I unfortunately did not have tickets to tour the inside of the castle, but based on online photos, I really wish that I had bought tickets so I could see the historic, fancy rooms. I did, however, spend much time walking around the exterior of the castle. The architecture looked gorgeous. Then I walked through the garden, for which I wrote a separate Yelp review, and then I saw the moat with fish and the drawbridge leading to the castle. I recommend that tourists visit this castle.

In reality, Tivoli is an *amusement park* with a few dozen rides and games, several dozen restaurants, and many shops. At the ticket counter, an employee spoke politely with my husband and me in English. We bought two adult tickets for entry without rides. One of the first things that we did was to go to Tivoli's food hall, which I will review separately. Then we walked around the amusement park to see the rides, games, gift shops, and some plants and fountains. Overall, I think that Tivoli is a decent amusement park. It is not the largest and does not have the most modern rides, but you can still have a good time here.

With its distinctive spiral ramp, the Round Tower has become a Danish landmark. Here are some notable facts and points of interest: 1.The Hollow Core: the shape of the tower was Denmark's geographical zero point. 2. There is an Observatory which houses a telescope built in 1929. 3. The Library Hall is used for changing exhibits, cultural events and concerts 4. The Spiral Ramp will get you to 10,000 steps easily; it is the only way to the top of the tower and spins 7 1/2 times around the Tower's hollow core. Believe me, you feel those twists as you climb. 5. The Bell Loft is situated above the Library Hall and two floors above the Trinity Church where the bells have rung for hundreds of years. 6. The Platform: once you climb the narrow stairs you are atop and can see all of Copenhagen's charms and Sweden. During the summer there is a kiosk that sells sweet treats 7. The Planetarium: shows the solar system I highly recommend visiting Rundetaarn. It is located in Norreport; beautiful shops and restaurants. It's the City Hall of Copenhagen seen from our walking tour meeting point in the square. We arrived…read moreearlier than the start time. Our tour guide suggested that we have a look inside while we wait. It ended up being a nice cultural experience. It's open to the public in the daytime. On a Saturday morning, we saw a bride in her wedding gown having photos taken for her big day in the grand public courtyard. The sunlight was shining through the vaulted skylight ceiling above us. It's a warm & welcoming place for all to see. There are danish flags surrounding the hall as well as one from Greenland and another from the Faroe Islands. You'll see the other flags directly across from the entrance. There are a lot of artful details such as patterns & colors in the marble flooring and the mosaics of Nordic birds lining the inside of the arches. The soapstone lion basins provide relaxing sounds of flowing water while walking through the hall. There's a lot of cool things to see such as the clock tower and Jen Olsen's World Clock if you have more time. It's a 300 step climb up to the tower where you can get views of the city and Tivoli Gardens. It may be worth the small fee to book the tower as well as a tour of City Hall. We didn't get to see it all. There are a few things that I saw worth mentioning. The stained glass Coat of Arms, the Art Nouveau stone mural above the city council's chamber door, and the gold gilded statue of Bishop Absalon (the Founder of Copenhagen) tell you right away that this building was built with the Nordic culture and its people in mind. The phrase "Saa er by som borger" is there for all to see. It's what Martin Nyrop envisioned it to be in his architecture. It's totally worth a visit for the architecture alone. I'd love to go back to see the inner courtyard garden one day. Also, make sure you look up closely at the top of the building while you're walking around Rådhuspladsen. There are some unique sculptures that will draw you in.

It feels important but not stuffy. The building dates back to the early 1900s and is a centerpiece of Danish civic life, hosting everything from official ceremonies to public events. When we were there, the square out front was buzzing with an Indian fair, complete with yoga and music, which somehow worked perfectly against the historic backdrop. And shout out to the true Danish snack and beverage clerk who charged me for three espresso drinks but the. I wandered off with just one, grumbling silently to myself about an $18 coffee. She then left the counter moments later and walked 50 yards over to seated me and asked me in that blessed Danish tongue whether I wanted the other two coffees she made or did I just want the credit! thank God, maybe for the first time since my arrival two days ago, Dane responded to my Danish speaking Danish! Ah most look at me and figure I look like an American so they ignore me when I speak Danish and they just speak English. Kind and sweetly concerned, she made my day's wage slavery working on a Sunday all that much more bearable! What a modern marvel the structure is too!!
