When I went there I had the time of my life looking at the squirrels and birds on the sidewalks. If I ever get the chance to go there and teach or be the principal I would embrace rules (ex. no phones during class unless conversing with a parent or guardian or no violence, drugs, tobacco, smoking, etc.) unlike rules as in (no phones on sidewalks or no hoodies of sunglasses inside). I love that it is smaller than other centers and has a more close-knit feel. The new playground for toddlers & 2's is lovely with a shaded cover and no mulch. There's a large multipurpose room that they use like an indoor gym when the weather is poor. There was a lot of staff turnover the past 1-2 years, but they are now in a good groove and all seem to work well as a team.

The final straw for me is that I know for a fact my baby was miserable during the time she was there. She was 4mo so very often being strapped into a chair and she will get anxious and cry and because nobody will pick her up therefore she will start scratch her face or legs until see blood. I am very anger and sad to see all new marks on her on a daily basis that I transferred her to other daycare in a very short amount of time.

The rates are about the same all the other centers in the area and they provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Johnson E.S. is a Title 1 school in Henrico County and has a high Spanish speaking population. The teachers work hard at what they do. When my wife was the Family Advocate, I got to see this first hand. Very passionate in what they do.
