Although experienced skiers and snowboarders would probably snub this facility because it only has limited facilities and a 100-metre slope, it is still the only one of its kind in Cardiff and is not a bad place to learn the basics. There's overhead ski lift; it is well floodlit for evenings; and the staff and instructors I've encountered have been very friendly and encouraging. There are always taster sessions available, or beginners and intermediate coaching if you're more serious about the sport.
For adults just wanting to ski recreationally, though, rather than as part of a group lesson, an hour on the slope costs £10, or 2 hours costs £15.
If you're visiting individually and not as part of a scheduled lesson programme, make sure you call up first to check when it's open to the public (because sometimes the slope is closed for things like Cardiff Ski Club race training sessions). read more
