I started reading up on "Permanent Makeup" with the hope I could find a good artist to help restore my brows with a "natural look". That is when I stumbled upon Kelly's Totally Cool Makeup site. I went in for my consultation feeling nervous--after all, I had never even had a tattoo placed in a hidden spot much less had permanent makeup etched into my face! Once I sat down, explained to Kelly what I was looking for in my brows and she carefully listened, I realized I had found the right "artist". Like an artist, she measured my face, helped me select colors, she spoke to me about shape of my brow and she even PAINTED on the color and shape so I could make the final choice of shape on my own; I appreciated this as it gave me the visual I needed to feel confident that I would end up with what I wanted. I started with a more conservative approach..a lighter color and not as thick at first. I went in 4 weeks later for my "touch up (included in the price) and Kelly added dimension with a deeper color. I loved it. Since that time, two years ago, I went in again recently to add color, dimension and shape. Now at 50, my brows are more beautiful than ever! I am an athlete and fitness instructor who walks around most often with no make up--I run, swim and sweat a lot! And still, most people have NO IDEA my brows are "permanent makeup". I truly recommend Kelly--she has helped me to put my best face forward!

She cancelled the first appointment we set up because of something that came up with her son. No problem. When another appointment was set and I got to her salon, she became brisk with me when she saw that what I really needed was a fix to previously tattooed brows that were done with ink that she said was the wrong kind. Since there were no qualifiers to the contest, I had no idea that I would be a problem. At that point, she acted like she wouldn't honor the "free" element to this deal and I told her I was willing to pay for the extra it would take for her to fix my brows. Her work was good but after the initial appointment where she attempted to lift some of the bad color (which I paid her to do), I went in for a second appointment to get the brows colored. Again, I paid her something for doing that. I needed a third appointment (which she indicated I needed) but she no longer returned my calls when I was attempting to set something up. The whole experience left me wondering how she manages to stay in business. She could use a lesson or two in how to treat people.

She's done lash extensions and lash tints for me, as well as microblading and permanent makeup. She did my brows and permanent eye liner about two years ago and they are flawless. She is very detail oriented and makes sure everything is just right (and also numb!) before she starts. I have very light hair and fair skin and the brows and liner are perfect. They look completely natural, even when I'm not wearing any other makeup. I came to her Geneva location to get my annual touch up. As always - she took her time and made sure my brows and eye liner were perfect. The Geneva location is lovely - relaxing and clean and in a great spot in the downtown area. Parking was easy and there's a great coffee shop next door.

Immediately after, I knew I would have to get mine tattoo/tinted because how good it looked. I was very hesitant on where to go because this is permanent, and its on my face.. FINALLY after looking for the right person, I found Robyn at Ink & Arch, and I am SO glad I did. Robyns work is so beyond what this review can describe. From the moment I walked into her studio I felt like I made the right decision. She took her time penciling out my lip line before she got started tattooing. The lining was clean and accurate, she checked in with me the whole time to make sure how I felt about it. She did great penciling out my lips so I trusted her to proceed. We looked at colors, which she has very many of and I chose a pinkish/light red color (mixed two colors together) After the tattoo processing began, I was nervous naturally and of course it hurt just a bit but this is all expected. Robyn checked on me throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was ok! Upon completion, Robyn pulled up a mirror to my lips, I was in complete shock-- I absolutely LOVED my lips, the lining was FLAWLESS. I honestly couldn't believe how great my lips looked. The best feeling is waking up in the morning and looking lively because of my lips. I have received tons of compliments on my lips, sometimes I want to play it off like its my natural lip but I cannot because that means I wouldn't be able to rave about Robyn work. I drove from the city to the office in St. Charles fairly quickly, it was easy to find and the suite itself is spotless and adorable. Prior to my appointment she asked me for my "inspiration" color. I brought it and she delivered, the shade she blended was exactly what I asked for. Cori took her time and made sure I fully understood the procedure from top-to-bottom.
