We came here for a walk and picnic. This is a nice hidden gem. It can get a little busy here, but not as busy as other parks. The parking lot in this area can house cars and vehicles with trailers. Each parking space is long so you can pull in with your vehicle and trailer. If you park just your vehicle here, you'll probably end up with a ticket! ( They patrol this area) For the most part, there is a small beach for you to enjoy. There's grass areas for you to set up your picnic. There's shelters if you're interested in a party like setting. There's bike paths or you can jog. There's also fire rings as well. Restroom building nearby. There's Overall, a nice hidden gem. This spot, you can see the back of SeaWorld! You can bring food and drinks. No glass bottles or alcohol. We enjoy our little picnics and walks here. It's nice to get our steps in!!! read more

I came here to get some exercise and soak up the local ju-ju. It's a nice part of the bay with good grassy areas about, picnic tables, an pavilion, and plenty of sandy shore that meets the bay. There are restrooms available, and what I liked most about this place were the mature shade trees. They were not only graceful but provided a lot of good shade. There are fire pits available with coal disposal cans a side. Good planning. One thing I could not help noticing was the place definitely could benefit from some TLC, especially with some of the tables and around pavilion, and drinking fountains. Hidden Gem We were looking for a secluded intimate location and we found it. There's a grass section to lay out a blanket and watch the sunset. And sand to get the beach feel. Restrooms available.. and done pottapotties that need SERVICE. #riverofpoop There was a party next to us and. About in the water with a lot of different bands and singers performed. There was seating and you could just hop on and off. There's even docks for you to ride jetskis! read more

Came here for a bonfire rafter sunset so I can't speak on how this spot is during the day. Plenty of parking didn't see a gate but I wouldn't park over night. Public restrooms available... as far as public restrooms go it wasn't bad surprisingly. Smells awful of course. Bring hand sanitizer can't trust that soap will be available but there is a sink. We got a fire pit next to a picnic table but we also brought 3 foldable tables. The fire pits are a good width apart from each other so you won't have to hear the other parties around you. We setup the food on the grassy area and the fire pit is just a few steps away in the sand and the water is right there. Had a charcoal grill setup on the picnic table to make burgers. At night you get views of the city lights and it's quite relaxing. The parking lot has plenty of lights and don't be afraid the lights are red which are easier for your eyes to adjust to at night. I felt safe going back to my car. Overall, it's a great spot for bonfires. Parking is plentiful and pits are spaced out well. Plenty of public restrooms near by. read more

We came to Ski Beach for our friend's birthday party, and just as the name describes, this park is perfect for jet skis and water sports! Parking was pretty challenging later in the afternoon, we had to circle a few lots before finding a spot, and I read some other reviewers mention to be careful not to park in the boat spots, or else you will get ticketed. There is plenty of grassy and shady area for BBQ-ing, picnic and outdoor sports. Some families even brought inflatable pop-ups for their kids. Our friend's family brought a jet ski and we all took turns driving it. There are harbor patrols, be mindful not to speed and to wear a life jacket, or you will also get ticketed. Not sure how clean the water is, I did fall into it a few times when jet skiing. You can't see the bottom, so I'm assuming it might be slightly dirty. We had so much fun celebrating our friend's birthday here at Ski Beach. Definitely recommend for a big group of people who like the sun, water and breeze! read more

Great pit stop as long as there is no event going on. You do not want to get stuck down in this area during event traffic. Pretty spot with views of Fiesta island on one side and Sea World on the other. On a nice day, seems like a lot of people stop here for their lunch break during the week. Ski beach is always a blast! Great place to bring a small boat and/or jet ski. Lots of space to launch, there's loads of parking for cars with trailers and cars without, plenty of grassy areas to set up picnic. The actual Beach is kind of small but it's not really for swimming. Mostly boats and jet skis being anchored. There is a nice designated swimming area that is roped off to keep everyone safe. There's usually a good amount of people riding out in the water, so the water can be quite choppy but adds to the fun. The weekends can be quite busy, so arrive early to get a close up spot to picnic. They also have lots of bathrooms with showers for everyone to rinse off. There's constantly park workers coming by to empty out the trash cans and check the bathrooms for toilet paper. This is a great place to have a beach day and even greater if you have water toys. read more

Everyone frequents here for BBQ's and Car Meets, cause they're the least packed beach in Mission Bay, there's always tons of parking spaces. Nearby by playground for children, nearby bathrooms for everyone, canopies with tables and benches, clean grass, palm trees, bonfires, water sports, tons of space for activities, and enjoying the beautiful weather! read more

I'm from San Diego so I've been here plenty of times. Was down there with my family and it was packed per usual. You gotta get there early to get a good spot and parking usually sucks lol. Come on now, what's not to love about this boat launch. It is, even on the busiest of days, the easiest to access around the whole bay. I can always find a spot to park the Truck after I launch. I also really love the public bathrooms here. Especially if you have to go and you are on Ingraham. I know, TMI but they are much better then a fast food place. Just sayin.... read more

Fantastic location on Mission Bay for picnics, group gatherings and little kids in general. Smooth shallow water perfect for wading toddlers. Of course it's also great if you're an adult with skis and a motorboat/jetskis. Plenty of parking, lots of separate picnic areas, great little playground with swings all in good shape. View is ok... Fiesta Island, Mission Hills, the bay etc. But with sunny San Diego skies, who needs more? Today was absolutely gorgeous - temps in the mid-70s, hardly a cloud to be seen! read more

Nice place on the beach (facing back of sea world) Has a lot of grass to play on, and small beach along the shore. We usually go set up a net on the grass and play volleyball on some weekends. Crowds are hit and miss (summer can get packed) Pretty clean area- other than bathrooms are sometimes iffy.. Plus the fact that right now they only keep one bathroom station open in the entire park (they have like 4 different ones!!) Due to budget/funds.. They say... But all in all its pretty nice. My friends host Bay Day here once a month during the summer. Since I live the closest, I'm usually the one waking up before dawn to claim a fire pit so our all day jet skiing can turn into an all night bonfire. Claiming a fire pit is serious business -- get here by 7:30AM if you plan on staying for the bonfire, and much earlier if you want one of the coveted spots by the parking lots. Speaking of parking, this is the best thing about Ski Beach -- there's always plenty of parking. Make sure you don't park in any of the spots for cars with trailers though (unless you have a trailer of course), they ticket frequently. And they also ticket for dogs between 8AM and 6PM, so leave Fido at home. There's also plenty of space in general. We pop up three canopies and set up a volleyball court. There's not a whole lot of beach, but this is more of a hang-out-on-the-grass park than lay-out-on-the-sand beach anyway. Excellent view of Sea World fireworks... too bad they only have them on holidays now. read more

Went today - this place is so nasty! I found a rusty nail that thankfully I didn't step on! But that was only the beginning - chicken bones, cigarette butts, solo cups, random trash everywhere and it smelled like crap. Literally. I was looking around to make sure I didn't step in it! Lots of green grass... Perfect place to play football, soccer, volleyball, any sport! You can also load your jetski or boat, for free i think. Lots of free parking, except on those long weekends - July 4th / Memorial Day, etc. Nothing beats FREE fun out in the sun. read more

Great place to see Sea Worl Fireworks! And it was our choice for 4th of July! So while everyone was watching the big bay boom BUST, we got to see a 15 minute orgasmic firework show put on by the shamu caretakers. 4th of Julyers, get there the night before and camp out...its the only time the police will bend on the camping out there rule Its a haven for Chaldean families on the 4th Literally every other tent/beach spot had a hookah They have fire pits! These pits do not need to be put out till you are kicked out at 2am! Some of the latest pits in the county! The jetskis are a-running around, and if you make friends with people, you will ride in either a jetski or a speedboat! Or rent one yourself you cheap skate! Yeah, I'm taking to you, me. Grabbed a shuttle here to head to the San Diego Crew Classic... was impressed with the facilities, parking, and it's sweet that you can spread out, grill, set up pretty much anything that you want, and enjoy the beach and surrounds. I like how close it is to everything... just wished I could get plastered out there too. :/ read more

Can't believe these jet skiers no nothing about RULES.I haven't been here in a long time but these people are a disaster waiting to happen. We had our boat there and they ignored our red flag for our kids tubing/ skiing.Patrol boats need to monitor better and the business renting the jet ski's need to explain the safety rules not just how to go fast. read more

I love going to ski beach because even when I went on a holiday there was still plenty of space and I didn't have to search for a parking spot. The play ground for the kids is great and was in a good location. BEST part was to stay for the fire works from sea world!! read more

Kind of a small little ramp, but conveniently located right in the center of the bay: puts you in the perfect spot to explore. Since its right near the ski zone, the dock gets quite a lot of wake at times, so watch out. I launched here late one afternoon and it was dark by the time I came back and was surprised that there were no lights whatsoever anywhere near this ramp. Made it a little difficult to navigate. I was here, working in the area for the Fourth of July holiday, over the weekend, which fell on a Saturday, this year. It was definitely completely filled 100% for parking by 7:30AM. if you're not here early on holiday weekends, you will be forced to look elsewhere. If you do get in, I strongly encourage you to NOT park in the boat / trailer parking stalls with your personal vehicle, I noted that the parking enforcement officers were towing cars from those stalls and paying close to $400.00 to retrieve their vehicles from impound on Monday. It's scary. Don't do it. The area itself is nice. It is located on the bay side, meaning they don't have any waves, and the water is tame. Lots of boating here, as theirs a small place to launch your ski's and boats etc. it's great here, because theirs a lot of green grass to set up on, instead of plopping in the sand, that gets everywhere. People brought their tents and camped out all day waiting for 14 mins of a fire works display. I kinda don't get it but what ever. Come and enjoy a slice of the beach here. read more

parking always available, busy on july 4th weekend but still was able to launch a jet ski and load back up. people seemed respectful
