It was the young lady at window 1, who politely told me she couldn't help me with my inquiry. But, pointed out the manager in case she might be able to help? The manager overheard this and came over to ask me what the issue was? I explained I had hauled butt over here so as to get here before 5. But did not see where the line was to check in or get numbers. She informed me that they had stopped giving numbers out around 4:30pm. Which made zero sense to me. As, every single time I have ever gone to a DMV? As long as you get there before closing time? You get helped. This kind of pissed me off. But, only after the "self-check in" QR code would not allow me to check in either. I noticed it by the door after I didn't see where I was supposed to check in. Again, I was upset because here I was. Clearly inside with plenty of time to spare before the listed closing hours. And now I just wasted all of my time and gas. For nothing. If you stop serving people at 4:30pm? Then that is the hour you should have posted as when you close. As that becomes THE ONLY TIME THAT MATTERS. Nobody cares what time you lock the doors if they can't be helped when they show up at 4:30pm. Which is thirty minutes before you are supposed to close. And thirty minutes before your posted hours. So in reality? THIS LOCATION CLOSES AT 4:30pm! I am tired of all of these businesses just making up hours as they go and wasting my time and money! And to make it worse? This is a GOVERNMENT AGENCY. It should stay open until the posted time. We pay for this thing to function as it is! For some reason... For some reason? We fund an agency that makes us pay it money for things we have already paid for. But, that's an entirely different rant I will refrain from getting into here. I usually go to the DMV in Compton. And it is awesome. And I would like to be clear that my issue is not with the people who work here. As, my experience with the manager and young lady at window 1 was perfectly cordial. And I really do appreciate that they took the minute or two to help answer my question. Even though I wasn't able to accomplish my mission. Those two ladies are the only reason I'm not giving this DMV one star. If nobody can get help after a certain time? THAN THAT IS THE TIME A PLACE CLOSES. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR HOURS ACCORDINGLY SO AS NOT TO WASTE MORE CITIZENS HARD EARNED MONEY and VALUABLE TIME.

    I went to the DMV yesterday because I was trying to complete my vehicle registration online through…read morethe Virtual Field Office. I was told by the virtual office that I needed to go into a physical field office to finish the registration. One positive is that you can get in line online through their website, and they text you when it's your turn. Because of that, the wait to see someone wasn't long at all, which I appreciated. However, once I got to the window, the experience went downhill. The woman who helped me wasn't very friendly--straight to the point, which I'm fine with--but when I explained that I was there because the Virtual Field Office told me to come in, she said she couldn't help me. I tried to show her the email communication I had, and she refused to look at anything on my phone. When I asked what I was supposed to do since I was directed to come in, she simply pointed at the wall and told me to dial a number. There was no effort to assist or even explain next steps. She then said she needed to call another number and completely dismissed me. Overall, the system for checking in is convenient, but the lack of customer service and willingness to help made the experience frustrating and disappointing.
