Duh it's not a private spa. They say that on the website where you book the appointment. I personally found people's background conversations calming as background noise and I liked the ease of just being able to pop in to get my facial and go. 2. They don't push products or services on you. At least not in my experience. When I booked, it asked if I wanted to consider any add-ons and I marked yes. During my session, my esthetician suggested one and we tried it. At the end of my session, my esthetician recommended two products and emailed them to me so I could decide later. They were specific to my needs and what I told her were my struggles. At check out, I was asked if I would consider a membership or booking ahead, but no one was pushy or made me feel uncomfortable. I felt super comfortable there the entire time! 3. Some yelp reviewers said they experienced break outs after. You take a risk of break outs with any treatment you try and it's why dermatologists warn people before getting a facial. I don't have very sensitive skin so I had no particular concerns. You can always ask them to not go as wild during the extractions. My experience: 1. I found my esthetician to be efficient, courteous, and attentive. I love the service she provided and I walked out of this facial more relaxed than I've walked out of full-body massages. 2. I didn't love the nano wand infusion and would probably skip it the next time I go. If you have the budget for it, try it, but I didn't feel much of a difference. 3. For any facial newbies, blow your nose before lol. Aside from some redness on where I had especially tricky extractions, my skin came out soothed and ready for the week at hand. Definitely check this spot out: check in and check out were efficient and they make sure to get you in and out per your schedule. :)

You can take the stairs up to the second floor and ring the doorbell or take the elevator. There was a sign on the door when I walked up that said if they don't answer the door, take the elevator. They opened for me. Changed into slippers, confirmed my Groupon, asked if I'd like water or to use the restroom, then was shown to my room for the facial. The friendly staffed explained what I needed to change into then exited the room for my privacy. She came back a couple minutes later to get started. But first, she added an extra blanket and adjusted my leg rest for comfort. Oh, and there was a heating mat on the bed. It felt amazing!! She explained what was going to be done, checked if there was any adjustment needed, and was attentive to my movements. The extraction was not as painful as I was expecting which was great! The massage was so relaxing I wish I could get one daily. The mask was cold and refreshing. She left the room for a while during the mask part. I was so comfortable I was about to fall asleep. Valerie was trained by Anastasia Beverly Hills, which is why I began going to her (I was previously driving over an hour just to get my brows done at an Anastasia salon), and I've continued coming to her for the last few years because of the amazing job she does. She used to be located at a high end local tanning salon, but since Fall 2016 has been operating independently in her own spot in downtown Center City Philadelphia. It is a bit pricer ($30) than just getting your eyebrows done at your local nail salon, but I promise you it is so worth it! Your eyebrows are shaped in proportion to your eyes & nose, all while relaxing on a salon table. Valerie even uses a magnifier to ensure she does a precise job. You can pay via cash or credit.
