I highly recommend Skin City, especially Darren!!! He is extremely professional especially from my experience meeting him. My friend got a double cartilage piercing from a place called Graceland about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the last few days the piercing grew more and more inflamed and today she was in excruciating pain. Her ear was throbbing, so red that it was almost purple, crusty, and extremely enlarged. However we did our research and heard great things about Skin City. Upon arrival at this tattoo parlor we were greeted by Darren and he was eager to help her with her inflamed ear. He was determined to help her get the piercing out (free of charge) to relieve her pain and prevent her from a trip to the hospital. He is so friendly and helpful and has so much knowledge about piercings and tattoos. It was a pleasure meeting him, and he made her painful experience a lot better. I had an old tattoo on my ankle that I wanted to cover up from years ago but didn't know where to go. I spent a couple of months researching tattoo artists in the Hudson Valley NY and further away in NJ and NYC. I came across Rob from Skin City's work on instagram (#skincitybob) and was really impressed. His style matched what I was looking for so I went to the shop and made an appointment with him. He was very professional and took the time to listen to my ideas and concerns. He did an amazing realistic floral piece on my ankle to cover up my old tattoo. I then got a shoulder tattoo and am now almost finished with a large back piece. I've had about a dozen sessions with Rob since last year and have referred a few friends and my husband to him for tattoos. Rob is creative and experienced and his work is superb. People stop me on the street all the time and what to know where and who did my tattoos. I'd give him 10 stars if I could. read more

As a customer of Skin City for the past ten years, I don't have enough good things to say about the shop. Tony, Rob, Jay and the rest of the crew are all incredible. Some of the best times I've had have been in that shop, and the best tattoos I have are from there. I'm constantly being stopped and asked about the work I have done. I've sent countless people to Skin City, when asked for shop recommendations, and everyone in my family gets tattooed there. Rob and I have worked together for years, coming up with concepts and sharing ideas, and the tattoos he's done for me are incredible. Skin city is the only place to go! I've gotten all of my work done by Rob at skin city( 70+ hours). He's always completely professional, a total gentlemen, and I've never had any bad experiences at the shoppe, the whole staff is super friendly and a generally jovial bunch! As for Van B.'s review, its just silly. why not just leave a message for him regarding your appointment or deposit, or find out what days he works? I've left messages for him many times via phone and in person, and always have gotten a timely response. Its unreasonable to think that someone is going to fork over a $40 deposit after a year and a half of you not contacting them directly. If you want super solid, clean work, there is no better place than skin city. read more

Great shop with great artists. I was tattooed by Rob recently and I have to say that he is a consummate professional when it comes to his work. I could not be happier with the tattoo I recieved. I'm unsure how they do things down in Tennessee, but if you give someone a security deposit for a tattoo, and you don't follow up on your own tattoo concept with the artist for a year, you forfeit that deposit. I can't see how Van B. has a valid argument for giving such a low score to one of the finer tattoo shops in the area. Her story holds no merit. Skin City is a very reputable shop with very talented artists. But I guess as far as banks are considered, they aren't a good one of those, nor do they claim to be. read more

I recommend this place to EVERYBODY, especially seeing Darren!! I went to a place called Graceland for a double cartilage piercing, cleaning it every day routinely and it ended up getting extremely swollen and I was in excruciating pain. I went to Skin City because they had amazing reviews, and I really did luck out. Darren immediately took me and helped remove my piercing. He was SO professional and friendly and made the painful experience so much better. Darren took my piercing out free of charge and was absolutely great! I live in CT and I'm still willing to drive all the way to Skin City in New Windsor to get tattooed there. Rob has been tattooing me for years now but all of the guys there are awesome and they all bring different styles to the table so there is a lot of talent to choose from. I always have people coming up to me telling me how much they love my tattoos and asking where I get them done. The shop is clean and the guys are super nice and respectful. Just had my nose pierced there. Piercer was talkative, professional, and made me feel super comfortable. All his tools looked very clean and somewhat organized. It was $50 plus tip which was a pretty good price. They only took cash though but there's an ATM at the gas station next door so that was fine. My piercing looks pretty great! Thanks.
