Whenever I walk through Erlangen I try to walk at least once through the Schlossgarten! Beautiful scenery, a little stuffed with students in the sommer, but lovely nevertheless. A few statues every now and then, several paths cutting through, lots of shadowy spots and the botanic garden is just a breathtaking mess (in a very good way!) If you happen to stroll through Erlangen, make sure you pass through this beautiful park!

It's a rather small park, and always crowded with students, but it's a nice place to walk through if you're strolling through town. Right next to the park is a huge playground with a water area, swings and a place to play table tennis. The best part is the flea market that takes place here every first Saturday of the month. It's Franconia's oldest flea market, and unlike many others, you will find less proper merchants and far more students and other people who simply want to sell their sometimes extremely odd and artsy goods.
