Celebrated my daughter's birthday here and she actually had a very good time. Ryan (spell check), was a very good party host and the folks handling the skates and the snack bar were very friendly and easy to deal with. My only complaint was the excessive amount of flies. I mean they were everywhere and trying to get any hint of food. I thought the last 15 minutes of the session were dedicated to dances with skates, but actually it was only for skate free dancing. I am currently here with my middle school students for an end of year field trip. The kids are enjoying themselves. After all, that's what really matters. We are the only school here today. However, the staff, with the exception of one young lady, is very off putting. The staff wearing black shirts were rude. I quietly observed how they spoke to our students. They appeared to be short-tempered upon our arrival, irritated by our presence, and overall not nice. Our students were well-mannered and well behaved. I would not recommend choosing this location for any further trips. read more

Everyone knows how I feel about Baltimore, however I will do anything for the kids. This particular Saturday I was attending a birthday party for a 9 year old with my daughter. Upon entry i knew things were going downhill when I witnessed a gentlemen outside with shades on and a lime green blazer with gold teeth. Upon entry I was hit with the smell of smoke. I handed my card over and was not told the prices nor my total. When I asked for a receipt I was told they do not provide receipts. After getting my daughters skates on which I am pretty sure they do not spray ewwwwwwww she proceeded to skate. Now we skate often and am upset I forgot hers and are used to a good Kidz Bop playlist however these people were playing at full speed everything inappropriate including "Pound Town" I was shocked. I wasn't surprised when my daughter and her little friends came over to notify us of a fight in the corner by the bathrooms. I will never return, they run this place like the slum it is located in versus providing some type of kid appropriate quality establishment. read more

This place needs to replace all of their skates. They have holes in them and the laces all have knots in them and are frayed so you can't even tighten them. And they charge $4 to rent the the broken skates. Also $6 is a rip off to rent the walker. Would not recommend. read more

This place is fun. Most of the problems come from parents who just drop their kids off like it's a day care center. Your kids are not as well behaved as you think they are. The rink is fantastic and looks like it was recently redone. Plenty of well lit parking. Could use some more renovations inside but that 70's/80's feel is retro now right? Go and have a good time but make sure to watch your kids. read more

not good at all this place needs to close down , the owners just let this place drop to the gutter , everything in there is old old and old , nothing new ... food is horrible no tops for the drinks , condiments, tables was dirty , floors had first marks on them like it was mop with a dirty mop , this is very sad and heart breaking that our kids have to deal with this place as there only option of skating places in east Baltimore , the owners have got to do better my kids not going back , nothing has change in years. read more

This place has a great floor but play some of the most trash music all night long... there is not a night where you can escape the lids bop playlist and it's repetitive every single day and night... Thursday nights are empty and yet the owners complain about not being able to have an adult night even with majority adults and yes kids bop is still the playlist for 3 hours straight! Its sad definitely being a regular and even skipping a closer rink just to skate here. There once was skaters there and they were forced out by the music alone! read more

Skateland North Point is a diamond in the rough. On one hand, you have a family-friendly rink with off-street parking, nestled in a relatively safe part of town. This facility has large wooden skating surface that is in impeccable shape; quite possibly one of the smoothest and most level surfaces in the region. In fact, the floor is such a dream to skate on that the Charm City Roller Girls use it as their practice arena. However, not everyone goes to a roller rink to skate. For some, atmosphere and sociability are the main concerns, and this is where Skateland North Point suffers. The place is icky. The carpets look like they have never been vacuumed and the bathrooms feel like something out of a federal prison. For this reason, it doesn't strike me as a desirable hangout, even for the younger set. But, if you can look past the grime, Skateland North Point does have a few redeeming qualities besides the rink surface. The snack area is quite large with several rows of tables, a snack bar, and a cleared area where extra tables and chairs can be added. It is perfectly setup for children's birthday parties. Granted, I would suggest that any potential party planners bring their own grub because the kitchen facilities in the snack bar could use some modern updates and a bucket of bleach. Overall though, if you are interested in an affordable night of skating or an inexpensive place to throw a kid's party, Skateland North Point is probably your best bet for safe family fun. read more

Why are kids being told they need to be off the property prior to closing? Friday night skate ends at 11pm and 5 mins prior mine were told they had 5 more mins to stand outside to wait for me to get them or they needed to stand on the other side of north point? By a bar???? Telling my teenage kids to stand by a bar! I arrived at 1057 and was tempted to find whoever feels they have the authority to harass my kids for doing nothing wrong. Another thing, staff better start keeping their eyes open and deterring the sexual harassment/hate speech that is occurring on the property. It's becoming a common theme and if I keep hearing about it, I'm going to escalate my complaint to authorities. It's illegal in case any staff forgot. read more

My favorite rink in the greater Baltimore area. Well kept floor, enthusiastic management, and good location. This rink cares about roller skaters of all types, and works to maintain a good, safe facility. Some folks have complained about cleanliness - but honestly, it is still above par than other area rinks in terms of things like carpet off rinks and restrooms. That's not enough to knock off a star from my rating - for me it's all about a maintained floor and enjoyable atmosphere. read more

It's a bit run down. And the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. But you can skate like you did as a kid. It'd be nice if they invested a bit of money into upgrading the place. But I get that roller rinks don't rake in big bucks these days. read more

This place needs some serious cleaning and they need to start spraying the skates. I was given a pair that smelled like urine. That's disgusting. The staff also needs to step up and say something about unsafe behaviors such as kids running on the floor without shoes, kids pushing the skate rails around the floor, etc. All in all, the floor is nice, but everything else... Only 6 bucks to skate the food is good and cheap & my family and I had a great time. Couldn't ask for more.

If I could give no stars, I would. I grew up skating here and went back tonight to find the guards not doing their jobs. Kids standing on the floor and running on the floor with shoes. Little children that needed help weren't being helped. Kids texting and not watching where they are going as they were skating. Two kids actually hit each other because kids were going the wrong way as well. If you want a skating rink with no rules then skate here otherwise don't waste your money. read more

ehh... it's a hit or miss. it's best to bring your own skates because the majority of the skates they offer are heavily used and worn out, and lots of the skates have loose wheels. so i'd say bring your own. but its really fun ! the staff needs to keep a better eye on the kids there since a lot of fights break out, but other than that it's awesome. food is a little pricey but that's okay ! read more

We had our daughters birthday party February 23rd and were very excited about it, but ended up SO PACKED! Our guests we invited had no parking and weren't able to stay. Then there was about 5 other birthday parties that day as well where the one party we were informed had an order for 26 PIZZAS!! They did that order before anyone else's (we only had 2 pizzas) they definitely should have made the other orders first because we ended up getting our pizzas around 3:15pm then they had the birthday dance at 3:30 (plus everything ends promptly at 4pm) so everyone had to rush to eat and they were all young kids so they were hungry early. I know my daughter had fun with her friends and all but was still kind of disappointed with how they handled this. We will continue to still come I know my daughter enjoys skating but I think they should handle this problem. Also the girl I believe her name is Taylor speaks too loud over the speakers!! Held our annual family reunion there in July and everyone had a great time, the staff was very helpful to new skaters, floor was very clean, food was good, restroom was clean and the DJ had the kids and adults skating together. 60 of us had the rink to ourselves for 2 hrs and had a wonderful time. We will definitely go back to Skateland. read more

This rink has a nice floor, no gum or debris! It was recently refinished and is smooth except for a warped spot on the far end. Management actually cleans the rink floor at the end of skating session. Rental skates are taken care of and they have a basic selection of skates available at the "pro shop" counter near the entrance. read more

Great floor, really awesome old school skating rink. Too much ghetto rap (that's all that was played, all night how about something fun to skate to?), and lack of supervision. Kids running around the rink in shoes, kids skating the wrong direction. Prices reasonable. I doubt if I'll ever come back though. Not family friendly at all and too dangerous. read more

Great rink- well maintained and clean floor- which is critical. The owner(s) take obvious pride in the floor and keep it clean. Great environment- and the staff are very friendly- which I have not experienced from the other rink I go to in the area. read more

This has to be the worst place to skate in Baltimore, REALLY!! We went on a Saturday evening and could not really skate. The youngsters were rude, wild and ratchet! They have no respect for the other skaters what so ever. Then you have the large annoying group of teens taking up the whole middle section as well as the corners on the end with their flying limbs-not skating at all! And management doesn't seem to care. Not good for little kids either, they will just get run over. The music is beyond whack, gotta bring your headphones or ear plugs. The floor was very dirty, constantly avoiding gum,etc. And make sure you go the bathroom at home, I will leave it at that. North Point definitely got my last $5.50!! This place needs some order never seen anything like this before!! read more
