I've been coming here since I was a little and now I brought my little. There's been some changes. There's a nice spot for photos in the lobby area, you can purchase a game card for the games. My son loved it here and I forgot how fun skating rinks are.

Balloon drop for 4 pm new years!

We came to Skating Plus for the New Years Eve open skate as a family with 12 with people from 10-55 years old and we all had a great time! It was very nostalgic with the bright 90s neon carpets, loud music from a DJ and so much fun! You can rent quad skates or rollerblades and they don't mind if you need to switch them out for a better experience. Since this was a new years event there was a balloon drop, with hats and noise makers too! There were lots of tables and you could order food if needed. This was a first skating experience for the younger kids but we will definitely be back!

    Hotdogs

Overbooked birthday parties, not enough tables to sit at, not enough oven space for pizzas for everyone, need to wait until all the birthday party people are served first. They will not allow any outside food, only 3 hotdogs available for all these people. Spoke with Sonny the manager, and he said no exceptions, he could "put more hotdogs on", but why didn't they already plan ahead when they saw the number of people waiting to get in? Did he not see the need to be prepared as the pizzas would not be available for the non- party people? Very poor management. Supposedly party people get priority, despite the fact they were already too booked with parties that the party people were cramped. Unfortunate that the Company is focused on profits more than their customers. ** Updated from one to two stars simply because our group still had fun, despite not eating until 3:15. Sonny also reached out while we were still there and attempted a better response. While they were overbooked and weren't prepared for the number of people, I at least appreciate his attempt. I think this establishment should consider partnering with outside pizza restaurants, to prevent another situation of leaving customers without enough food at lunchtime. Their ovens are not large enough to handle the amount of people that were there. Also, as someone who works in a corporate client service role, first response is everything. Brushing off customers legitimate concerns, even if you don't agree it's legitimate, is management's first mistake and only serves to alienate your clientele.

    Unmatchable family fun.

The family and I are here all the time. Good times good food and good staff!!! The social atmosphere is awesome lots of friendly people as long as the drama is professionally handled. Skating has helped me lose fifty pounds since the pandemic. Bring your family and friends skating plus will not disappoint!!! If you don't know how to skate, don't be guy. There are plenty of friendly people that will help you as well as sessions for beginners, not to mention the awesome birthday party packages. Only thing else I can ask for is possibly a saturday night adult session!!! Exciting!!

What a great time I had! Late night skating on a Saturday was everything I never knew I needed in my life :) Great music, fun vibes, and good times. I'll be back again soon.

Fun family friendly place to spend the afternoon. Admission price is fair for open skating hours (noon-4pm). They play 90s music with the typical disco ball & lights. Very nostalgic from my childhood. You can rent a skate mate pvc walker with wheels to help beginners for $5. This has been great for my kids as they learn. The skates are standard and work as expected. Plenty of parking. It could get crowded with kids. Mostly teenagers. People behind the counter are usually friendly. Try to go on a less busy day. Its hard to go skating when crowded and you are constantly about to run into other skaters

We celebrated our granddaughter's 12th Birthday at Skating Plus this weekend. This seemed like a very fun venue for her, friends and family. I was impressed with the family atmosphere and all of the kids seemed to really have fun. There is a lot of staff supervision both on and off rink. There were five Birthday Parties going on the day we were there, so there was alot of festivities. The pizza was delicious. All of the concession prices were quite reasonable. Skate rental was $15. The rising also has walker type devices for beginners for a small rental fee. My daughter in law uses to go to this rink qben she was young and said little has changed. The same owner who was visible throughout the day was there when she was young. I find this to be pretty amazing . All of the teen staff were polite and cheerful - very hard to find these days.

Great holiday gifts! Skates make everyone happy. The owner will order you skates and customize them with any color wheels you like. We ordered some and they came in in a few days. Such a fun Christmas present. And perfect for COVID. Support a local business and have spread joy at the same time.

Ask the Community - Skating Plus

Does the rink offer rollerblade rentals?

Yes, they do. I think $4.50 vs $3.75 for rollerskates

Does your rink allow fiberglass wheels as well as custom made skates? Custom made skates being those in which you would get shoes and put them into the shoe in such places as SK8 Fanatics.

I believe so. I've seen many folks in there with custom skates. Your skates must have a toe stop.

Skates for a 2.5 year old?

Our smallest size rental skate is a child size 8. This is usually a 2.5 - 3 year old. Thanks for asking!

Are there roller blades or only skates?

They have quads (a.k.a. four-wheelers) and inline skates (a.k.a. rollerblades).

It's a great place to skate for all ages, from tiny tots (who they have small ice walkers for) to college students (who they have free ice skate rentals for on Tuesday's at 7) to adults (great date idea if at least one of you has firm footing on ice). We went on Tuesday as College Night attendees, and luckily for us, it was also Taco Tuesday!! Val, one of the guys working the Rinkside Cafe, makes birria tacos and they're absolutely delicious. Completely surpassed my expectations for an ice rink cafe taco for sure. Warm, cheesy, umami delight. A huge reward after falling on the freezing cold ice while sliding around on skates. The veggie taco is also pretty good; a nice complement to all the heavier dairy and meat. Definitely come check this place out, both for the recreation and for the food!

As you enter you come across a small little office entrance area and that is where you purchase your admission and they give you a bracelet and then you walk a few more steps and you get your skates that's included in the price you pay $27 per adult ice skates included. They have a cool area where you can sit down kind of like benches and they are next to some lockers that you can leave your stuff at but they do not lock just FYI. Their bathrooms are very clean male and female restrooms separate as well. The padding on the floor is the same throughout the whole place so that way you don't have to take them off and then put them back on. We did the 1pm-3pm slot so you have enough time to bring in the rink. We had a blast and if you aren't the best but still want to participate they have these small little stands to help you navigate and you do pay extra for them. They are helpful but I think they should invest in some for adults that way they are a bit taller and you don't have to crouch down makes it hard. The ones they have are meant for kids, still helpful but that would be nice if they did have bigger ones. They do have vending machines if you want a snack and water bottles but if you bring your swell they have a water fountain. The staff here were very nice so I appreciated that we had a pretty good group of 20 so they were very accommodating as well. Can't wait to be back!

One of the most disappointing event experiences I've ever had…read more We purchased three general admission tickets for Saturday at the X Games in Salt Lake City, planning our entire day around seeing the Men's Street and Men's Park competitions. What wasn't made clear at all on the website was that access to those events required an upgrade. If that had been obvious, we absolutely would have upgraded. We drove an hour and a half out of our way for this--and when we arrived, we were told we couldn't get into the very events we came to see. Staff on-site weren't able to offer any help, and all upgrades were already sold out. With no other option, we left almost immediately. This was our first time attending the X Games, and honestly, it was devastating. We spent $240 for general admission just to stand in a hot, unshaded parking lot with barely any amenities and overpriced food and drinks. Even worse, we weren't alone--several other people around us were equally frustrated and confused for the exact same reason. Clearly, the lack of transparency affected more than just us. If the website had been clearer about what GA tickets actually included, this all could have been avoided. I've reached out for a refund--because unless this is made right, I won't be returning. Extremely disappointed in how this was handled.

I collected Tech Decks and played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on N64. I remember watching Tony Hawk do the first ever 900 on TV in 1999. Today, stars like Nyjah Huston, Letícia Bufoni, Sky Brown, Lizzie Armanto and Yuto Horigome have progressed the sport of skateboarding to what it is today. I bought my first skateboard back in the 80's and still ride a longboard today. ESPN founded the X Games (Extreme Games) 30 years ago to showcase action sports like skateboarding, BMX and motocross. The first event was held in Rhode Island in 1995. The inaugural Winter X Games would take place a couple years later in 1997. The Summer X Games would eventually move to Los Angeles and enjoyed a long 10 year stay there. The games were spread out at multiple venues all over L.A. I was able to attend my first ever X Games in 2013 and saw both Skateboard Vert and Street at the Event Deck at L.A. LIVE and Moto X Racing at the Staples Center. It was so much fun! But sadly, it would also be the last X Games in California for some time. Summer X Games would move around multiple states after that. In 2023, Summer X Games made the decision to move back to California after not being at a live venue for years due to the pandemic. In my opinion, Summer X Games belongs in California. Skateboarding history has deep roots in the Golden State and it should be showcased here. Plus being from Arizona, the drive to Ventura isn't too bad. The event finals are now being held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. I also like that you are able to see all of the events at one venue. I had a blast spending the day watching the best of BMX, skateboarding and motocross competition. It was a hot and long day. Some of the competitions were hard to see and you had to have a VIP pass to get up and close (which wasn't cheap). This was very frustrating for many people including myself. The merch line was crazy long and they sold out of everything. But overall, I am glad that I went and tried to make the best of my time here. I heard X Games is making some changes to future events to address some of these issues. I did appreciate that they handed out free Monsters and that there were decent food options.
