The first thing I noticed about 60Kvadrat, was the atmosphere: cool interior design and layout. The location in the heart of Uppsala, but a bit hidden into a small cozy alley, supported my idea of how nice the place would be. This restaurant had to be tested. A few times I had to turn back at the door because I didn't have a reservation. The place seems to be full every evening. Although that does not require much, as the intimate restaurant fits about 30 people. Finally, I realized my own mistake at the third time and booked a table, which was more than worth it. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Sometimes the state of the customer service ruins an otherwise wonderful experience, but here it indeed even improved it. While eating, the young guy came to ask us if everything was ok and if we enjoyed the food. We didn't have to answer anything else but an honest yes. Since food is an important aspect in rating restaurants, I can not forget to discuss that. Shortly, it was delicious. The menu is not too wide, but you can still find yourself from the hard situation of which plate to pick. I ended up taking the Chèvre salad with walnuts and honey. On the other side of the table I could see Al Taglio - a four square-shaped pizza pieces, with delicious fillings. The meals were beautiful. By their look and their taste. The prices are ok (or 'lagom' as they say in Sweden): neither a once-in-a-lifetime thing nor an everyday place to eat. After I came home from the restaurant, I started to think what would I say about it. It was hard to try to find anything negative. The slightly narrow size of the place would maybe be the only one. On the other hand, the atmosphere would not be as cozy and intimate without that. I really felt like 60Kvadrat was a complete positive combination in all areas. Food, service, atmosphere, location; all get the full five stars from me.

(Review Written on the 15th of June 2017)…read more I was born and raised an American citizen. I grew up in a farm town and spent my time playing baseball and lived next to a hunting ground, I know what being American means. And by jove this restaurant serves some of the most authentic American burgers I've ever tried here in Sweden. The meat was fresh, the cheese was real, and the french fries were just crunchy enough on the outside, yet soft and potato-y on the inside. The atmosphere of the open kitchen gives off the feeling of the American spirit of efficiency, yet still holding the quality of a gourmet burger. However, I think personally that the place could use a makeover, as it feels a bit bland and almost childish with the brightly colored chairs and tables which feel sort of out of place with the blank white walls surrounding the dining area. The buns on the burger could have also been a bit softer. It is difficult to achieve the perfect bun, crunchy around the edges but soft in the middle, and I would say the burger did reach the gourmet level, the only part I did not think really made it was the buns. Maybe it was just the time of day I got here but, just keep in mind Dylan. Work your buns.

Café Victoria is located in Uppsala's Botanical Garden (Botaniska Trädgården). It's tucked away in the back, and you can see the edge of the garden. Seating consists of a patio of scrunched together tables with umbrellas and heaters, and tables scattered under the trees. The former are probably your only option on rainy or cold days, and the latter are wonderful on sunny days. We came for fika one day and lunch the next. Coffee is 15kr. It wasn't my favorite. Aside from coffee, they have a number of other espresso drinks. We tried the "Kall Latte," which is espresso, milk, ice cream, and whipped cream on top. More like a coffee-y milkshake, and a great treat. They also sell beer and cider. The pastries were tasty and fresh. I had the småbulle (which was quite large), and the linnebulle (which was huge!) We visited for lunch on the last day they were open, so the menu might have been shorter than usual. As is typical in Sweden, their lunch menu was short on vegetarian options. I think there was a cheese sandwich and cheese pie. I went pescetarian with the smoked salmon potato salad. It was a great mix of greens, sauces, potatoes and salads.

The food is very good and they have a good selection of meals. They also sell home made bread and if you are still hungry after lunch you can have a nice dessert, because they also have a large variety of pastry. I absolutely love this place in summer and it is definitely worth a visit!
