I had mistakenly switched the shoe size on the rental form for a couple members of my group, which was a mistake I had apologized to the staff for. In return, this staff member called me "annoying" and "the worst customer he had that day." These are exact quotes. What could have been a smooth experience instead left a sour taste in my mouth that reeked of unprofessionalism and disrespect. With other rental shops nearby offering similar services, I will not be returning here.

Ever drive 2-3hours to go skiing AND FORGOT YOUR SKI BOOTS. Yup this happened to someone in our…read moreski group. We ran into blue mountain, thinking- no big deal go to blue mountain, get a boot rental, shave off 20% with the ikon pass and we're good to go- No! So Blue Mountain only rents out ski and boot sets for what they say is liability reasons. A rental at $80-90 with $20% is still a sizeable amount of change. So I looked up Mountain Side Sports as most mountain destination have some offsite rental places- a little drive, requires coordinating to pick up in advance and drop off before you leave town. So I saw their rental boots only $30. So my bootlegs group member stopped in and explained he brought his skis and forgot his boots. The shop was very nice to explain the boot may require adjustment to the skis- and then when you do go back to your original boots at home- you would have to get it adjusted again. Realizing the struggles- they were so nice to just offer the rental for $30 for the set- for convenience. That honestly was so nice. I look forward to directing rental equipment peeps to this place. It's honestly easier to rent offsite, pull on your ski or snowboard boots and leave your shoes in the car- rather than wasting money on a locker rental or doing the twice trip to the car at the start of the rental and at the end- and if you know blue mountain- parking isn't easy- non Subaru drivers don't respect the Subaru exclusive spots :/. Great service will visit again! I'm so excited to post this review because the reviews online are really dated on the Yelp page- happy skiing friends!

The store stand behind their products and their techs always took time to help me with any mechanical issues with my bike, helped me understand the bike language and assisted with dialing my bike in for the best setup for me while racing and always made sure my bike was ready for my next race. Little Ed's also impressed me with their involvement in the community through sponsoring or taking apart in a variety of community/environmental fund raising events, free skill development programs and group rides for all abilities and experience levels. This is why I will continue to shop at Little Ed's in the future. Also they do skate sharpening with the fastest turn around time in the area.

Tldr- sent me a board with a chip on the top sheet , was offered a replacement, they took days to…read moreanswer regarding shipping delays , owner was rude in reply and ignored both solutions i had offered , being a discount or for them to cover rush shipping both ways to have the new board arrive before a planned trip . I'm left having to use a damaged board or to pay a rental fee while I send this one away for an exchange that won't arrive in time ... Super good experience right ?! Get ready for a long read , below is the full review if you wanted more details. Be aware this situation is tougher because of the current status for shipping companies, time of year , slow/rude customer service and the time line with a trip coming up quickly. I bought a board , had it shipped via UPS , board arrived with a chip out of the top sheet (about a finger wide at the very edge of the board roughly between the binding inserts ) was told they ld replace it with another which is nice but because I have time restrictions in which to send and re- recieve the second board as I have trip planned comiyup soon . With the shipping delays world wide the board took a bit longer to arrive to begin with and with Purolator and ups having shutdown for 48 hours delays were going to be had , I tried to communicate this with Mike . Took 3 emails on my behalf to finally get a ride reply in which he tried to say he had already addressed my questions regarding shipping. Which he most certainly did not . In the mean time I spoke with UPS supervisor to enquire about sending back the board to Ontario and what delays they thought it would have . They quoted generally a week for a board due to its oversized shape if it's down via ground plus a 4 day delay on each end as they were way behind on packages. I explained to Mike yet again that short of offering express shipping both ways there'd be absolutely no way the board would arrive in time for my trip . A rental for a week would cost more then I paid for the board originally so now I'm left with either dealing with a ride shop owner to replace the board but not have it for the trip or ride it as is and never shop at fathom again. I even waited until the end of day today to give him a chance to reply regarding rush shipping but of course no reply . I had even suggested perhaps applying a discount/ credit to the purchase to rectify the damaged goods I had received. He ignored this altogether. Few extra details The box didn't have any visible damage so damaged in shipping seems unlikely. In the original reply from Mike he confirmed he had personally inspected the board before packaging it. Great that they offered a replacement but it should of never happened to begin with . The board was package loosely in a cardboard box , only extra was a bent piece of cardboard folded over the tip and tail . But nothing for side to side and with the large box it definitely had extra room in all directions. A very thin plastic wrapping which was still on the board . Roughed up in a few spots along the metal edge which is normal but of course a little cut in the plastic where the chip is in the board. At very first glance I was able to notice it when I took it out of the box ... Definitely salty , going to ride the board anyways because boards are going to get damaged but generally it's some kid in a lift line or in the park instead of arriving damaged but hey guess that's what I get for buying online and expecting all boards to be packaged properly. *Shout out to Bataleon for properly packaging my gf's board as hers arrived protected and with NO DAMAGE ! * So needless to say I'm going to keep the board because paying for a rental would be stupid during my trip. At this point and time I can't see myself shopping with fathom boards ever again , there are far too many sites/ shops out there to keep putting up with sub par service. I thought I'd try a new shop but man do I ever wish I bought elsewhere! I have emails and pictures to upload if possible but I don't see any options in this review form ...

We are both in our 50s and have been riding almost 30 years. Boy did we luck out. We shopped a bit last season knowing we were due for full overhaul, but found younger, inexperienced staff at many big shops did not really know their stuff or have great advice. Then we walked into Fathom on the main drag in Collingwood yesterday and met the owner Mike who had incredible advice and experience and product knowledge to help us make the right decisions. we went home overnight, checked out the store online, were impressed and went back today to make some buys. My wife bought board, boots and bindings. I picked up similar bindings and will be back next month once the 2024 boards arrive. Mike was kind and generous with his time, had a ton of experience over 30 years and recommendations and would strongly recommend for anyone whether novice or experienced to seek his insight before making a decision on your next snowboard purchases. Who better to get advice from than a guy who rides a ton and owns a store, so he knows all the products. Thank you Mike, it was a pleasure to meet you. Lisa and Jeff, Bolton
