm out $400, and I have to find someone else to do his work for him. What a waste of time and money working with this guy. He lied to me every chance he could, just like all the rest of the music business people in Southern Nevada.

I met with Don to have some repair work done on my Starfire III. I left the guitar with him on…read moreAugust 23, and agreed to the two month turn-around that he indicated was needed as he was severely backed-up. I contacted Don via text on October 15 just to check the status of the work. His reply was simply, "Starting on it next week." I initiated contact once again on November 4 and was told "I'm starting on it tomorrow." As a result, I picked up my guitar that day and decided to go elsewhere. So, why three stars... I have no doubt that Don is a very capable luthier. The problems are simply centered around the lack of communication on his part regarding progress, or lack thereof. I was told two months. At the two month mark, I was told next week. Nearly three weeks after that I was told tomorrow. As a new customer, how am I supposed to feel? When I picked up the guitar he stated, "I told you it would be several months." The truth is he said two months. Communication is everything. This is especially true when one is dealing with a new client. I have entrusted this person with an instrument that has been a part of my life for nearly three decades. An other reviewer mentioned the condition of his shop. Trust me, I had reservations when I saw the condition. I wondered how he could complete any work in that space, but after talking with him I felt confident that he could do good work. A simple text stating, hey, this is taking a bit longer than expected...,or hey, just wanted to update you on status of the instrument is all that was needed to put my mind at ease.

From start to finish I noticed that the workbench he uses isn't clean (wood debris/nails/), the way he handled my guitar wasn't careful and in the end I leave the place with damage on my guitar. Now granted this is a satin finish guitar and is susceptible to dings etc but a professional should ALWAYS be careful and respectful to an instrument. He was at best rushing the work. I'm leaving this review to either prevent this from happening to other guitars or to make sure you tell don to be careful and handle your guitar with respect. I reached out to him about my concerns and he says he can't see the dings. At that point all I could tell him was to respect himself and the good integrity and good will he's built up with his customers because these things go a long way. I hope I saved someone from experiencing what I've experienced. My advice? Look elsewhere.
