However once you can ski there is very little to do here. The run is very short and it takes about 4 times as long to get up the slope as it does to get down. We went to refresh our skills in time for our ski holiday and the instructor gave us a few pointers about our technique which were useful but they soon left us to get on with a few runs on our own. Not a bad place for learners but tired and in need of a little makeover methinks.

Although experienced skiers and snowboarders would probably snub this facility because it only has…read morelimited facilities and a 100-metre slope, it is still the only one of its kind in Cardiff and is not a bad place to learn the basics. There's overhead ski lift; it is well floodlit for evenings; and the staff and instructors I've encountered have been very friendly and encouraging. There are always taster sessions available, or beginners and intermediate coaching if you're more serious about the sport. For adults just wanting to ski recreationally, though, rather than as part of a group lesson, an hour on the slope costs £10, or 2 hours costs £15. If you're visiting individually and not as part of a scheduled lesson programme, make sure you call up first to check when it's open to the public (because sometimes the slope is closed for things like Cardiff Ski Club race training sessions).
